Your 2013 Buccaneers Opponents

December 31st, 2012

League tiebreakers officially landed the Bucs a last-place finish in the NFC South, despite being tied with the Saints and Panthers at 7-9.

Based on that finish, below are the Bucs’ opponents and game locations for the 2103 season. The detailed schedule is released in April.

AWAY

Rams
Seahawks
Patriots
Jets
Falcons
Panthers
Saints
Lions

HOME

Cardinals
49ers
Bills
Dolphins
Falcons
Panthers
Saints
Eagles

It’s not exactly a blackout-busting group coming to Tampa. Hopefully, the Bucs showed TV executives enough to grant a night home game to the Tampa Bay faithful.

Might be 3-4 games that can get to 85% (Philly, Niners, Saints, maybe Dolphins).

  2. Pic Jordan Says:

I’d expect the two west coast opponents (Cardinals & 49ers) to be early in the season when the Bucs typically have the late games due to the heat.

  3. Eric Says:

Damn, it’s filled with professional football teams again.

    Uh oh.

  4. Ian's Gay Lisp & Ron's Drinking Problem Says:

    Playoffs! 10-6 or 11-5

  5. SensibleBuc Says:

    LOL Eric. Well done.

  6. Stranger Says:

Meh, both the Patriots and the Seahawks away.

  7. Ben Says:

Any idea how they determine who is at home and who is away? The rest of the formula makes sense to me.

  8. canadianbuc Says:

They gotta give us a primetime game against the falcons. We always play close exciting games against them.

  9. Ian's Gay Lisp & Ron's Drinking Problem Says:

I guarantee Seattle game will be on National TV

  10. BIG SIR Says:

We do at least get one home night game on Thursday since we were the road team this year. I bet we have multiple primtime games. Schiano is polarizing, offense is exciting, we were in close games all year except for one and we have star players on both sides of the ball.

    12-4 NFC South Champs

This is brutal. All these teams will be better.

I’d predict 9-7 right now based on who we have and who they have, but of course that will change with free agency and the draft. Some tough games for sure (Seattle, New England, San Fran) but I expect the defense of the Bucs to be addressed in both free agency and the draft.

It all will boil down to #5. If we get midseason Josh, I think the Bucs will challenge for the division crown. If we get late season Josh, the Bucs will miss the postseason (again) and will have to essentially make an all or nothing decision on extending Josh or letting him leave and possibly blossom with another team.

I’m pulling hard for a return of midseason Josh. I hope he puts in the work and improves this offseason.

The “nextyearaneers” have their work cut out for them

But with the Rutgers legend and Mark Dominik all is well.

  15. Miguel El Magnifico Says:

Next year will be the Jadeveon Clowney (JCP) Project. Detroit is projecting that they will be drafting their Messiah 1st overall in 2014. The Juggalos are knashing their teeth. Carolina is salivating. Oaktown is banging the Clowney drum. It will be a race to the bottom.

The Bucs will be a solid contender for JC, after all Gosh will only be 25, much too young to figure out this football thingy. Every one who witnessed RG3’s heroic performance last night was hallucinating but the Redskins are in the playoffs and the Cowboys are not. Thanks to Tony (Gosh) Romo who is only 32 and still immature.

When at Rutgers, the Little General attained mediocrity by scheduling the service academies at least once, sometimes twice a year. I’m sure he will be petitioning the NFL to allow TB to play Army and Navy.

His 2nd year at Rutgers, he only won one game, so Schiano is a very slow learner so the JCP is on.

Schiano once had a football Messiah at Rutgers that turned his career around. Ray Rice reneged on his commitment to Syracuse and decided to play closer to home. He single handedly turned Rutgers football around.

Schiano actually became the highest paid public employee in New Jersey and was Home Depot coach of the year in 2006. Although he never was able to figure out how to win the Big East.

Wow, the schedule for the 2103 season? Really looking ahead aren’t you Joe?

  17. LABucsFan Says:

Thursday night game against the Dolphins. Easiest way for the networks to get two average teams into primetime.

  18. Patrick Says:

They better give us a damn Monday or Sunday night game as well. The overhyped Eagles got to stink it up on Monday night this year; so why can’t we get a slot?

  19. SirustheVirus Says:

Well i’m going to the Bills game lol
