How many yards will Drew Brees put up on the Bucs’ rancid pass defense, 500? How many touchdowns will Jimmy Graham rack up today?

This is still an important game for the Bucs. There is still a thin chance at a playoff spot, but not without a win in New Orleans.
If the Bucs lose, it’s time to start worrying about the draft.

The Saints are terrible on defense and we are going 3 and out. The Saints are as bad a team as we are and this is a real gauge of where we are as a team. They are fading and not improving. Andrew Luck and the Colts look more competitive than we are and we have more talent. They clearly have a better QB.

Our defense is horrendous no question, but Freeman has been shut down in the 1st half two weeks in a row against two of the worst defenses (Eagles and Saints).

No, Dallas.. this has been going on for 3-4 games now. Shutout by the 2 worst defenses in the league- bouncing passes, and the completions he’s making are poorly thrown. Yes, there are other things going wrong- but Freeman has been freaking out whenever he gets the slightest pressure. Heck- look at my posts– I was defending him after the Denver game. NO has given up over 400 yds of offense per game- last in the league.. and Freeman has VJax, Doug Martin, and Williams- They should be able to dink and dunk at least and kill some clock for their own tired D. O line is blocking and has allowed (I think) 4th fewest sacks per game. Sorry- this falls all on 5.

The Bucs GM & scouting are horrible. Freeman cannot hit an open receiver consistently. They are to thin at every position. It is beyond embarrasing to be a Bucs fan.

The most important player on the field is by far the QB. He handles the football on every offensive play.
If you draft the world’s greatest CB, the ball will never even go towards his direction.
The !st draft pick should go to a franchise type QB and not a Josh Freeman type in the 3rd round.

Bobby C- so if you are asking me if Freeman has done anything to help the situation in this game, I say not much. He led one good drive with good reads and good throws but either he or Jackson screwed up on a route and there was the second int. His poor play is only part of the problem today.

Trust me I have tried to reason and rationalize this team’s performance but there its simple and plain. Subpar qb and defense equate to losses. The talent on the team shows because they have loss close games but over the course of the season Freeman has shown he is just a middle of the pack qb. If the bucs are convinced he is the answer then fine but they have excuses for why Raymond James will not sell out.

He’s still a better prospect in most people’s minds than Geno Smith or Matt Barkley and KC needs a QB desperately (some would say the Bucs do too). I look at the Colts last year they had what 2 wins? This year there 9-4 poised to be in the playoffs and what on there team changed? They part ways with Manning, Clark, Saturday three key vets who helped them win a super bowl years ago. So in theory you would think they would be worse this year there defense was horrible last year and they have the same personnel this year on D. BUT they got a guy named Andrew Luck an outstanding QB who has single handily changed this sub par team into a playoff team. They play inspired and with heart. Now to the bucs, they had talent last year but totally went of the rails and fell apart and then in the offseason we fire Rah we upgrade with Nicks, Jackson and Wright (not really tho with right). O i forgot the draft we draft Barron with the 7th overall pick and we have outstanding rookies in David and martin. SO why are we so bad Yes our defense is absolutely horrible but the colts is nothing to cheer about either. Colts have no running game and one good receiver. Freeman is under contract for one more year. No reason to get Alex Smith when we already have Freeman. That’s assuming there’s no QB in this draft that the Bucs think they can develop. I’m not so sure. It looks totally possible that we could lose out and end up with a top ten pick and select Geno Smith.

Watch what you wish for bucs fans! I would take Freeman over Flacco, Schaub, and a bunch of other playoff qbs. We need a real slot receiver who has burner speed and our offense will be fine, when NIcks and Joseph are healthy. Cut Biggers though how much can he get beat and still be on the team.

Slot receivers don’t throw inaccurate passes, INTs and fail to read defenses properly. QBs do that. Specifically, Josh Freeman does that.

I will say this without a doubt: if Freeman gets another contract this team will be stuck in mediocrity for years to come. I sincerely hope that doesn’t happen. If it does I will lose a good part of my interest in following this team so closely each season.

Wow, Going to still put down my deposit on Monday for Season tickets next year, Just hope and pray that Josh Freeman is not the QB next year, and we can add some more pieces on Defense, still love my Bucs.

Still don’t understand why they didn’t take the FGs??? Not that it would’ve made much difference on the score board, but 41-9 is much better than getting shut out……Or was that the lesson for Freeman and the offense today??

come on folks.. I’m the furthest thing from fair weather fan. All I’m saying is that Freeman was on fire and then the league figured out how to get to him. Freeman needed to step up against the weak defenses in Philly and NO but didn’t show up at all… It looks to me like he’s totally lost confidence- to use a baseball analogy like Steve Sax or Chuck Knoblauch, or that pitcher from the Cardinals who became an OF (can’t remember his name). I am pulling for Freeman and hope he can do it- but until he shows up consistently I will say he isn’t the answer. This isn’t about 1 bad half.. this is a trend since the midpoint of the season.

Doesn’t seem like your a fan of this team, seems like your a fan of Free. A fan if this team would want what’s best for the team and clearly that’s not Free. Supporting Free at all costs means means your supporting him at the cost of this franchise yet we aren’t the real fans? Rather hypocritical.
