Schiano Says He Leans On Barber
November 21st, 2012It seems the leader of the New Schiano Order would be quick to hire Ronde Barber if No. 20 were to hang up his cleats.
In revealing commentary to the Falcons media today, via audio at AtlantaFalcons.com, Schiano said Barber is “a guy that I bounce things off almost constantly.”
“I can’t tell you how big a help Ronde has been to me as a first-time head coach in the National Football League,” Schiano said.
Schiano also painted Barber as someone who has adapted his leadership style to become more vocal.
“Ronde’s not a rah-rah guy; he’s a lead-by-example guy. And he’s actually stepped out more and spoken up some. And that’s been big,” Schiano said.
Between this take from Schiano and Dominik saying Barber is playing at a Pro Bowl level, Joe suspects the Bucs will be much more aggressive this offseason to pressure Barber to return in 2013, versus taking the more passive approach they used last offseason.

Sure. Give Barber a raise and “sweeten” the deal.
$$$ well spent!!
He can continue to add to his Hall of Fame Resume.

Based on his past comments I expect Ronde back next year unless he gets injured or his play tanks late in the year. Neither scenario seems likely based on his career’s body of work.
1st ballot Hall of Fame as I’ve been saying for about 4 years.

I’m imagining a few words from Barber mean more to the players than an entire film session from the coaches.

Would be awesome if he came back. He is so versatile.

I see Ronde as a talking head next year, maybe next to his brother on the Jim Rome show.
The Little General is making big bucks to lead this team, he should lead it himself.
I doubt that it was Ronde that forced the bye week intervention that turned this team around.
