“Greg Schiano Really Liked This Guy”
November 2nd, 2012Interesting stuff in this Boston sports radio audio below from popcorn-munching, coffee-slurping, fried-chicken-eating, oatmeal-loving, circle-jerking, beer-chugging Peter King, of Sports Illustrated and NBC Sports fame.
King reveals some of his fireside training camp chat with Greg Schiano about Aqib Talib. And King shares his talks with Talib, as well.
“Greg Schiano really liked this guy,” King emphasized.
King went on to make sure Patriots fans understand that Talib is not a great cornerback. He’s “not nirvana” for the Pats, King says. (The Talib chatter picks up about 3:10 of the audio.)

King, in his picks for the week, described the Bucs and Raiders as two “Meh” 3-4 teams and that “somehow, the Bucs have scored 34 points a gm over the last 3 weeks”…it’s good to see King’s paying attention so closely, I mean, what a stretch for an offense with Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams, Doug Martin, and Josh freeman, all such slouches, to put up such numbers. He does pick us to win 24-22, which means…nothing.

Just need to send them a tape of the Giants game to slow their roll. He is a decent corner, but definitely not a perennial pinapple muncher (to add Joe’s ever-popular fruit reference).

Pineapple??

Where are pineapples grown? Hawaii, and what happens in hawaii? Something something anaconda malt liquor gives us Little Richard.

Talib was a but player.
He’s got a lot of talent, but…
His anger is under control, but…
He had a pretty good game, but…
He was consistently inconsistent, he’s no longer here, we got a good deal for a corner that wasn’t going to be with the team next year anyway and it’s time to move on.

bucfanjeff:
Joe’s thinking that is your best post in the four years you have been posting here. Smart, thoughtful, creative, intelligent. Well done.

If Schiano really liked him he would still be here. simple as that.

Really like him means he is gone. How many times this year have we heard him praise one day and bench or cut the next?

Look what we did…Jackson, Wright, Nicks. Jacobs hasn’t seen the field yet, Manningham has been a disappointment, and Randy Moss plays less than half the snaps. You don’t watch much football do you? Have you been having a good season in Madden, so now you think you’ve got it all figured out. Good for you. Good for you.

NSO was just being politically correct!! What was he going to say, I’d rather have guys who don’t get arrested and don’t get into fisticuffs. There will be more subtractions, maybe in the off season. Manti Teo, definitely a Schiano guy.
