Wright’s “Appeal Is Probably A Few Weeks Away”
October 30th, 2012FOX Sports NFL guru Jay Glazer, who broke the news on Eric Wright’s alleged looming suspension for Adderrall use, a report no Buccaneer official denied, now says Wright’s “appeal is probably a few weeks away.”
Glazer joined the Booger and Rich show on 98.7 FM yesterday and explained that Bucs officials, Wright and suspended Aqib Talib likely collaborated to lead Talib to forfeit his appeal option while Wright pursued his. Thus, the two cornerbacks would not be off the field simulaneously.
The NFL gives players ample time to appeal, Glazer explained, and Glazer said he still maintains hope that Wright can win his case and beat a suspension for violating the league’s drug policy. Glazer says he knows Wright personally and considers him a great guy.
Joe was intrigued by Glazer’s assertion that Talib likely worked with the Bucs to help Tampa Bay’s depth at the position. If true, it was a selfless move after a selfish move.

We’re gaming the system for drug cheats. That’s what Buc Men do. I guess.
October 30th, 2012 at 8:08 am
Sounds like they both took it on the same day at the same time from the same person. Wonder who that person was. Almost seems like a set up.

“Wright and suspended Aqib Talib likely collaborated to lead Talib to forfeit his appeal option while Wright pursued his. Thus, the two cornerbacks would not be off the field simulaneously”.
Maybe that Adderall stuff works afterall. Given the downside of this escapade, sounds like somebody was thinking!
October 30th, 2012 at 8:20 am
He is serving his time (suspension) like a man Meh.
Schiano is just managing the situation.
Schiano didn’t say, “In order to Buccaneer Men you have to take Aderall illegally.”
Nope, Talib and Wright have to earn their way back on the Buccaneer’s Men list after this setback.
There is a new Buccaneer Way being established by this staff… a staff that the Glazers hand picked. The owners want this organization to be an organization that the players feel proud to be a part of… to be lucky to be accepted in the group of Buccaneer Men.
Much like the Patriot Way. Look how that organization effedctively cut out their cancer in Ocho Cinco, Randy Moss et al. Thats what Schiano is building here… and you better get used to it!
October 30th, 2012 at 8:26 am
Bufan, I agree with you, but the Patriots went out of their way to bring in Ocho and Randy, they realised their mistake, and cut ways. I do not think the Bucs would even give those types of guys a shot.
October 30th, 2012 at 8:41 am
It is highly unlikely it was actually adderall. That’s just what the players and agents say because the league can’t comment and adderall is seen as no big deal. These guys are both cheats IMO. If the ‘Buccaneer Men’ thing is real, these guys don’t belong. But its probably just PR.
October 30th, 2012 at 8:47 am
It’s no coincedence that 2 CB’s got popped for the same substance. There’s an underlying story there, Joe.
That said, I’m glad both won’t be gone at the same time. I hope they learn something and the truth comes out and Schiano cleans up that mess.
October 30th, 2012 at 8:49 am
I really dnt care what happened this is a team game 2 DBs dnt stop the show go bucs
October 30th, 2012 at 9:06 am
@Deminion
You’re right but still it makes it tougher to come out with a win when either 1 or both of you’re top CB’s are out, especially with all the passing in the current day NFL.
October 30th, 2012 at 9:14 am
My guess is one of them obtained the adderall and gave it to the other. Schiano will get to the truth. If talib got it then not only took it but gave it to a team mate there’s no doubt in my mind talib is gone and will be released. If it was wright that got it and gave it to talib then that’s a different story. My bet is talib is gone.
October 30th, 2012 at 9:22 am
I am a Buccaneer football fan. If the guys are talented, better than what we got, then you got to keep them until you can replace them.
The time to “part ways” will be in the off-season. But a team should never “part ways” unless they have a replacement.
If you actually enjoy watching the games, and want them to compete, then you should care about them being on the field, Buccaneer Men or not.
Perhaps Schiano should have a Buccaneer Men WFRs. As in waiting for replacement.
October 30th, 2012 at 9:49 am
Meh , that’s what I said a couple weeks ago. We don’t really know what it was.
October 30th, 2012 at 9:55 am
Here comes the message board guys with zero sources; who conjure up grand conspiracy theories like: “That’s just what the players and agents…” or instead of what a respected reporter like Glazer reported. It’s a known fact that a large majority of the league is cycling or using PEDs in some capacity. Don’t be naive, it doesn’t exscuse getting popped for a banned substance but PEDs are part of pro sports. Both guys got caught, and now they are going through the punishment process that was collectively agreed upon. I have no issues with either guy coming back once they serve their suspensions and being a Buc again. I just hope they use better judgement with their PED usage in the future.
October 30th, 2012 at 9:56 am
Buc fan…I agree 100%
I do not think it matters who gave what to who, they are all adults and make adult decisions. Anyone who took it is guilty, regardless of where they got it.
October 30th, 2012 at 10:36 am
If Schiano is telling the truth that he has an Achilles injury, why not just start the suspension now? Send him home, let him heal up (with NO help from pain killers or other pills), and get it over with.
October 30th, 2012 at 10:38 am
Understanding Schiano’s “you’re just gonna have to trust us on this one” comment a little better now.

Isn’t Amerika great! A place where a normal citizen can speak out and say, “Look! Every one says the Emperor wears only the finest of robes and garments. With my own eyes, I now see, THE EMPEROR WEARS NO CLOTHES!!”
Of course, Joel or the Joe’s don’t have the freedom that I have to snipe anonymously from the interweb. They have to confirm their sources, I don’t. I make silly, embarrassing mistakes, they usually don’t.
They have to trade access for information, I don’t. The Buccaneer Palace would post an armed guard to keep me out.
October 30th, 2012 at 11:49 am
On this particular story, I have been dead right from day one. Aren’t you all lucky that I shared my opinion? That I softened the blow, tempered your disappointment? (Hint: more suspensions coming)
I have been subject to ad hominem attacks for expressing my opinion because my opinion is not the majority”s opinion.
I believe people in power at Buc Palace have read my repetitive posts, been embarrassed by them and changes have been made for the better. Maybe I’m wrong about that, maybe I’m crazy, but that’s my opinion for better or worse. Maybe, I just planted a seed of an idea in someone’s brain.
Who would have expressed the common sense idea that it would make to give Bowers an exemption from the gauntlets, I did and somehow he was given an exemption. Miracle!

@Miguel,
You’re right on when you say the normal American Citizen has the right to speak out. On the other hand, what is your philosophy on the Abnormal American Citizen?
Waiting anxiously to see if Miguel takes the bait?

I don’t know about that. I don’t for a second think that getting rid of Meshawn was a mistake way back when. I think in general you are right…but there are individual cases where it is best to cut ways for fear of future damage being done.
Cutting Talib would be a smart move. Cutting Wright? Not so smart. It would represent a huge financial loss. Better to give him another chance.
In the case of Talib, whether it is drugs, guns or whatever…he has been given chance after chance after chance.
I think cutting him would send the right message. Putting Wright on probabtion would send a good message.

Miguel El Magnifico, it is easy to predict bad things and “hope” the happen…because most people are imperfect and will eventually make mistakes of some sort.
In your case…you say all these bad things in mass…and feel justified when one or two actually happen. I hate to burst your bubble…but it makes you no more important than anyone else…probably less so given how intolerable you are.
Those of us that do not seek attention to validate our existance look at guys that do and just shake our heads…because kids behave better.

You are totally and completely delusional, lol.
October 30th, 2012 at 12:56 pm
Pete, where you may be right about getting rid of Talib…You leave out one glaring reason sending Keyshawn packing worked out, Joey Galloway! It was a great trade.
October 30th, 2012 at 12:57 pm
Oh, and Pete…it is best to ignore Miguel…he is simply a less fun version of Thomas.
October 30th, 2012 at 1:05 pm
Pete,
First I agree with you about Miguel the Delusional (new name, he earned it on this one). Why? Because he said this: “I believe people in power at Buc Palace have read my repetitive posts, been embarrassed by them and changes have been made for the better”
He admitted that he believes this and believes that his comments on a blog are influencing Buccaneer decisions.
One could easily say he is kidding. But considering his drivel over the past few months, I would wager that he is SERIOUS. Which makes him even more sad.
Pete, however, I disagree with you about Talib. You don’t cut him, you don’t release him. He stays until we find a better replacement talent wise… unless he is a Meshauwn or Winslow who actually is a cancer to the locker room.
Is Talib a cancer? I do not think so because no body listens to him as a voice. He is just a thug who makes boneheaded mistakes. But he is a team player. And that’s all teammates can ask for.
Besides, the Bucs might get lucky and re-sign him on the cheap this year.
October 30th, 2012 at 1:23 pm
Buc Fan, We did replace keyshawn before sending him packing. We replaced him with Joey galloway, so I beleive this makes your point even clearer. It would appear that Dallas Clark was Winslow’s replacement as well.
I do not agree with cutting Talib either, I agree with Pete that he needs to go, but I would say let him walk at the end of the season. He is popular with his team mates and is a good player, it would be nuts to cut him mid season.
October 30th, 2012 at 3:17 pm
@Dutcher
I don’t predict bad things, I just interpret facts differently than most do, I state my opinion and then I’m attacked for it because it’s not the majority opinion and I turn the other cheek.
I’ll never be a member of the Amen Chorus.
Who complained about the HC spending the 1st 4 games with his little fine note book and not focusing on the games? I did and he changed.
Who complained about the half time siestas and the absence of adjustments? I did and he changed.
Who complained about the gauntlets? I did and well, never mind, still working on that one.
Maybe, it’s the Glazers that are reading my comments. Maybe, it’s the lovely Mrs Schiano. Have you ever heard of the “Butterfly Effect?”
I’ve seen you jump up and down like an excited little girl, when you predicted a late round draft pick or some obscure pre-season cut but you make so many predictions, it’s hard to keep up with them all.

Where you are sobering Miguel is that you leave out the fact that this is the normal progression of a disciplinarian coach. You did not complain about something and he fixes it. He continues to mold this team the way he wants them to be and damn if they haven’t gotten much better. Raheem Morris failed young players like Taliban by not providing leadership to them. Schiano has recognized that and is seeing if he can turn around a good talent and make him accountable and productive. All good coaches come in with an iron fist and back off as the players show their ability to maintain the discipline he has instilled. Miguel you do interpret facts different than most, you interpret them wrong. And to Meh, stop listening to Steve “Dumb-egg” to get your chat room material. I know you did so don’t deny it. He is an idiot and makes you look like one when you regurgitate his bull $&it
