High Hopes For Michael Bennett

October 26th, 2012

Lost a bit in the ecstasy of last night’s Bucs win in Minnesota was the late and still mysterious leg injury to Michael Bennett, who was seen needing help off the field.

This afternoon, the leader of the New Schiano Order said he expects Bennett will be “OK.”

That’s great news. Bennett absolutely is one guy the Bucs are not prepared to lose.

Bennett was walking without any noticeable limp in the locker room Friday afternoon while simultaneously reading from his iPad.

“I just got my [right] ankle twisted up ‘ Bennett said of the game’s final play. “I will be alright.”

Now that’s good news! I’ve been trying all day to find some info on this. Let’s hope he can be alright for next game, the long week will help…

Thank god have been looking every where for news on his injury but no one has said nothing thanks, Joe just hope the coach is being honest cause it looked serious. Still dont know why he was in the game at that point should have put in the back ups but hopfully he is fine.

Joe just got back from personally talking to Bennett. He appears to be just fine. Didn’t notice a limp and he didn’t sound as if he is any bit of pain.

    @ Joe

Thank you so much for that update I am so happy he is fine that plus having Daquan back and looking as good as he did last night. Our d line got a big boost with him in the game. 3 sacks not bad !! Go Bucs BABY !!

Thank god! Bennett is the most consistent defender we have. The guy is gonna make a whole lotta cash this offseason with the way he is playing. Ray Edwards type money.

I saw him on the ground and the didn’t show what had happen. Glad he is ok.

Are we missing the fact that the game was OVER and there is no way Bennett should have been in at that time. Chalk that up to coaching. Hopefully we don’t learn that lesson the hard way.

I know rosters are limited and all but I really hope we put as much of our 2nd team D as possible in if we get a big lead that late in the game in the future.

Some people just have to find the negative in everything…

    @Pete

I was wondering about that. Depth is an issue with this team, plus the starting offense was still in the game.

  11. tampabaybucfan Says:

Depth isn’t an issue when you have a body to put into the game when its basically over. We should be substituting.

Thanks for the update Joe. I rewinded/paused/slow mowed the game over and over and it DID indeed “look” like he tweaked it a little (got caught in the turf). Inject some rooster comb (Synvisc) in that bad boy and you’ll be fine.
