Manning Says Giants Ramping Up Intensity

The man Bucs fans hope Gerald McCoy will toss around like a ragdoll Sunday, Eli Manning, took to the WFAN-AM New York sports radio airwaves yesterday and referenced multiple times how the Giants need to jack up their intensity for the Bucs.
Manning made it clear that the Super Bowl champs lost their edge in their home opener.
“It was a wakeup call, and we kind of got used to winning,” Manning said of the Giants’ opening-night loss to Dallas. “We got to get back to the way we worked late in the season last year. Just our intensity, the way we came out and practiced each week. And so it’s about getting into that rhythm, and hopefully we’ll get back into it this week.”
One could say the Bucs are catching the Giants at the wrong time, an angry, re-focused team desperate for a win at home. Or one could say the Bucs get the Giants at the just the right time. Tampa Bay is healthy and New York is still finding its footing and might have had their confidence shaken a bit in Week 1.
Regardless, Joe expects an extraordinarily physical football game Sunday, a great measuring stick for the New Schiano Order.

Wow, imagine that, the SuperBowl Champs losing thier season opener and first home game to arch-rival Cowgirls, want to up thier intensity. That Eli is pure genius, I tell you!

Controlling the lines is the key to winning this game, keep the pressure on Eli and keep JPP out of Josh’s face.

Oooooohhhhh…they’re ramping up the intensity. I bet the Bucs are scared now. No way they could’ve expected an intense football game.

I hate to say it but this is going to be a very very hard game to win..Maybe we have some advantage with sullivan knowing there play book.. Im still going to stay with my 10-6 record though.. I do believe we have a better chance of beating the cowboys then beating the Giants…

They’ve got some serious issues right now at corner back and left tackle so we’re definitely playing them at the right time.

Keys to this game will be just like last week. Stuff the run, get after Eli, and win the turnover battle. Only way we’ll have a chance

@bucfanjeff absolutely, which means we are going to have to motion or line-up help to the right the whole game. I can envision a tight double TE set to the right side a whole lot this game.

if anyone knows how best to deal with JPP it has to be Sullivan and Ware… Of course, JPP will also be extremely familiar with what the Bucs are going to try to do him facing it in practice all the time… It’s going to be interesting, I think JPP will get his, just have to make sure they don’t lead to turnovers.

When Coughlin said he saw familiar concepts in Sullivan’s offensive scheme that may be helpful in preparing for the Bucs, please remind Coughlin that that’s a two way street and we have two people that has lived on his street for over 5 years – Sullivan and RB DJ Ware. We know a lot about about him too!

Getting the World Champs coming off 10 days rest isn’t exactly ideal…but the Bucs gotta feel pretty decent after Sunday’s win. The Giants are the type of team that can beat any team as well as lose to ( just about) any team. I hoping for a close game with a chance at the end.

Hopefully, that 10-day will had some dullness to their play and I too think they are a beatable team. Afterall, the Cowgirls beat them at home.

I just hope we have a shot at winning this game. We can’t go to the conservatie play calling we had in some of the carolina game. Freeman needs to have a very good game and this should be a measure of how good or bad the bucs truly are. Remember we were facing a team last week that other than both bucs win won just as many as we did, these are the Super Bowl champs. Again I hope the bucs compete in this game.

The key will be to withstand the crowd and the intensity the Giants will have to start the game. If they can keep it close or pull ahead early; that ship will sink quickly. They have no patience in NY so the crowd will turn against them if we can get the lead. If we fall behind that just adds fuel to the fire.

I think the game will have to be won on offense. There secondary is absolutely depleted. Josh is going to have to open it up down field. I don’t think he can check down very much like he has previously due to giants very athletic front seven. It will be difficult to get vjax the ball to expose their weak secondary with jpp and tuck coming down field so the offensive line is going to have there work cut out for then as well.

I thinl OAR has a point, 10 days is a long time to go w/o a game after a loss. Maybe they will be well rested, but hopefully too rested!
We must neutralize their pass rush with screens and draws. Make their D-Line think too much and keep them on their toes. I think our D-line will continue to penetrate…GO BUCS!!

I think Eli is going to get bloodied. I hope Josh is really on the same page with the receivers, because he’s going to need to get rid of that damn ball if he wants to exploit the secondary, with at least one tight end devoted to blocking on the right side.

And Trueblood needs to keep his head. I can already see him getting beaten up all day long and committing his usual raft of penalties. In fact, that man is my biggest worry.

I know the Bucs and Coach Schiano are not underestimating the Giants. This may be the key to a victory. Fundamentally sound, do your job, and play 4 quarters. It is doable and I’d rather play the Giants at home in September than in late December when it is cold and the wind is swirling around at 40 mph. The Bucs have a chance and this will be a good tuneup for Jerruh and the Cowgirls.

I can see Dotson reporting as eligible and lining up next to Trueblood, then running straight at JPP behind Larson, Trueblood, Dotson & Lorig if we can get any of our backs to the second level they’ll be gone.

@flmike, that doesn’t sound too outlandish, nor too out of the realm of Schiano, who is probably working out a way to aggressively punish that line, slow them down and beat the secondary. Dotson is very athletic, and I reckon he has hands too. Carl Nicks is in a gold-lined cave somewhere gnawing on a bone and dreaming of whipping the Super Bowl champion d-line and I really hope the other guys respond. Too bad he’s on the left side, in this case.
