It’s The Battle Of Defenses

September 8th, 2012

Just what kind of defense will the Bucs come out with tomorrow? Will the Bucs blitz a lot, will they play it safe? No one knows for sure but there is one thing for sure, it seems ESPN’s Pat Yasinskas is certain about one thing:

Tomorrow’s battle between the Panthers and the Bucs will be won by how the victor’s defense plays. That’s what he explained in an ESPN NFC South chat.

Eric (Chapel Hill, NC)

How do you think the Tampa V. Carolina game play will be oriented? A battle of defenses or offense or mix of both. What is going to be the deciding factor in your opinion on who comes out on top?

Pat Yasinskas

Think the key is Tampa Bay’s defense. Lot of unknowns on that side of the ball. Can they slow Carolina’s offense?

Well, for the Bucs, it is all about how to stop — or contain — Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. Many Bucs players told Joe that stopping Newton is the key to stopping the Panthers rushing attack.

The Panthers have many offensive weapons. It will be interesting to see just what Greg Schiano concocts to shut the stinking Panthers down.

    A GMC led d-fence will be way better than the panthers crappy d-fence.Cant wait till the bucs beat the brakes off Fignewton and the Panthers and those of you who doubt this what are you going to sat when the bucs not only win but win in doinant fashion.I know the Buc are going to kill the Panther ,I bet we win by 17.If your atrue fan give me an at the stadium cheer,come on everyone TAMPAAAAAAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOO

  2. ClayBURN94 Says:

    Hell ya buccobruce!!! Im so f****** pumped i hope they brake Scam Newton in half!! Ill be at the game wathcing the massacre that the bucs will put down on the p**** cats! Go bucs!!!

  3. BamBamBuc Says:

    Cam Newton was responsible for 4700+ yards out of 6200+ total yards of offense by the Panthers last year. If Cam should happen to have a “sophomore slump”, which many QBs are prone to since teams now have more film to study, the Panthers could be horribly bad this year. I’m so sick of analysts pumping up the 6-10 Panthers.

  4. bucobruce Says:

    Yeah, keep it up buc fans woooooooo

  5. Jbrooks8604 Says:

    Im with you BamBam. It seems they ignore the fact that about 8 positions have been upgraded by us this offseason. Also they seem to think Kuechly is going to make a defense, that was almost as terrible as ours, that much better. I really want them to beat the Kittens so we can shut some people up.

    He just described every football game. Ever.

  7. Miguel Grande Says:

    I believe on this site I mentioned how important it was for a competent coach to make strategic half time adjustments. Raheem absolutely refused to consider them. The Little General said that half time was for urinating. He couldn’t accomplish anything in 8 scant minutes.

    https://www.joebucsfan.com/?p=71902#comments

    The Little General said, “I really think that halftime adjustments are overrated in a big, big way. I think halftime is to take care of your personal business, go to the men’s room, get a drink and maybe something to eat because you maybe had something to eat three hours before kickoff or four hours before kickoff, now you have played an hour and a half later. You are looking at 5 1/2 hours before you have put some fuel in your system.”

    Miguel stated what is conventional wisdom in the NFL. “The greatest coaches of all time, win the 3rd quarter. They insert a well thought out game plan and make adjustments at halftime.”

    Grande just finished watching the Gators -Texas A&M game in which the Aggies completely dominated the first half physically, mentally and statistically. 17-10 at the half did not tell the true story of this ass kicking and looming blowout. The Gators were on the road against a vicious home crowd known notoriously as the 12th man. Uniformed cadets with choreographed cheers drowned out the Gators communications. It was bedlam.

    Will Muschamp and his coaches at halftime, had a drink, took a pee, had a snack, coached their freaking asses off, came out and dominated A&M in the second half. Even though they were devastated by injuries, they shut down the Aggie’s offense and scratched out 10 more points for themselves.

    Miguel rests his case. Props to the Gators.

    Grande is waiting for apologies from the posters who attacked him personally for his opinion. Lurker, BucFanBF, Hawaiian, Drew, FLBoyinDallas, Bobby, Stevek, and Oar who Miguel believes might have been banned for cyberbullying.

    TAMPAAAAAAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOO

    BucoBruce your cheer is causing havoc with Grande’s spell check.

    Lets Go Bucs! Bucs 31, Panthers 17

  9. SilenceTheCritics Says:

    Miguel, you little simpleton. You left out the little part where Schiano also says they make adjustments throughout the entire game. So emphasizing halftime only for adjustments is over rated. It’s ok, I know you cant comprehend this to well. Either way, I just want to see a good game and hopefully not a blow out. GO BUCS!!

  10. Have A Nice Day Says:

    @Miguel – Morris spoke repeatedly about half time adjustments. He talked about how he always made halftime adjustments so I’m not sure what you are talking about. Didn’t work out very well for him in the long run.
    He said the idea of severe halftime adjustments were overrated as quality coaches think on their toes and make changes throughout the game, not just at half time.

    Either way, why should anyone apologize to you? None of them said anything to you about a gator’s game.

  11. Fritz50 Says:

    M.G.

    First off, you’re off topic. Secondly, Silence… responded to your comments way better than I could. Lastly, I refuse to apologize to you for your asinine comments wishing for them to lose in order to justify you hatred for the coach. I’m interested to know just who you’d like to be coach. Seems like you’d try to pick apart anyone in the position, to satisfy a sick need to be right. Pathetic

  12. Miguel Grande Says:

    @SilenceTheCritics

    Why would you call Grande little? Why would you attack Miguel personally for his opinion backed by facts.

    Grande left out nothing because he provided the link to the original article. Should he have cut and pasted the entire article?

    If the Little General can’t think, drink and chew at the same time, we’re in trouble.

    Miguel wonders if the Little General gets to cut to the front of the line at the concession stands at halftime? It would sure make sense, those lines can be murder.

  13. SilenceTheCritics Says:

    Lol Because your facts are only half truths, thats why. You distort them to fit your own agenda. It’s ok everybody sees through it. Keep on keeping on brotha man. And we’ll keep on laughing at you every step of the way.

    For example.. Allow me to copy and paste for YOU…

    “For the second time in recent days, Bucs coach Greg Schiano spent time during his daily confab with reporters to shoot down the constant empty chatter from empty suits behind a microphone babbling about “halftime adjustments.” In short, Schiano said, adjustments are made constantly during the game and halftime is often used for personal matters for players”

    Try reading the WHOLE article and not just what you want to see… but I suppose if you did that we wouldnt have anything to laugh at you about.

  14. Miguel Grande Says:

    SilenceTheCritics…….WTF!

    Have a Nice Day……..OMG!

    Fritz50………………….Off topic? Referencing a JBF article on JBF about the Bucs on the day before the 1st game? WTF! OMG!

    TAMPAAAAAAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOO

  15. Have A Nice Day Says:

    Silence The Critics is pretty much always a voice of reason. I’m not sure if we have ever disagreed. I sincerely appreciate your approach and comments.

  16. Drew Says:

    Who do I apologize to… Miguel or Grande? LMFAO…

  17. Miguel Grande Says:

    @Drew

    I accept. That’s one.

    @Have a Nice Day

    You and Silence are members of the Amen Chorus. AC never disagree that would be disagreeable.

  18. Have A Nice Day Says:

    Miguel, I have agreed with you before, and posted so. If I am of the “AC”, and agree with some of you posts, what does that say about your words?

  19. Miguel Grande Says:

    Can I hear an AMEN sister????

  20. Have A Nice Day Says:

    So, of this ‘coalition’ you have created in your head, you are also a member?

  21. Andrew Says:

    MIGUEL STFU AND CHUPA ME PENGA YOU DAMN MEXICANT. DO US ALL A FAVOR AND CROSS BACK OVER THE BORDER.

  22. Have A Nice Day Says:

    Andrew, I think everyone would appreciate you not bringing that to a Bucs forum. It is petty, unnecessary, and doesn’t do a thing but make matters worse.

  23. Andrew Says:

    sorry have a nice day. sometimes i let my temper get the best of me. I have family that is of spanish decent. but let me make this clear i apoligize to you, not to miquel. that guy just gets under my fn skin.

  24. Andrew Says:

    and for the record I am surprised the joe did not block that comment. I didnt expect it to get through but thought I would give it a shot.

  25. Miguel Grande Says:

    @Have a Nice Day

    You are a very classy individual, don’t lower yourself to the level of those that would attack me personally. it’s late on the East Coast and Andrew is probably 3 sheets to the wind.

    It frustrates them when I’m right and they’re wrong.

    TAMPAAAAAAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOO

  26. Have A Nice Day Says:

    I appreciate that and understand that it may be frustrating.

    Keep on keeping on with a lighter heart, Andrew.

    Now, back to the Bucs.

  27. Andrew Says:

    hey miguel looks like you are wrong again as i have given up drinking. eat crow. what do you get out of intentionally pissing off bucs fans anyway? we are supposed to be on the same side. i guess some people are just a lost cause and are meant to be ignored aka miquel.

  28. Have A Nice Day Says:

    @Andrew – lol Joe will most likely delete it when he sees it.

    @Miguel – Immediately after talking about ‘lowering oneself’ you in turn do the same, albeit to a more cryptic extent. You had a golden chance to take the high road, yet as soon as you were on the overpass you bombed it. Why?

  29. Miguel Grande Says:

    @Andrew

    Grande accepts your apology. That’s two.

    Attacking my race is ridiculous, remember, soy Gringo! I’m actually Irish!

  30. Andrew Says:

    first of all miquel i did not nor would i ever apologize to you a$s wipe, i apologized to have a nice day. go back and reread my comment, but take it slow i wouldnt want you hurting yourself. second of all you are one twisted, sad, and pathetic person.

  31. Andrew Says:

    but im sure its nothing you haven’t already heard during your lifetime. troll.

  32. SilenceTheCritics Says:

    Lol, you do realize you are arguing with a fool who claimed some prominent members of our super bowl winning team sexually herassed his daughter… and also called Schiano a “Criminal” and “Murderer”… clearly he is only here to piss you off, dont give him what he wants. Just laugh at him for the joke that he is.

  33. Andrew Says:

    true that silencethecritics. and since i dont think that he is funny from this day for whenever read the commenter name as miquel grande i will ignore him skip over it and move on the the next comment. you reading this miquel? you have suckered me in for the last time.

  34. Miguel Grande Says:

    @Have a Nice Day

    I apologize you are a bigger person than Miguel.

    Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.

  35. Have A Nice Day Says:

    @Miguel – Are you saying I’m fat!?!?

  36. Stanglassman Says:

    The Bucs are on the road + 2 1/2 in Vegas, that’s respect.

  37. Miguel Grande Says:

    @silence

    Can you provide the link to where Miguel accused Schiano of being a criminal and a murderer?

    @Nice
    Are you saying you’re fat?

  38. Stanglassman Says:

    BTW If you’re not Latin with a lil Irish blood in you you’re not from “Tampa”

  39. Miguel Grande Says:

    @Stanglassman

    That’s two totally incomprehensible posts. One more and you’re computer explodes.

  40. snook Says:

    It still amazes me that someone can consider themselves a Bucs fan but actually need to ask some dipshiz from ESPN about their team. My 2 year old daughter knows more about the Bucs than Pat or ESPN.

  41. gotbbucs Says:

    @ snook
    Amen to that. Every once in a while I’ll read through the transcript from one of Pat’s chats just for a good laugh.

  42. gotbbucs Says:

    As far as this halftime adjustment pissing match goes, Schiano never said he doesn’t make halftime adjustments, he just said they are overrated. I think what he is trying to say is that football games are ever evolving and if problems are happening in the 1st quarter the adjustments should be happening between possessions and not waiting until the half.

    Either way, none of us have a clue how this is going to go for Schiano considering he has never coached a regular season game yet so why don’t we all just sit back and shut up until we actually have some proof of what he can or can’t do with his football team.

  43. McBuc Says:

    Wow, you guys fed th Troll a Thanksgiving feast.

    Sure I would love to.

    Here is the link. Its the “Arrelious Benn Out A Month” article towards the bottom of the page. https://www.joebucsfan.com/?p=69856#comments

    And since I know you have a reading comprehension problem I will copy and paste for you once again your exact quote.

    The correct motivation for a professional athlete is a big fat paycheck. They have been coddled and admired all of their lives. They work or money!

    Belicheat makes them run between 40 and 60 yard sprints 10 times depending on their position in a New England climate.

    Making linemen run 110 yards sixteen times in the Florida heat is irresponsible bordering on criminal. How many athletes die in training camp in this state? Every year 3-4 athletes keel over dead, none had to run 16 110 yard sprints in the heat. If I were a police officer responding to an on field death after 16 110 yard sprints, I would arrest the head coach for murder 1.
