Three Games, Three Strong Starts
August 25th, 2012What befuddled the Raheem Morris administration seems to be no problem for the New Schiano Order.
How could this be? How could the slow starts to games, the most consistent aspect of the Raheem regime, poof into thin air under Greg Schiano?
Amazing how that works. Joe still contends the Bucs of last season were just too stubborn to hire a consultant, fresh sets of eyes, to study what was going wrong and causing those heinous starts to games.
Schiano has delivered three solid starts to three preseason games, capped by tonight’s 14-0 zip early lead on the Patriots.
This is by far one the most exciting developments of 2012.

My confidence level in this team went up a bunch the day we hired Schiano. I remember at first I didn’t even really know who he was……then I learned more about his style of coaching and his resume and I felt better about the hire.

Not that it means anything, because it really doesn’t, but I find it amazing that after the Tennessee game Eric and Jock Strap Grande post constantly. However, when we play well, nothing whatsoever. I just don’t get it. One would think that perhaps they didn’t want the Bucs to win, but surely that’s not the case. Hell, jock strap even put money on the Pats tonight (which makes the win actually mean something to me). Would it actually kill them to just say the words “we looked pretty good tonight”?
We may still end up being horrible, but anyone could see that at least we looked better than last year. We are not the same football team. At this point, that makes me happy. I never want to endure another season like that.

Did they have Eric Lorig out on defense at one point tonight? I swear I saw him standing around in the middle of the field right after McCoy got injured.

RoyMiller actually looked half decent tonight he shot the gap a few times and had a few tackles for a loss judging from what the announcers who were new england bias and quite unprofessional they bere bigging up the Buc’s d all night as extremely athletic ad fast these guys were obviously under the influence of some sort of bath salts

@sandbag Those NE guys from NFL network were getting on my nerves, so unprofessional. They made so many mistakes misnaming players and plays, what a joke. I wish NFL .com would have given the option for the Bucs announcers in their preseason package…I would have paid extra for it.

The early penalties drive me crazy but you can’t dispute solid play. I wish the consistency was there already but by the looks of it the team is leaps and bonds ahead of where it was last year.

@HawaiianBuc
That is a point well taken. I apologize, I had to go out to dinner with my family right after the McCoy injury. I just got back and am trying to catch up.
I am shocked how well they played today and I thought the Las Vegas line was ripe to be plucked. Boy, I was wrong. After last year’s game and Belicheat resting his starters for this game, I was 98% certain the Bucs were going to get spanked.
I told my daughter about the bet and how strong the Bucs started, I was down 21 points before I knew what hit me. I did tell her that the good thing was that a lot of the posters on JBF would get much pleasure from me losing a lot of money.
I haven’t seen the game but I am pretty sure that “We looked pretty good tonight.”
So Hawaiian, Oar, Stevek, Lurker and all the others, you were right and I was wrong. I am glad you all had some fun at my expense.

@Miguel, I was VERY surprised how well we did. I dont gamble much anymore, but with that line, I would have probably taken it too. I think it was a combo of the Pats starters having to work some rust off and our guys just playing in beast mode…..especially the guys who could get cut. Money talks and they know being jobless dont pay. But Im proud of our guys. Hell of a show they put on…..just SUCKSSSS bout Joseph, damnit to hell!

Excellent post Miguel. I actually gained a lot of respect for you. I still don’t feel bad for you for bettin against the Bucs, but at least you were man enough to admit you were wrong. That doesn’t happen often on this board.

I once broke my patella and if I remember correctly, it wasn’t that bad. I’m not a doctor but I don’t believe the patella is a load bearing part of the knee.
It freaked me out, when I broke it, the pain and trauma of it all but I was able to walk on it and work. It healed completely in about 6 weeks. I’m not saying my job was as strenuous as playing guard in the NFL but I think, if willing, Davin should be back after the bye week.
Thanks, Hawaiian. I do like you guys, we just don’t always agree. Kind of like having brothers.

I’ll take back everything bad I ever said about you Miguel if Davin is ready by the bye week. I may even take it all back if he’s ready by December.

Miguel, that was nice of you. Awesome to see people willing to take a lash.
All good in my book.

I was thoroughly impressed with the defense. Even some of the backups, the 2nd and 3rd teamers against their starters played pretty well.
Freeman was erratic after the first quarter, starting to make me a little nervous.

Since eating crow is the thing to do in this thread, now it’s my turn. I said on Thursday that there was no chance the Bucs would beat the Pats. Clearly I was wrong. I am happy to eat crow!
I would never bet against my team though. Gotta admit, Miguel (sp), you earned some respect just now.
August 25th, 2012 at 10:22 am
Yeah I might as well start spitting out feathers myself crow for breakfast once again. I live in Babylon excuse me Boston and I watched the game with some jocksniffing New england fans who got the chance to see mary poppins aka Tom Brady taste grass clippings on quite a few instances. Question whats that white semen looking substance he drinks on the sideline some sort of brazilian teststerone swill? He was pretty good at practicing his hermie the dentist look on the sideline it wasn’t bumble that was getting his teeth pulled it was him though and by Mike Bennett ,adam hayward and the crew. I tell you what those kickers were blasting some long shots thats going to be interesting who gets sent packing between these guys all of them good from behind fifty yards

Crow is a bitter bird, but oh so nutritious.

Good post Miguel. The defense for the Bucs was stifling and really fun to watch all the different looks they gave the Pats. Best I’ve seen the defense look since we played Atlanta last year. Really encouraging! If you get a chance watch the replay. The little general is doing well. ;>)

wow, miguel. welcome!
it is okay to disagree, but the extent that some go to is just extreme and is done in a very negative way.
ps i hope you didn’t lose too much money.
