Shame On Schein

August 28th, 2012

The mercurial NFL analyst Adam Schein, of SiriusXM NFL Radio and FOXSports.com, has pulled the ol’ switcheroo when it comes to his prediction for the 2012 Bucs.

Shame on you, Schein.

On his radio show, Schein said the Bucs “will win 9 or 10 games,” but in his new prediction for NFL.com, Schein claims the Bucs are a 7-9 team.

Disgraceful flip-flopping.

Joe finds it impossible to believe Schein puts that much stock in Davin Joseph’s injury, and it’s unclear whether Schein even submitted his prediction to NFL.com after Joseph blew out his knee.

Feel free to discuss this with Shein today during his SiriusXM NFL Radio show with co-host Rich Gannon. “The Blitz” starts at 11 a.m.; the studio line is (877) NFL- KICK.

Eh, he really only went back a game. That prediction is much more sound anyways, calling us a 9-10 team with new schemes on both sides of the ball is pretty ridiculous. Schein isn’t a homer, he’s a realist. 7-8 wins would be great this season

  2. Greig Says:

Maybe he’s taking into account how much Freeman is struggling.
If I remember right his 9 or 10 win comment was before training camp even began, now he’s seen the Bucs O generally stinking up the joint, as usual, he’s modified his expectations.
Most normal people alter their opinions/expectations based on new info, that’s all he’s done. Is he meant to stick by his prediction from before TC despite all the new info or risk being called out?

  3. Morgan Says:

Way to hold the national media accountable, but is this any different than hedging one’s bet in Vegas or submitting multiple NCAA tournament bracket sheets? While I never really viewed Schein as a credible analyst (what’s his resume?) he still gives the Bucs more credit that the Vegas odds do for the Bucs at only 6 and 100/1 odds to win the Superbowl.

    Another idiot without a clue

  5. Miguel Grande Says:

Who cares what this idiot thinks?

  6. Jonny 3.3 Says:

May be he saw Freeman play in the preseason…

  7. milos81 Says:

    Eh, who cares.

I find Schein incredibly annoying, rather grating on the ears. He’s probably right, anyway.

  8. TrueBlue Says:

    Much ado about nothing.

  9. Tye Says:

Saying they are a 7-9 win team may even be an act of generosity on his part after the way the Buc’s starters have look in preseason….. If the Bucs start the season off with several losses it will be yet another long, rough year as a Bucs fan! {UGH!}…. So ready for the season to get started and see what they can do!

Seven wins sounds about right, actually. Unless you’re a homer with his eyes closed to the reality of Josh Freeman. I’ve stuck by Freeman all this time but if he continues his preseason ways into the regular season and especially into the latter part of the regular season I will personally start researching QB prospects in the 2013 draft because I’m certain Dominik & Schiano will have already been doing the same.

No disrespect but Freeman still locks onto one side of the field even before the snap and does NOT scan the field through all his progressions. I’m starting to believe the pre-draft book on him which said he couldn’t read defenses and make proper pre-snap adjustments. I sincerely hope I’m wrong, both because I like Freeman and also we don’t need to be adding needs at the top of the draft right now.
