The leader of the New Schiano Order wants plenty of what he calls “execution” penalties
The leader of the New Schiano Order doesn’t want some pansy-ass soft football team that doesn’t commit penalties.
Being an aggressive Buccaneer Man means you’re going to drill skulls unintentionally at times, explained Schiano on WDAE-AM 620 Tuesday.
Schiano said he puts penalties in three categories: Selfish, Silly And Execution.
“Where you’re playing hard and you happen to fly over the top and hit somebody out of the hit zone” is how Schiano described “execution” penalties. “I don’t want to slow our guys too much down that way. Right? It’s a fine line between being physical aggressive football team and, you know, getting a flag. You gotta be careful. I don’t ever want to be the least penalized team in the league, because I don’t think you’re trying hard enough then,” Schiano said.
Well, what Bucs fan in his right mind wouldn’t get fired up if the Bucs had the kind of physical defense to draw those kinds of flags. Raheem Morris used to talk about being “violent,” but Schiano painted a much better picture with his definition.
During the interview, Schiano went on to talk about running when the defense puts eight guys in the box and how he defines “commitment to running the ball.” He also shared his philosophy on developing pass rushers. Take a listen below.

Coach Schiano sure sounds good, and I love his philosophy, but will we be able to perform up to those expectations is the real key here. If we hit the ground running come September 9th, we could be in for some football that hasn’t been seen around here since 2002! Not saying we’ll make the playoffs, but it should be a great season to build off of!

Schiano is who Rah-Rah aspired to be as a head coach…he just didn’t have the experience or know-how on how to do it.

I know what he’s saying but the 2 teams in last year Super Bowl were 2 of the least penalized teams. It’s OK to be agressive but I’m not sure I want to be a top 10 team in penalties. Middle of the pack sounds better. Penalties kill drives for us and keep drives alive for the opposition.

We are finally going to get back to playing real Buccaneer football.
I love the way Coach Schiano has approached this thing. First we are going to learn how to play with fundamental technique and get in shape. When we are done that we are going to take the next step of executing the fundamentals to the fullest extent every time with no excuses.
As a fan I can deal with not having as much talent as another team, but I never want to see the Bucs play with less heart and intensity. Thank you Coach Schiano, thank you so very much.

Once again the Little General issues a confusing decree that makes no sense at all and the Amen Chorus gushes how wonderful and genius he is. He’s truly exhibiting a Napoleonic Complex, but the emperor had his followers.
I’ll wager Preston Parker makes two bonehead plays this week to garner attention from the HC.
Someone this week asked the Joes if the players monitor this site, God I hope not. If the player’s reading comprehension skills are equal to some of JBF’s regulars, we may set a NFL record for personal fouls this season.
Jeez, Preston told me that Quincy told him that his agent explained to him that he had read somewhere that the Bossman wants penalties and lots of them, if we want to make this roster.

If I recall correctly Shula’s teams were routinely the least penalized.
No problem with them not trying hard enough.

why are you deflecting? it seems to me that you, by your comments, are the one not comprehending the subject. schiano did a great job of explaining his belief on penalties. i understood what he was saying and i am sure that his players do or they might find themselves moving on, which i wish you would.
why do you relish the role of troll so much? is it that boring where you are?

Just kind’a wondering what it would take for you to accept that Schiano is a good NFL Coach ? I’m not stating that he is or isn’t, mind you, but just wondered what ot would take for you to change your tune. Do you have any idea ? Would a play-off berth be enough ? Would it take that over several years, to do it ? Would winning a Super Bowl do it ? You’re so negative, it’s hard to believe anything would do it. How abou a declaration of you’re needs ? Got the nerve to go out on a limb?
