Joe appreciates readers that take time to send Joe news tips, as well as letters of thanks and the popular hate mail, which typically starts with “How dare you defend Dominik.“
But look around. Joe’s never had a “tips” button or a “contact us” page. Joe’s really not interested in getting hammered with nonsense when it comes to potential stories. This is not Bucs TMZ. Joe just doesn’t go there when it comes to players’ and coaches’ personal lives.
Joe brings this up now because Joe got hit with a couple of classic pieces of ridiculousness yesterday by two different readers. It’s rare that two of this kind of stuff would arrive in one day, and Joe thought he’d share as a way of telling people what not to send Joe.
The first was a wacky long tale of what was supposedly LeGarrette Blount reacting to a heckler in a Tampa Publix. Joe wrote back to ask the reader how he knew it was Blount, and right on cue the reader replied. “Well, I’m like 80 percent sure it was Blount.”
Next, a reader sent Joe a photo of Josh Freeman sitting in what looked like a very respectable establishment drinking what appears to be a beer as he sits in front of a plate of food. Of course, the reader insisted that Joe publish the photo and share his story about how Freeman had the nerve to consume this drink during an OTA week. … Yeah, like Joe’s going to blast Freeman for allegedly drinking a beer with his dinner.
Joe just thought he’d share to advise readers that this kind of stuff is not what JoeBucsFan.com is all about. Though Joe does enjoy the humor these tales and photos provide.
Joe’s all-time favorite? That has to go to the guy that once sent Joe a nearly inaudible audio file of what allegedly was Geno Hayes being too loud in a movie theater while a film was showing. Second place goes to an email that detailed an alleged conversation with the writer and a Bucs defensive lineman while standing side by side using urinals in a Tampa church bathroom.
Again, Joe appreciates the enthusiasm, but Joe just doesn’t go there.

Is it ok for “fans” to implicate a former Buc great trying to have sex with said fan’s under age daughter? I personally don’t see how that’s ok.

High Joe, (with a hand shake) If we haven’t introduce ourselves. We’re Tampa Bay fans. We are the ones that when things are going well in the eyes of others. We (TB fans) must dig for fault in something. We will not feel comfortable if things are going well. Also we’re the ones who let a stripe of water divide us. So how dare you write this piece making us look like dumb-asses? Get to know us first. And please, WE need more negative blogs. Because the season don’t start for another month and half. WE can’t wait for the first lose. So WE can have something to bitch about. Thank you for your time.

if we do go the TMZ route, I propose for some cheerleader’s going commando pictures getting out of cars. Otherwise just keep the good job on reporting the Bucs FOOTBALL stories.

LGB may have responded to a heckler, but who cares.
It is BS that ppl want to oust Bucs players just for the hell of it. They are ppl too, and I’m sure they enjoy not catching hell for bein out in public.

I absolutely couldnt agree less. You should not speak for buc fans and especially me. I am sick of the negativity, sick of the reading between the lines to find something wrong and bitch about. How about you become an EDUCATED bucs fan and bitch about facts. Being negative will only conttinue to divide and weaken our fan base in my opinion we need to talk about things that we are excited about this season, not things that we speculate on, negative things that we dont even know will happen or matter during the season. I understand things arent always positive but stop digging for negativity it sickens me.

Im a Bucs fan that will stick by MY team through thick and thin. I will never be ashamed to be a bucs fan because they are my hometown team and Bucs football is what I grew up loving. Thanks Joe for providing the BEST Bucs website in the world. To all the haters, F*** YOU AND GO BUCS!!!

I’ve been bangin this drum for YEARS. Unfortunately, we have some of the worst fans in the NFL, BUT, a majority of the negativity is from the local media in this area. Fans listen incessantly the negativity by the local media and naturally become negative themselves.

Unfortunately; there is a huge double standard when it comes to players in this town. First off I’m a huge Alstott fan, but the fact is I would see him out hammered ALL THE TIME! Not before games, but almost every other day of the week I would run into him. He was able to do this and get the job done so who cared. Now Freeman is out having a beer while he’s eating & gets attitude about it. These guys are just young men trying to enjoy themselves outside of work.
