Lightning Delays OTA; Blount’s Blocking Lesson

The fancy lightning detection equipment at One Buc Palace just went off after 11:30 a.m., which brought Greg Schiano to bark “to the locker room” and his Buccaneer Men followed in a sprint.
As Joe waits out the delay, Joe wants to share a recent sighting of LeGarrette Blount working directly in front of Preston Parker as the lead blocker sort of speak on kickoff returns. Schiano zeroed in during this drill on that position, and the head coach was all over Blount on his technique and approach, running out to about the 25 yard line to show Blount where he erred and to coach him up.
Running back hopeful Robert Hughes was next up in that role in front of Parker, and Schiano was effusive with his praise for Hughes’ blocking and then turned to Blount and barked, “Did you see that?”
Next up was undrafted rookie De’Anthony Curtis in front of Sammie Stroughter. Schiano was visibly upset with Curtis’ blocking, jumping up and slapping his leg, and as the team was running off for a brief break, Schiano called out, “Come here Curtis. I’ll tell you what you did wrong.”

Good Lord, my guys face lightning everyday, out cleaning roofs. If our football team runs inside every time a little lightning is in the area in the summer, how will they ever get enough practice in ?
This is Tampa, not New Jersey.

Im pretty sure it’s mandatory to go inside when lightning is present, talk about a massive law suit if something happens and they didn’t go inside. Better believe there getting coached inside.

1st round draft picks don’t block on special teams.

Slapping his lead? What is a lead? Is it possibly a misprint and he’s slapping his head?
Be careful what and who you slap, Little General, players may slap back.

Not many starting RB’s who serve as the lead blocker on kick return – and also not to mention were undrafted free agents making league minimum when there is a 1st round draft pick making nearly 4 mill guaranteed and 7 million total on the roster at the same position.
Sure Blount is the starter. lol

so, you allow your workers to work on a roof during a lightning storm? interesting.
Are you guys hiring, cause if so, I would love to be the one to get struck by lightning while working because my EMPLOYER told me to keep working on a roof during a lightning storm. I’m sure your insurance can cover the premiums… smh.
