Don’t look for the New Schiano Order appearing on Hard Knocks in future seasons. Greg Schiano explained his feelings during an interview today with Mike Florio on Pro Football Talk Live on NBCSports.com.
The Bucs head coach prefers to keep things as tight-lipped as possible.
“I personally am not a big fan of it,” Schiano said about the realities of a team being on Hard Knocks.
“I’m kind of more of a private guy. I look at my family and the Buccaneer family as kind of the same.”
The relaxed interview was a good peek inside Schiano, and it’s pretty clear Schiano won’t be coming out with any “race to 10” slogans anytime soon.
Asked to detail what would represent success for the Bucs in 2012, Schiano said his managerial focus is getting the most out of everyone daily and he doesn’t focus on end results. Schiano said his approach starts daily with himself, and then moves to everyone around him and holding everyone accountable.
It’s “wasted time” and “wasted energy,” Schiano said, to worry about the Bucs’ potential record.
“I peform for an audience of one, and it’s no one down here,” Schiano said, seemingly referring to a Higher Power and not team ownership.
Asked about struggling attendance in Tampa, Schiano says a major key to filling the stadium is “giving the community what they’re asking for.” He went on to explain he always tries to remember that fans want and expect an entertaining product.

Talk about refreshing. A man of faith and integrity as the head coach of our Bucs. I applaud every move Coach Schiano has made and will be patient awaiting the upcoming season and beyond with Coach Schiano leading our Bucs organization. He is the real deal folks. Adhere to his work ethic and plan or you are gone. Respectability for our beloved Bucs is now in sight. Go Bucs!

This is a very disturbing picture to me. Here is a guy who is not concerned about the Buc’s record, but he is very concerned about lining up correctly and the room temperature in the meeting rooms. He’s not a big picture type of coach but a small picture, micro manager of minute details.
To top it off, he’s believes he’s only accountable to a make believe deity in the sky. I am often surprised when people pull the Jesus card or the Easter Bunny card or the Santa Claus card or even the Allah card.
He better believe in wins vs losses because I for one am not buying into this crap that he is trying to sell. After a lifetime of successful businesses, I can tell you that the guy who is counting the toilet paper rolls instead of sales and the bottom line is going to fail.
Anyone who leads his employees in open prayers is on the verge of bankruptcy and has no solution to his problems. Once an evangelist convinced my mother in law that if she emptied out her life savings account and sent it to him, God would cure her leukemia. Thank goodness I caught that.
I am going to cut the Little General some slack, but I am beginning to have some serious reservations about this unsuccessful college coach moving into the big time. Its all about winning, its not about the electric bill or recycling plastic water bottles, room temperature, lining up correctly or make believe deities in the sky.
If there was a God, he would not give a crap about football.
I apologize to Joe for being controversial but I reserve my right to provide the opposite viewpoint to when everyone gushes about how wonderful the Little General is. Adult men gushing over other adult men frankly turns my stomach. That’s why, although I might admire a player, like Doug Williams or LeRoy Selmon, I would never appear in public wearing their jersies.

He didn’t play the Jesus card, he is saying that he (not you) performs for a higher purpose. Great coaches focus manically on the process knowing that if the do results are inevitable.
The attention to detail through tedious repetitive and focused practice emphasizing your strengths builds the best possible synergy from your team.
If you focus on results by talking about how great things are before putting in the hard and tedious work – you go an embarrassing 17-31.
Rambling and hyper Motivational speeches are worthless if you aren’t putting in the work. Schiano has a huge job of teaching these kids what work is. It will take some time for them to adjust.

I wonder if this piece was as disturbing to you as what you wrote is to me. First of all, you are an idiot for thinking he doesn’t care about the record. Talk about fishing for something negative. Even Thomas probably thinks you are off your rocker.
I don’t care if you are religious or not. That’s your choice and I won’t knock you for it. But for you to say that a higher power is imaginary is being extremely disrespectful to those that do believe. Glad to know you have all the answers, oh wise one. @Hawawaian Buc My mother in law was actually cured by those funny cigarettes. Not smoking them but actually eating hemp as part of her diet. Before the pharmaceutical companies bought our Congress in 1933 to outlaw Hemp there were over 5,000 medicines derived from Hemp.
One of the reasons I left the USA was freedom for medicinal marijuana
which cures just about any ailment including cancer, leukemia, heart disease, diabetes and many other fatal diseases.
I have cured many fatal diseases using Hemp which would have put me in prison had I stayed in the USA.
As for God, please show me some credible evidence that he or she exists.

Not sure how his interview disturbed you, all he said was that he was more interested in making sure his team was the best they could be from week to week and if he did that the wins would come.. Thats how it should be.

Seems kind of stupid to blame God for all the bad choices man makes. He didn’t create us as puppets, He gave us free will to do good and to do unspeakable evil as well. If there were no God there would be no good in this world and there is plenty of good. Of course bad things still happen to good people…Jesus is proof of that.

Here’s the thing, Sambizle (and notice I am speaking with respect),
God gave man free will. All of those things you mentioned are a result of people having the freedom to decide their own actions.
Even in regard to natural disasters…did you know that the Garden of Eden was designed in perfection? It had not bad weather. No tidal waves. no earthquakes. No swarms of locusts.
The Garden of Eden is how God intended the Earth to be. But…it is not because of Adam and Eve and the men (and women) that came after them. Man has polluted the earth. He has abused it.
That’s why, according to scriptures, God will “remake” the earth upon his return…to make it into what he always intended it to be. What sin has stolen from us.
Now…I realize you have a right to believe what you wish. Why? Because you have Free Will. So…if you go out and kill someone…does the child of the victim blame you or God?
Do you have kids? If so…are they perfectly behaved? Are they grown? Did you raise them to be a certain way, and did they depart from it? That’s because they have free will as well.
And if your kids do wrong…do you still love them? What if they turn to drugs, for example. Will you still love them? What if they want to move back home. Will you have rules? Will you allow the drugs in your home?
God loves us all no matter what. For some of us, it’s hard to grasp the concept, but it is true. He let’s us do as we want, when we want.
And if we want to go to heaven when we croak, he has rules just like any parent would. And just like any parent, if a child is willing to sincerely try to make better choices, he will help them along. And he will still love us…even if we “fall of the wagon” or such.

Oh…and btw, dope does not “cure” cancer. It relieves the pain associated with it. Perhaps you left the USA because of the reasons you claim, or perheps you didn’t. That’s between you and whoever.
Although, I suspect other elements also played a role in your return to Mexico…not just the fact that wacky weed is illegal.
