About Those New Schiano Order Rules…
May 6th, 2012New Bucs coach Greg Schiano just spoke with the Bucs pen and mic club today as scheduled Sunday practice was canceled.
Schiano hopes to keep anywhere “from 22-29” undrafted free agents and tryouts that packed the practice fields of One Buc Palace this weekend.
Among the things Schiano chatted about was his rigid discipline many of the players refernced this weekend, specifically how detail-oriented Schiano is, including the mandatory two-drink rule during meetings.
Schiano noted that he had many players in rookie mini-camp from places that aren’t exactly enjoying balmy weather this time of year, including the northeast, the Great Lakes region of the Midwest. Of course, that included first-round draft pick Doug Martin; the highs for Boise this week were in the low 60s.
“Doctors I’ve talked to say if you are too thirsty, it’s too late,” Schiano said of players who dehydrate. The two-drink rule is an effort to prevent dehydration.
Schiano admitted for Florida folks mid-80s isn’t terribly hot but that will soon change. Schiano wanted the players to get into the habit of hydrating themselves when not thirsty, so their bodies don’t break down on the practice fields, or worse, in games.

I keep getting more and more excited as I keep hearing more about how detail oriented Schiano is. I would love to work for this guy! I can imagine any pro football player would/will love playing for him…
Can’t wait for September, GO BUCS!!!!

You know it may seem silly at first. But now that I think about it, this should help keep our players on the field. There are a lot of game stoppage due to cramps. It worse if your top guy get a cramp and their is no real depth behind him. My only criticism about this is making it three drinks. Two seem too little.

The Little General rules with an iron fist. I think I will install a two drink minimum when I re-open my bar. I’m so excited.

Schiano is awesome, especially with the 2 drink rule.
Dehydration is a very real possibility in the hot Florida Sun.
Our employees are out cleaning roofs in this heat, and we have had a few suffer heatstroke, over the years.
One wound up in Tampa General.
Maybe we should require our employees to drink water, like Schiano does ?
I ask them to drink water, but do not require it.

This rule is excellent. I know the Bucs have placed an emphasis on hydration in the past but this rule, as simple as it is, is oddly cutting edge lol A more hydrated employee is a more productive employee. I’m betting this rule was created by Dominik as he has been here longer and understands how ridiculous the heat here can be, but either way I am very happy to hear this is happening.

So what?
Raheem frequently took players to establishments that had a two-drink minimum rule…
