T-Jax Finds A New Home With An Old Friend

April 13th, 2012
Oddly, the Redskins released a photo of Tanard Jackson signing his new contract today without him wearing any Skins gear or colors. Is that a roll of toilet paper in the background?

Apparently disinterested in serial loafer Sean Jones to bolster their secondary, the Redskins have latched on to troubled former Bucs cornerback Tanard Jackson to help them win a Super Bowl.

Jackson has signed with Washington, where he will attempt to be his best self again with Skins secondary coach Raheem Morris. The move was announced today.

The Bucs’ preseason and regular season games against the Skins just got more interesting.

Not much has been said about Janoris Jenkins here, but some have said he is the best cover corner in the draft. I know about all his off field issues but doesn’t coach Schiano want to give everyone a try at the new buccaneers way. Do you guys think he is worth a second round pick and draft Luke Kuechly in the first round, if we trade down? That would give us a good and smart LB and hopefully a productive Corner.

  2. princespanky Says:

They made him sign the contract in the bathroom so he could pee in a cup at the same time to save the administration money.

  3. BigMacAttack Says:

What a joke. Couldn’t see this one coming. Dom maybe should have attempted to trade Retanard for a late pick. Raheem has a buddy back to party with. Geno should be close behind. WooWooo!!!

I’d be surprised if Shanahan keeps any of them around for more than 6 games. Nonsense travels to DC.

  4. ben Says:

Im going to say it now, he Will make the pro bowl within the next two years,if he stays clean. I take it he passed the physical….

  5. Capt. Tim Says:

Ben- whaaat?? Lmao. Oh, yeah- ProBowl. Worst tackling safety in the entire league- next week- “Elite talent”
Never seen so many people who love trash before
All you have to do in Tampa is A) get suspended B) fail a drug Test C) suck at Football, while showing a total disreguard for yer teammates
Do that, and you’ll have morons crying how talented you

What is wrong with you “people”??

  6. Chris FWC Says:

    LOL @ Prince

As a Gator fan please stay away from JJ.

I know he’s wearing a hoodie but he doesn’t look like he’s in shape. What kinda rehab was he doing?

  7. Capt. Tim Says:

Closest Retard Jackson gets to a ProBowl, is buying “Maui wowie” from some other wasted pothead.

    Lmao

  8. Raymond Says:

Raheem can’t coach the idiot out of this guy. I admire Raheem’s devotion.

  9. bucfanjeff Says:

    Predictable.

  10. Capt. Tim Says:

Sadly apparent that Raheem has learned nothing from his experiences here!

  11. JS1506 Says:

OMG he signed with the redskins! i’m so SHOCKED.. well not really.

  12. AtlBucsFan Says:

He signed with Washington so he could hide behind Raheem when it comes to his personal life! No change in his personal life will ultimately impact his performance on the field. Glad he’s gone. Talib will be next.

  13. Thomas2.2 Says:

    I think this is awesome!

Reunite RahRah and players from the worst defense in NFL history on another NFC team – priceless.

Maybe RahRah can pick-up Talib and Winslow as well.

That RahRah has absolutely no clue what he is doing. It is very sad.

  14. Garv Says:

    This thread is also “predictable.”
Someone clue in the 2.2 jackwagon that Mike Shanahan is the head coach in Washington, not Raheem Morris. But any, ANY, exucuse the jackwagopn needs to repeat himself over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over andover and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over andover and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over andover and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, right?

Tannard is gone, be grateful and move ON!!!

  15. Thomas2.2 Says:

I heard that the picture is taken in rahrah’s office – since RahRah had to restart his career at the bottom, his Redskin office is the bathroom – just a chair in front of the washroom sink.

Since rah doesn’t write things down and since he uses no playbook and has no defensive system other than, youngry, they figured why waste the office space?

The great news about employing rah: his annual office supplies budget is zero.

  16. Macabee Says:

If Schiano keeps this up, pretty soon we’re going to have a team we can all love and respect. And if he can get them to win a few games, that will be an added plus!

  17. Thomas2.2 Says:

    Garv:

Still embarrassed by your boy’s epic debacle? Lol

Speaking of moving on, you may want to take your own advice: embrace it, the rahdom era was a laughingstock – Richard Williamson makes jokes about the 09-11 Bucs.

  18. Snook Says:

Thomas: Don’t forget about Bruce Allen either. He couldn’t draft a Pro Bowler while in Tampa, now he’s taking scraps off of the NFL’s worst defense.

  19. Snook Says:

Can they take Myron Lewis too?

  20. Snook Says:

    That picture is hilarious.

  21. Jrock Says:

@prince: L M A O – that should have been the caption on the picture man

  22. Capt. Tim Says:

Thomas- wasn’t it yer love intrest- lil Chucky Gruden, that drafted Retard Jackson? And Athief Taliban? And Quincy Jane Slack? And ” he no play” Hayes?
And signed “Sodimizing and pot selling” Jeremy Stevens?

And you still think THAT lil guy was good for the team?

    Lmao

We’re basically still taking out his trash!!

  23. Snook Says:

Good thing he signed earlier in the day. That way, he and Raheem can hit the town early. Maybe they’ll get some food and definitely drinks. Afterall, I’m sure they’re both pretty yungry.

  24. raphael Says:

    lmao !

  25. Snook Says:

Can we trade them Quincy Black for a pallet of sod?

  26. Snook Says:

Seriously, is that picture real? Everytime I look at it, it gets funnier.

  27. Snook Says:

    @Chris FWC

“I know he’s wearing a hoodie but he doesn’t look like he’s in shape.”

    ——————

Based on recent news, I’ve heard you shouldn’t make assumptions about guys in hoodies.

  28. BucFan20 Says:

Picture looks like he is so high now he can’t hold his head up even to look at the camera or sign the contract. Look at his eyes.

  29. OAR Says:

Blame it on Gruden? TOO F’N FUNNY!
Gruden didn’t seem to have any problems with those guys when he was coach. It was Raheem that let those guys go and do whatever they wanted. Plus, Im sure Gruden let Monte have a say in those defensive players that were drafted under him.
You guys crack me up. Raheem sucked as head coach, but if I remember correctly, when he was hired to be our CB coach he turned that portion of our defensive play and those guys around! Good luck to them both.
BTW didnt realize smoking pot and being injured made you trash?

  30. Snook Says:

BTW didnt realize smoking pot and being injured made you trash?
    ———————–

It doesn’t make you trash. But being suspended twice for failed drug tests and an inablility to show up to your team’s facilities for meetings considering they have a new coaching staff, doesn’t show very good judgement.

  31. OAR Says:

    Snook
NO $H!T!!!!! Like I said in another post yesterday, it was a good/smart move. I understand that, but I dont think the guy is a piece of trash because of it. He did it to himself!

  32. OAR Says:

Unfortunately, I do think he is talented though. And no, not “elite” talent CapTim. I do know he played with a torn rotator cuff last and the WHOLE TEAM quit not just him.

  33. eric Says:

Please lets go back to that mess of division championships.

And that lil think they call the Super Bowl.

    Pleasssssssssse

  34. George Says:

You’re talking about a guy who brings a lot of energy, a lot of ball skills, and things of that nature.

  35. OAR Says:

    eric
    I concur!

  36. Bobby Says:

The whole team will be thinner. Word was that all Tanard had to do was walk into the locker room and everyone got the munchies.

  37. Lion Says:

    LMAO @ princspanky’s comment.

  38. Mr. Patrick Says:

Funny how the Redskins say they are committed to winning now, but they keep signing players the were released from or not re-signed by a team that lost 10 straight games. Not to mention the worst head coach/d-cord from last year. And Shanahan is suppose to be a football genious?

  39. Have A Nice Day Says:

    Good for him!

Pot Smokers are the trash of life

  42. teacherman777 Says:

@Oar- You are an evolved thinker. To be honest, why is herb on the banned substance list? I dont think it is a ‘performance enhancer’ but it does however have some uses as a natural painkiller.

I am happy T Jackson is getting another chance. Everybody deserves them.

But I am also happy he is gone. He is clearly not motivated to become who he used to be. Players need to stay motivated. And he clearly lost his will to develop. (maybe its the herb. Its been known to do that)

Anyway, he has a lot of potential. I just hope Ahmad Black and Devin Holland do too.

But we definitely lost a good player this week.

  44. 941-Bucs Says:

You already know it was Raheem who took that picture lols.

@Jvato I heavily disagree with you. I will not get into a huge lecture so you can hear about the pro’s and cons of marijuana, especially against legals narcotics like Alcohol and pharmaceutical medication. There are many many very good people who smoke pot and are still progressive citizen’s. I don’t knock there are some who are just scums of life. But that is more the person then the drug. Weed is not as bad as people make it out to be. Far less dangerous then alcohol, Cigarette’s, and Pharmaceutical Medicine’s.

    Just saying.

  45. Mark Says:

Notice the TP is half used, I think he was toking on a rolled, fat, TP blunt. Maybe on a more experienced team he will change. On our team he would have been a bad example and influence.

  46. ben Says:

He didnt have a good season last year but he played hurt and been out for a year. just like most typical tampa fans most of you seem to have short term memory. before he was suspended he made clutch plays that won games,(he had 5 int, 2 returned for td’s in 12 games) I never said it wasn’t the right move for the team. It was the right move for them to make for what they need to do to turn the team around. He will have a better season next year than anyone the bucs replace him with though. When that happens im sure you will forget this by then just like you forgot how he played before his suspension. He was never arrested, Shelton Quarles was and i don’t hear any cries for the bucs to kick him out the front office lol. Everyone wants to get on the internet and kick his ass on the way out but probably the same people that dont show up to the games when they lose a few or didnt in the first place then bitch about it not being on TV. If you are any kind of real bucs fan you would at least recognize what he did at that position before the suspension.

  47. Have A Nice Day Says:

If smokers are the trash in life, what does that make drinkers?

  48. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I just read the article for Pewter Report, and they stated there will still be other “screw-ups” cut. They also said the team will probably cut the fringe players that are addicted to Twitter. Supposedly the team has told the players to limit your tweets, but some haven’t listened. They stated that was a big reason Geno Hayes isn’t coming back (I thought it may have been because he wasn’t any good at playing LB). They mentioned Ahmad Black as one of those guys (I follow him, and he tweets so much I’m ready to unfollow him). Schiano and staff clearly aren’t putting up with any BS, which is the perfect thing for this team.

Yeah, smokem if you got em, and all. But if you have a job that pays big money, $Millions$, and your boss says “put down the pipe” and you don’t do it, get a 2’nd chance and still don’t do it, you’re an idiot. Tanard is idiot. Fairley is an idiot. All these players that get busted with weed are beyond stupid. You’re going to play football for 5, maybe 10 years, make millions, and you can’t stop smoking weed to do it? You have the intelligence level of a baboon. Sorry, a baboon is probably more intelligent than you are. I can give a little pass in college because you aren’t getting paid (unless you play for Ohio State) but in the pros, big money on the line, totally ate up with the dumba$$.

  52. jvato24 Says:

They arent dumbasses for smoking … They are dumb asses for not figuring out how to pass a pee test

I always figured it would be much more glamorous to sign an NFL contract. Toilet paper in the background is far from what I had envisioned.

  56. Miguel Grande Says:

Weed is not a real problem in this game. It’s a natural painkiller without the detrimental side effects of alcohol. I went to a dentist for a bad tooth, he wrote me a script for 30 oxycontin, went to a specialist to pull it and he wrote me a script for 60 oxycontin. These are opiates, a direct derivative of heroin. This is why our children are fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan, for the proliferation of heroin, opium and oxycontin. The Taliban had virtually eliminated opium from their country.

Our armed forces now proudly protect and serve the opium farmers.

    http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/dyinginafghanistan.php

If Tanard Jackson had simply been prescribed oxycontin and become a junkie, he would still be a Buccaneer.

    ————————————————————–
I remember when they started Pee testing in the Marine Corps. It was right around the time Ronald Reagan took office. When you faced the head, you had a Staff NCO on one side and a Junior Grade Officer on the other, watching you. There was absolutely no way you would do anything other than pee in the cup. I don’t know how the NFL does it, but many places will make you leave a door open, and some will check you first. Hard to say, may get lucky, get some privacy, but with $Millions on the line, is it worth it? I think not. Give up the pipe already. What’s the big deal?

  58. Mr Lucky Says:

Joe that wasn’t toilet paper in the background it was a large roll of wrapping papers; TJ signed his contract in the Skins toke room!

  59. Garv Says:

Apparently there are still some less than intelligent folks who don’t get it.
This is not about “weed” being good or bad for you, being legal or not, being better or worse than beer.

It’s against the law and the NFL suspends players who are caught using it or with it in their system. Follow? Still with me?

So…..and here’s the hard part for dullards to grasp, if a player knows all this, is told it over and over and over again, does it, gets suspended for it and does it again? Well, that makes that player irresponsible, unreliable, and probably not the kind of player who can be counted on.

But hell, it’s harmless so he should not have been released………..in IDIOTWORLD!!!!

  60. Capt. Tim Says:

    Miguel.
No, I’m sure that somewhere, there is some idiot spin doctor trying to spin it.

It’s the muslim acts if terrorism in all Christian countries that might have a little something to do with it. Like blowing up the Trade centers.

Or the plans to introduce biological weapons in the water supply. Or blow up Scools , churches, Disney World.

It’s the little things, liking blowing up women and children because they’re Christians, that make some people ticked off.

I don’t think our young people would suffer what they go thru, over opiates, there buddy.
I wouldn’t risk my life and limbs to promote heroin.
You wants grow it? It’s all about you

A great many good people would- and have- risked everything to protect faith, family and country from those who are dedicated to our eradication from the planet.

Good part is, the are wiling to defend those, who aren’t smart enough to appreciate their sacrifices.

At that, I apologize for the the Non-Buc related Rant, and my Soap box time

    But to me, it’s important

Looking at some of these posts you’d think the guy killed a bus load of nuns on a drunken rampage or something of the like.

    Here’s how simple it is:
    – Dude has some football talent and plays well when motivated and healthy
    – Dude likes to smoke his weed
    – Dude is lacking in decision making and gets busted on a scheduled test
    – Dude plays some more decent football
    – Dude get’s busted again, and suspended one year
    – Dude comes back, flashes some then get’s injured (time away hurt him)
    – Dude plays like crap on one of the worst D’s in NFL history
    – Dude makes another horrible decision and misses the first week of OTA’s with a new coaching staff that was looking for someone (higher profile and likely overpaid) to make an example of!

Tanard didn’t get arrested, hurt anyone or incite a riot, he just proved again that he’s not that smart.

I don’t think this guy is a thug or a sinister person. and hopefully he can get his sh*t together in DC . It is dissapointing though, this guy played some decent ball for a bit there. You now Dom thought there was something there with that extension and hoped to keep him around, but he just fu**ed it up again and for the last time…

With all this being said, I really hope the Bucs have a good plan in the draft for this secondary, not to mention the LBs. As of now, in my opinion; they’re in big trouble…

  64. Pete Dutcher Says:

    ElioT is exactly right.

Ironically, in regard to Talib and Tanard, some Tampa fans have decided to judge them according to whether they have been arrested or broken the law only. While that certainly plays a large role, sometimes the reason a player is cut is simple. He no longer fits in.

  65. Capt. Tim Says:

Moving out to the panhandle in a week!!

Never gonna make all the home games !!!

Aw, at least I’m still in the good ole USA! And even get to stay in Florida this time!

  66. Mr Lucky Says:

This is not about the legality of smoking weed its a lot more simple than that:

Can Tanard Jackson be counted upon by his teammates to follow the rules?

    Obviously not.

  67. Capt. Tim Says:

Miquel Grande- and another sad part of the story, that you misrepresented so badly.
Another issue of concern is our “allies ” in South and Central America.
They not only refuse to respect our soveigntry By helping maintain our borders, they actually encourage that our borders be compromised.

They encourage there population- and whoever else blends in with them- to disreguard treaties, laws , and agreements- and enter my country illegally.
This is due to the poverty, corruption, and lack of bacic human requirements that has been the legacy of these countries for the hundreds of years they have been self governing!
Good job guys- way to not take a step foward!

They encourage their citizens to illegally enter here. Work. Pay no taxes, then ship the money back to their homeland.
Where the corrupt government swoops in a takes it!

And this already horrible senario, has an even worse possibilty.
It has created well traveled unground entry ways into our country- that terrorist can use as easily as our Latin American ” allies”

    That about right- Miguel Grande?
