The only reason we should draft a running back in first round is to F with Blount. He needs to be put in his place. His antics are wearing thin on the entire league. Competition will do him good.
@Macabee — Joe saw that alleged schedule a few days ago and Joe’s really not interested in running with wild rumors, as fun as that might be. Let’s just leave it where it is right now. Thanks for asking.
I have heard the same things about Wilson but his skills are still 2nd round material, I’m not advocating for him but just bringing him up as an option.
I believe LaMichael James will be available in the 3rd round. Rainey or Demps should be available in later rounds. Any one of them will do great running behind the devastating blocks of future Hall of Fame tackle, Matt Kalil. Two ducks are better than one.
I can’t answer that without knowing who is there at 5. Or knowing if we trade down or not. right now, today, the only player I would take over Richardson is Claiborne. If it’s Claiborne, than RB in R 2.
I’m really surprised how many people think we should take a RB in the first round. I don’t disagree that Richardson is a great overall back, but with all the CB’s that are going to go in the first round we need to pick up one. The 2nd round will have good RB to select from cause honestly there maybe 2 RB taken in the first and that’s a BIG MAYBE. I think it will just be Richardson and for us to pick 4th in the 2nd round(36 overall) there’s a good choice of RB that we can take.
I’m surprised how many would go 1st round. I like Blount and think he’s a talented running back. There are soo many other positions that are more of a concern. I would look for someone small and quick in the later rounds
William Middleton is just like having M.Lewis, E.Biggers, and A.Gator. So why would we add him when we got 3 just like him. Honestly I think our CB’s are better than Middleton. We need an Elite CB to take the place of Barber next year. I can’t wait to see how Ron Cooper works with are CB’s. Hopefully he can get some more push from Biggers and Lewis.
CRAZY AS HELL to think LMJ is gonna be a 3rd rounder!!! HE CAN HELP OUR OFFENSE!!! THINK SPROLES!!! Grab him in the 2nd, wheel and deal future picks or something if you wanna BIG TIME in 2-4 Rounds. I’m telling you – YOU WAT A GEM??? Cliff Harris ,CB Oregon; and Ron Brooks ,CB LSU… We get these guys in 5-7 rounds and we have BALLERS at their spots…

@Admin,
I got an advance copy (unofficial) of the Bucs Schedule. Should I post it or wait for you?

@canadian,
I might have heard the same thing, but only a rumor. I have no further comment on the schedule!

How about when he’s the best player available
April 8th, 2012 at 10:07 am
@big007,
Even though the Bucs are bringing in David Wilson to get a closer look, he has been labeled a fumbler. That is the kiss of death with Schiano!

the only way i pick a RB in the first is for a guy like trent, other than that, i would pick up lamichael james in the 3rd

We’re still without a serviceable LB corps. I’d love to see Claiborne, LB, RB….

Trent Richardson @ # 5.
BPA, at every single draft pick.

Our problems are CB and LB, NOT RB
There are still FA RB out there such as Cedric Benson and Ryan Grant plus lots of possibilities in rounds 3 and later.
I’ll bet that Houston is glad they spent a first round draft pick on Adrian Foster right? NOT

Why don’t the Bucs go after William Middleton from the Jags?????

@canadianbuc
Agreed! We need a CB and a RB badly! if we signed Fletcher, we could wait until the 3rd round to get a younger LB!
April 8th, 2012 at 2:37 pm
Cb
Lb
Rb
April 8th, 2012 at 4:57 pm
Middleton is way better than Biggers, Gator and Lewis.
I’m just not sure that IF the Bucs sign Clayborne he’ll be able to find his way to Tampa, nevertheless reading an NFL playbook!

Joe has yet to see/read anything from any respected draft/NFL analyst to suggest LMJ to be anything higher than a third round pick.
April 9th, 2012 at 8:43 am
Cool! At least the majority of The guys here realize we have bigger issues than Rb.
My faith is restored
