Schottenheimer Made Players Cry
January 13th, 2012There are typical endorsements, and then there’s the rare heartfelt kind that exude love, devotion and respect.
Four-time Pro Bowl receiver Joe Horn spent the first few years of his career playing for Marty Schottenheimer and the Kansas City Chiefs before becoming a star in New Orleans. Speaking today on The Dan Sileo Show on WDAE-AM 620, Horn said some of his former Chiefs teammates “literally would cry in meetings when Marty Schottenheimer talked.” Why? “Because we saw how much Coach Schottenheimer loved us, how much he really cared.”

Jax already grabbed a coach and are starting to fill their coordinator spots.
The Glazers must be waiting for a playoff coach, otherwise they are a bunch of morons who cant run this team.

Bucs players made fans cry!

Jax better grab the good coordinators. With Mularkey they’re going to need them.

I am gonna CRY if we don’t get Marty. I mean what the hell, who can possibly be a “better” more Proven coach who is out there, and WANTS to come to Tampa.

@CC: “Bucs players made fans cry!”
BWHAHA!

the fact that the Bucs haven’t signed him is a clear sign there is a power struggle or potential for a power struggle between he and dom

You know, since the Buc’s tickets are so expensive, this essentially isolates their market to people who can afford to go. So why not cater to your older fanbase Glazer boys, and get an older coach in here. You might have a chance of getting more people to buy tickets with a proven coach who the “have’s” can relate to… as opposed to Raheem’s fanbase of the “have nots”.

They can bawl like newborns if they tackle a rb before a ten yard gain.

Good Point Turn The Page.
I am 57, but it is older people who have the money, like you said.
We remember Marty Scottenheimer, and some of us are alienated by hiring unproven “Kids” to both run, and coach a team.
Want to excite us “old folks” ?
Hire either Jerry Angelo or Bill Polian as general manager, and give us Marty Scottenheimer.
Let Proven people build us a team.
IMHO, both Mark Dominik and Raheem were an experiment, an experiment that didn’t work.
Part of the experiment still remains.
Insanity is repeating the same mistake, expecting a different result.

Shefter reporting that Bucs recieved permission today to interview Zimmer.

Hey Joe- What happened to the “Mooch” interview? I have been looking foward to it……

Hope to get to it today. Got sidetracked and typing out and transcribing interviews is time consuming.

Marty would be great, but I am convinced that Dom & Co. want someone with a weaker personality. I am sure Dom doesn’t want to be challenged by the coaching staff.
Can anyone think of a good x & o coach, who’s tough on players, but has a weak, non-confrontational personality?
If you can, that’ll be our guy

“Insanity is repeating the same mistake, expecting a different result.”
Browns hire Belicheck, Bill Belicheck was fired from the Browns
Patriots hire Belicheck, Bill Belickeck wins Super Bowls
Patriots hired him just like the Browns … Guess it kinda craps on that theory.

Great just what we need. Soften up the players even more than they are already.
