Was Sean Jones Loafing Again?

Joe’s heard the “loaf” term tossed around One Buc Palace. Not loaf, as in what Donald Penn might mow down with a pound of sliced roast beef, but “loaf,” as in players giving up on plays.
Supposedly, the Bucs berate and punish players for such acts.
Loaf talk rumbled when the Bucs were torched violenty in San Francisco, and then there was more public loaf chatter after the Bucs got belted in the face at home by the Houston Texans.
For Joe, it was obvious Sean Jones was a loafer against Houston.
Joe doesn’t have an exact definition of how the Bucs define a loaf, but Joe thinks Jones was at it again yesterday. Check out this NFL.com highlight by clicking here. You’ll see Blaine Gabbert tossing a bomb, which was caught behind Jones in centerfield. Jones then chases the receiver headed for the end zone and appears to slow down and look at E.J. Biggers trying to tackle the guy, before Jones then decides to try harder.
Feel free to give your take on the play in the comments, but for Joe this was a “loaf” by Jones. How do you step off the gas when the guy who beats you is near the end zone and your teammate is trying to take him down?
Before the game on the Buccaneers Radio Network, rockstar general manager Mark Dominik talked about how he wants to see the Bucs be a “pursuit team” on defense with “four, five, six guys swarming to the football.”
Apparently, Jones doesn’t read those emails.
Surely, Jones isn’t in the Bucs’ future as the “lasting contender” era marches on. Joe’s not seeing the harm in planting Jones on the bench the rest of the way.

Yeah I saw him do the same thing .but Raheem said on that play Jackson forget about what coverages he was in …. Imagine that he forgot . Wonder if he can pass a drug test . But no we give him a extension .

I’m not a Jones fan at all. I want to see Ahmad Black in there and see what the kid can do. I mean what’s the excuse for not seeing more of Gaitor and Black…..we might lose???

Jones was definitely not running full speed and avoided initial contact when he saw biggers was closer. Bench him.

Dude is expendable and, easily replaceable. I’d like to see what we have in Ahmad Black… then again, I’m a pretty big Gator’s fan (football has not been kind to me this year).

What is really sad is that the guy loafing is leading the team in tackles. Maybe he is just tired from all the tackling.

Been saying this all year in the beginning of the year through the season and now the end. Jones is a scrub and shouldve been benched a long time ago. He sucks and gives up play after play. Yea sure tjax forgot the coverage morris. I think your trying to stick up for this bum thats been playing ss for you all year and has been a loafer. Put his A$$ on the bench where he belongs and play black at least he’ll give maximum effort.
