Report: Earnest Graham Done For Season

Sad news coming out of NBC Sports, specifically the creator, curator and overall guru of ProFootballTalk.com, Mike Florio.
Florio is reporting that Earnest Graham has torn his Achilles and is out of the year.
Joe’s already written about the inevitable Tiki Barber rumors about to descend on One Buc Palace. This sort of throws gasoline on that flame.
Joe’s pretty down about Graham, who is a great guy and an excellent football player. But the big knock on Graham entering this season is that he battled injuries for four consecutive seasons. And now it’s five in a row.
Joe suspects this is a permanent goodbye for No. 34.

The hope is that he’ll return in N.O. but the Bucs haven’t said much.

Hope this isn’t official, but unfortunately it is.
Such a shame. Graham proves everyone wrong last week and shows us he still has it. And then this happens.
I have a lot of good memories of watching Graham in a Bucs uniform, espeically back during the 2007 and 2008 seasons. And then he basically had his job taken away from him and was wasted at fullback. Imagine what could’ve been if we had left him at RB. We probably would not have been 3-13 in 09 and probably would’ve made the playoffs last season with Blount having more help.
Whether it’s with the Bucs or some other team, I hope Graham can continue his NFL career next year. Very talented player that never really got a fair chance in his career.

The Bucs may want Bradford back for obvious reasons, but how would Bradford feel about that? He was cut by Seattle and cleared waivers, then was placed on Seattle’s PS. He probably retained his rookie minimum salary, and is reacquainted with his old college coach. What would be his incentive to return to the Bucs who voiced displeasure with his tip-toe running style when he was cut the first time. This may be a logical choice, but I wouldn’t bank on it!

snook: Are you an idiot? Bradford was demoted to the practice squad of Seattle two days ago and the Bucs can sign him back any time they want now. He’s no longer on the active roster and it’s open season if the Bucs want him back. They were disappointed that Seattle snatched him off waivers in the first place as they wanted to develop him on their own practice squad. There’s a good chance they sign him back at this point.
And what does this have to do with Raheem? You should change your name from snook to red herring, since you throw out statements that are completely off topic.

My understanding is that Graham has a torn achilles tendon. That sounds like IR to me. If he is lost for the season, I would tend to agree with Joe that it’s sayonara!

Hey snook- If you had a brain you would know he was talking about the Bucs signing Bradford back off Seattle’s practice squad which they demoted him to.

Graham has been a good player for a long time. Not sure we would have won the South in 2007 without his able assistance,
I bet Mr. Graham will have something to say about whether he is done. dont count him out IMO.

Another cheap move by team Glazer and Dominick left the Bucs with no offense in the second half. Nobody questioned Dominick when he failed to pickup a backup to Blount in the offsseason and now our penny pinching ways have come back to haunt us. As terible a day as Freeman was having if we had ANY run game in the second half maybe Freeman doesn’t feel so inclined to throw up his 3rd and 4th interceptions. Thanks Dom your magic is running out. Now we have no running backs except the much maligned Kregg Lumpkin. Go LUMPY GO!!!!!! Why we did not make a move at the trading deadline totally escapes me. Now we are as messed up as we could be.

All jokes aside, our RB position is severely screwed. Now we have to bank on LB coming back healthy and not getting injured the rest of the year with only Lumpkin to spell him and an undrafted rookie who we literally just signed off waivers. Hate to say it because i know it goes against “the plan” but we need a vet in here to spell LB, at least the vet backs are proficient in blocking schemes and can help protect Josh. Ugh, I suddenly have heartburn.
