It’s Arizona, Not Tampa, For Super Bowl 2015
October 11th, 2011Well, the NFL owners have voted this afternoon and hosed Tampa for the 2015 Super Bowl.
That sucks, though one would think Tampa would be the frontrunner for 2016 after now hitting runner-up status for ’14 and ’15.
Read here why Joe thought the NFL owed Tampa.

Could be worse. At least we didn’t lose to place like D.C. or Philly.

I knew we were doomed when I heard Stu Sternberg was on the voting committee.

Cold weather Super Bowls are the new in thing.
If I could afford a ticket, I might care. Otherwise I’d say we already have enough tourists and transplants clogging up Dale Mabry.
If I can’t feel the boost of the local economy in my personal pocket, then I don’t care.
I’d definitely be eating my words though if the Bucs ended up playing in the game.

im fine with that, to be fair i guess to that season this young team will be at that super bowl and no one who hosted the game has ever won it

Espo, there is no real boost to the economy from Super Bowls. Generally it helps the businesses in the local area but takes money away from other surrounding areas. All in all the extra money is practically balanced considering the expense the Tampa government would spend to cater the event. Where a few businesses in Tampa will benefit e.g. restaurants and hotels, businesses in st. pete, clearwater etc will have less business than normally because their customers are somewhere else.

Would have been nice to have home field advantage…but lets be honest….the Bucs play better away anyway 😉

What sucks is that we won’t be getting it in 2016 either…that’s Super Bowl 50. Goodell has practically already promised that one to L.A.
2017 here we come? 🙁
