BSPN Ranks Bucs No. 12 In NFL; Saints No. 5
October 18th, 2011A certain polarizing TV news talking head certainly would call this “the most ridiculous item of the day.”
The geniuses over BSPN.com, guys like “The Professor,” John Clayton, and company, have scrutinized all things NFL and determined that the Bucs (4-2) are the 12th best team in the league and the Saints (4-2) are No. 5 overall.
Enough said. You can read all the weekly BSPN Power Ratings here.

It doesn’t matter.
BSPN’s ratings don’t count for spittle.
Being in first place in the South after beating the Saints COUNTS!
What some “expert” on BSPN or anywhere else “thinks” counts for………….

F’em all! F the Haters, and F the media. This team is doing it’s think whether you are supporting them or not.
Keep turning the non-believers into believers. Because the sky is the limit and you guys are astronauts.
Go Bucs!
October 18th, 2011 at 6:15 pm
That’s ok….NFL.com has the Bucs at #10
October 18th, 2011 at 6:23 pm
What planet is Fox on?????Saints at #3 and Bucs at #16??? Wtf.
October 18th, 2011 at 6:43 pm
Sorry about my out busrt. I’ve been wanting to say that for a while now. I know this team is young and you can point out all kinds of things wrong with them.
Can’t we have some GOOD news once in a while? It doesn’t matter if they over achieved last year. These kids are doing something special. We have a chance to watch a brand new team grow and become something together. It’s not just the same old team rotating people in and never really evolving.
I know it’s a change and a lot of people are afraid to accept change. But, This really could be a good thing in the making. Just enjoy watching the growth.

Two words: first place.
I’m honestly surprised that network even remembered to put the Bucs in! I remember watching an awful draft review, I believe it was in 07. Trey Wingo and whatever moronic loudmouth ex player he was with was going over every team along with the bozo that is Todd McShay. They were doing the NFC South last, so it was at the bottom of the hour. I sat and waited the whole time, the time finally arrived, and they reviewed the Panthers, Saints, and Falcons. That’s it, I swear on my life.
BTW power rankings are probably the dumbest things I’ve ever seen, yet some people are obsessed with them. Why don’t fans look at real life power rankings that matter, they’re called “standings”.

The professor pisses me off. Just yesterday he was on saying that there was no way that the Bengals would ever trade Palmer. Saying how mike brown is stubborn and it wont happen, well Professor, maybe its time to go back to school, anybody can be had. The Bucs beat the Saints, interception after interception, maybe when the bucs are division champs those idiots will give Raheem and the bucs their just due. Raheem turned a 3 and 13 season into 10 and 6, and should have been coach of the year, but the media was to busy bowing to belicheck. The professor! HA

i dont know who &h!t in who’s cheerios but there is a definite hatred for tampabay area sports franchises ive seen from a lot of so called “mainstream” sports outlets. WHAZZUP WIT’ DAT?
October 18th, 2011 at 7:48 pm
BASTARDS!!!!
October 18th, 2011 at 7:54 pm
They should be vaporized!
October 18th, 2011 at 8:13 pm
ha, this is espn we’re talking about here. normal teams that go about their business dont fit the agenda.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:19 pm
That ranking will certainly hurt the Bucs in the BCS.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:28 pm
wow…are these sportswriters serious? I’ve been cautious to think highly of this team but that NO game sold me across the board. I wonder if they’re even aware of this weekend’s scores.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:40 pm
I could care less where anyone ranks us. Last I checked, the NFL is not the BCS, so it means absolutely nothing. Put us at #32 if you want. Just keep winning games.
October 18th, 2011 at 8:41 pm
From watching bspn over the last few days, I’m.not sure if there were any other games besides Philly-Washington, Dallas-NE and Detroit-SF.

“Pooping feels good, but we don’t eat poop. It’s gross, it has mud in it.”
This was a qoute from my three year old son a few minutes ago. I share this because it’s more sound wisdom than you’ll get in a full hour of NFL analysis on ESPN.

I wonder if these jobs are counted in some sorta fairness act…you know giving jobs to those less intelligent to meet some quota for IQ average for a company or somethin’.
Anyway, when will we get that “signature win” according to the media? We beat last year’s NFC #1 in the falcons, we beat the division leading Saints. Those aren’t quality?
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/899342-nfl-picks-week-7-predictions-for-every-nfc-south-matchup
This link states that the Bucs could get a signature win they’ve been looking for this week against the Bears…yet they say it’ll be a cakewalk (Bucs by 20). I don’t get it. If the Bears are that bad, how is it signature and the Saints not?
Let’s just win a super bowl already so we can get bumped up to #11 in the power rankings!!!
But, after all, it’s only gray matter.
GO BUCS!
October 18th, 2011 at 9:06 pm
Just win and stop begging for respect…Who needs respect from a biased source anyway that admittedly talks more about the Cowboys losing more than the Pats taking the win.
October 18th, 2011 at 10:26 pm
Who the heck is John Clayton anyway? He looks like the kid who handed out towels as the other kids (who actually could make the team) got out of the shower. Has this guy ever put on a jock strap?
October 19th, 2011 at 12:26 am
Is Bucs game this weekend going to be 1 pm their time or 1 pm our time? Nationally televised?
October 19th, 2011 at 1:29 am
lol our time of course, remember last year? The NFL would never allow a game to be broadcast at 6am eastern.
October 19th, 2011 at 1:41 am
I guess it could always be as simple as “the saints haven’t lost a game by 45 points yet”….nah….I’m sure its an elaborate media conspiracy.
October 19th, 2011 at 2:28 am
Lol, who cares if the Saints are ranked ahead of the Bucs, honestly that seems plausible to me. We beat them sure, but they are the better team still.
What is really baffling is this Fox chick ranking the REDSKINS of all teams 4 spots ahead of the Bucs. Explain that one honey.
October 19th, 2011 at 6:56 am
Gotta look at the body of work when publishing “power rankings.” We got stomped by the 49ers, and didn’t look all that great even in most of our victories this year, so we still have a lot to prove when it comes to consistency. That said, GO BUCS!
October 19th, 2011 at 7:38 am
Well, that’s what you get for beating one of their pet team’s !! Im sure they’ve already warned Buc management- if the Bucs beat the Saints at home in 2 weeks, they are gonna drop us 4 more spots!! And they mean it!
No matter how bad they suck, you don’t beat the cowboys, Saints, Jets, Michael Vick, or Brett Farve without major disciplinary action by BSPN. Those are the best teams and players, no matter what those annoying standings show!
October 19th, 2011 at 8:21 am
I think raheem morris is the best coach to have with such a young team and so many doubters. Say this because raheem is making these guys beleive and having a us against the world mentality. Everytime these players are playing with swagger and there hitting the teams like the oh so beloved “saints and falcons” right in the mouth. Raheem gets something out of each player that i dont beleive any other coach could. Bring on the bears!! CANT WAIT!! And go bucs.

Man besides an actual game, I pass right past that network. All they care about is a handful of teams. That just seems like terrible journalism to have Ed Werder standing around Dallas waiting to report who is going to use the restroom next. The mainstream public just still eat their crap up all day, and instead of finding another outlet for news they just keep tuning in. Unbelievable… But I’m in the tech business and I see the same garbage with the mainstream in regards to the isheep of the world. Isheep blindly stand in a field and buy every I device Apple tells them they should buy….Even if it’s last years hardware advertised as ‘revolutionary’…. Screw BSPN.

I never watch ESPN ever (except when Bucs were on) and I really don’t miss it at all. The NFL network is much better. But as far as the rankings, which who really cares, it means nothing, I think both teams are ranked where they should be. Teams that get blown out 48-3 don’t really deserve much respect unless they can string a few wins together after the fact. Plus if not for the late int from Brees and Freeman possibly having another great comeback, can someone tell Olson it’s ok to get a lead and continue to add to it, the Saints win and are 5-1. As stated before it really means nothing. The Bucs just need to keep winning and it will take care of itself. Go Bucs!!
October 19th, 2011 at 1:33 pm
so we loose to the 4th and 6th ranked teams for our only two losse and beat the 5th ranked team.. okay i see where 12th comes into play..
October 19th, 2011 at 2:41 pm
Now that we beat the Saints (winning record) and the Falcons are now a 500 club, does that mean we are not just beating teams with bad records? What a bunch of hogwash.
