Ronde Barber Is “The Goat”
September 27th, 2011Nickname-happy Raheem Morris brought us “The Wolfs” last week. (No. Not wolves. Wolfs.)
And now, channeling Muhammed Ali and/or perhaps a twisted memory of Sabby Piscitelli, Raheem has bestowed a new nickname upon Ronde Barber.
Around One Buc Palace, Raheem says Ronde Barber is known as “The G.O.A.T.” Speaking on The Raheem Morris Show last night on WDAE-AM 620, Raheem explained that Barber’s nickname stands for Greatest Of All Time.
Joe has to tip his cap to the head coach. Raheem The Dream is pretty darn good at this nickname stuff.

There can only be one GOAT.

Joe, so this whole time you were referring to
Sabby as the greatest? I had no idea. lol =)

I mean, Raheem was suggesting that both the safeties resemble a single movie character named “the Wolf,” so it seems plausible to me that the correct plural would actually be “Wolfs.”
I must be late to the party. We probably got into this over in the last comment section, right? God knows the Internet is the grammar Nazi’s playground.

Does he not know that you have already given that nickname to someone else?? Raheem should have to clear all player nicknames with Joe!!

More than one Wolf = wolf pack!
…..”Wait a second, could it be?” And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!

Joe … You need a new more stylish GOAT for Ronde .. This goat picture brings back bad feelings and feelings of remorse and depression.

Rah didn’t exactly coin the term (cf. e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.O.A.T. ) but it sure does seem appropriate to Ronde.

I believe Rah is an LL Cool J fan… he called himself the G.O.A.T in the late 90’s

@OAR…LOL!
September 27th, 2011 at 1:27 pm
Like others have said LL Cool J and Jerry Rice coined that term long ago.

Kudos to you Joe.
All memories of Sabby missing tackles have been replaced with the image of this goat and I can’t help but chuckle when I hear his name.
Can only laugh or cry with those memories.
