I’ll just be at the game as ANY avid fan of the Buccaneers should be! Problem is we have far too many CASUAL BUC fans here in the Tampa Bay area….VERY SAD!
why is talib not playing? it worries me a little that he hasn’t played since hurting his hip last year and the team has so little to say about it. hope he is ready week 1 for megatron.

i live in st auggy and have the nfl package. if i live in tampa i would be at game….i would have to mowe 5 lawns to do so but whatever it takes! lol.
WE NEED more fans like you here in the Tampa Bay Area! My income is a 1/4 of what it was 12 years ago yet I somehow still manage to scrape together what’s needed o support our team.
Find a relative outside the area that has nfl sunday direct ticket. Get them to add the Sunday ticket to go for $50. Then you can watch it LIVE in HD. that’s how we roll.
I’m from Bradenton, but live outside of Atlanta now. Just bought Bucs season tix for the first time. Looking forward to 7 quick weekend vacations in the Bay for game day. And for the away games, just found out that Atlanta has one of, if not, the largest Bucs fan club outside of FL. They meet up for every game at a bar in Atlanta. http://Www.atlbucs.com. Guy that runs this club was just nominated as one of the Bucs super fans in Canton? Throw in the Sunday ticket at my house, and I think I’ve set myself up for one hell of a season. Hope it lives up to the (my) expectations. Go Bucs!
I’m outside the market area and have Sunday Ticket as I have had for the past 14 years just to watch the Bucs play. My goal now is to move to the Tampa area at some point in the future and purchase season tickets to be at the games. I love my HD tv, but I’d much rather be at the game. This should be obvious as I spent $2k for a ticket to the Super Bowl and have flown out (from Colorado) several times to attend games in person as my “vacation” those years. I even attended the game in Denver several years ago. Probably spending about as much as some fans spend on season tickets, but it’s what I have to do to watch my team play. No excuses, just making it happen.
Direct TV is including Sunday ticket in the basic package now…unfortunately I live too far away to go to the games, but too close to avoid the blackouts.
It’s clear they don’t want to do away with the blackouts, but they could change the rules of it at least. Top 5 things I would do (if removing the rules entirely is not an option):
1) Reduce viewing area to 50 miles. That way towns that have their own stations can pick it up.
2) Reduce the sellout to 70% of what it is now.
3) Don’t charge for parking at all. People already pay a fortune to go to the games.
4) Reduce pricing on Non-Alcoholic drinks and hotdogs. That way soda is cheaper and kids still get to eat. Specialty foods can be regular price for all I care.
5) Give aways. I still have my Automatica Gramatica bobble head. If the items are only available at the games, people will show.
@grasshopp427er who says: why is talib not playing? it worries me a little that he hasn’t played since hurting his hip last year and the team has so little to say about it. hope he is ready week 1 for megatron.
I’ll give you one better. Why is Tanard Jackson not playing? By league rules, he is allowed during the preseason. Could they be avoiding playing him because they plan to make a move?
Talib my be getting disciplined by the team by not allowing him in hte games. It would be a good token gesture to convince Goodell to reduce any planned suspensions.
@BucsnBeer Says: They don’t seem to have any trouble pirating my property taxes to pay for that stadium..
not your prop taxes genius, its a 1/2 penny sales tax that was voted for in an election. anywho, i’ll see the rest of my 40,000 plus friends at the game. if you don’t go, i suggest you get NFL game rewind on nfl.com. well worth the $39.99 . the rest of you whiners can kiss my red rosey on main street. you savvy?
@Pete Dutcher: If he is not allowed to be with the team or in the facility at all, what makes you think he would be allowed to play in the preseason???
I bought 3 season tickets this year, they give you 4 months to pay it off. I feel like it’s affordable enough for just about anyone and I’m happy to not be stressing these blackouts again whew 🙂 Go Bucs!

Oh man, this seems like an insidious plot by “the man.”
I’m guessing anyone who answers “yes” will be getting a knock on their door from the NFL

Are the Buccaneers NOT Pirates?
So why would one discourage a Buccaneer to watch a pirated feed?

They should’ve done something about this BS blackout crap during the CBA negotiations.

You need to add an option: “Watching game in a bar, where I live.” Out of state folks aren’t affected by these blackouts, obviously.
August 21st, 2011 at 1:59 pm
Why isn’t “go to the game” an option?
August 21st, 2011 at 2:01 pm
@Bucswin — There’s an option for you. It’s called, “No.”

I live in DC and get Sunday Ticket just to watch my Bucs. Whenever they play in DC, Bmore, and usually Carolina, I make it to the games.

BucsChat forums usually has several links right around game time.
Enjoy!

Living in ATL, I don’t have to worry about blackouts, but as a season ticket holder, I will still be traveling to the game from ATL.
