First Open Practice Friday; Bucs Go Fan-Friendly

July 25th, 2011

"It's time to ... put your face on people."

Saliva soaking your keyboard as you yearn to watch Bucs football?

Joe feels your pain.

So Joe is ecstatic to report the Bucs will be practicing Friday at 5:15 p.m at One Buc Palace and the session will be open to the public.

Yes, you can watch the Bucs!!! (And hopefully Team Glazer will request the cheerleaders entertain, as well.)

Friday will be the first of nine public sessions, including a night session on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the C.I.T.S., which will conclude with a fireworks show. Way cool.

Major kudos to the Bucs for going so fan-friendly and accessible in what will be a rather bizarre training camp, courtesy of the formerly asinine lockout.

Per Buccaneers.com, practice details could change, but fans will not need tickets, as in past years.

The team’s official site will also feature Training Camp guidelines, including parking information and a map of One Buccaneer Place that allows visitors to familiarize themselves with the layout before arriving.

Joe will keep you updated, as always, but here’s the current open-practice schedule:

Friday, July 29                         5:15 – 7:15 p.m.
Saturday, July 30                     2:30 – 4:35 p.m.
Sunday, July 31                       5:15 – 7:15 p.m.
Monday, August 1                   5:15 – 7:15 p.m.
Wednesday, August 3              2:30 – 4:35 p.m.
Friday, August 5                       2:30 – 4:35 p.m.
Saturday, August 6                  7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 9                  2:30 – 4:35 p.m.
Sunday, August 14                 2:30 – 4:35 p.m.

What a beautiful thing.

Finally, I can pencil in my Fall and Winter Sunday TV Schedule,
I’ll be in front of the big ass TV watching all things football from 11 am until midnight, if you need or require anything non-football related, it will have to wait until either halftime or Monday morning.

    All free right?

@JOE I think HFXBUCS meant photos. Coverage similar to Freeman’s OTAs.

  11. Mauha Deeb Says:

Which was totally awesome and greatly appreciated. As I’m sure it would be again. I know it was time consuming, but we all appreciate the work, regardless of the “delusional world” of the minority on here. ;o)

wish there was some morning practices available like last year. afternoon practices tend to be cancelled a lot due to rain and they will pull the players if there is threat of lightning. at least some morning sessions would have been appreciated. thumbs down bucs front office

Didn’t the Romans feel this way about the ‘games’? If memory serves, the addiction/distraction didn’t turn out so well. No matter, I’m sure it will be different this time. Fire them cannons.

  21. BigMacAttack Says:

Congratulations to all my Joe-Buc Brethren for hanging tough, and now we’re back in bidness.

Time for another season of Thomas & Eric eating crow for 17 straight weeks.

Come out, come out, wherever you are…………… and take your A$$ whoopin, compliments of Raheem the Dream Morris.

  22. Dew Says:

Hey Joe. If I’m not confused Blount is only signed thru this coming year. If that is the case we need to resign him asap. If they wait till the season starts and he is superb again his price will skyrocket. And what does that do to guys like Mike Williams who are stuck now for years at a low salary.

Also I would resign Hoeseph, Trueblodd, and Ruud. And I would pass on White and Williams. Cady is a good blocker and good at picking up the blitz but his running is way down from the glory days.

  23. admin Says:

    JOe here,

@Dew – Joe wrote about Blount’s contract last year. https://www.joebucsfan.com/?p=40167

Not sure what the new CBS terms bring, but there’s likey some type of restricted free agency option on him for next year. Not a big concern for a while.

  24. Dew Says:

Thanks Joe. I remember seeing he was on a two year contract but wasn’t sure about other options.

I saw a top ten fantasy running back list tonight and Blount wasn’t even on it. Are they for real????

  25. Joe Says:

    Guys:

Remember there are two Joes. Beer-swilling, Rachel Watson-lusting Joe shoots photos and has a blackberry and will Twitter, but not both at the same time. So when that Joe is out there you will get constant updates.

When the other Joe — family man with no smartphone — is out at One Buc Palace he will call non-family Joe with updates for Twittering, unless he drags his oldest daughter out there who has an iPhone.

    We’ll take care of ya!

  26. MOBucs Says:

    I love football!

  27. Brad Says:

Come on Joe… Need new posts, updates. The lockout is over and we only get a schedule? Get those fingers loosened up (anyway necessary even if dreaming of Rachel). But your season starts now being the asinine lockout is over. I’m ready for some football (coverage).

  28. barton1017 Says:

this is great/bad news for me, i live in st.louis and cant b there! thank god for NFL sunday ticket & this web site! i wish i was there to cheer our Bucs but fear not, im representin the Bucs hard in the Lou! BUC IT IM OUT

  29. BamBamBuc Says:

Considering the “asinine” lockout is over, I will return to posting. Hopefully this is the end of the “Hatchetman” Goodell comments, as Roger Goodell successfully negotiated a new labor deal with the players and owners without losing a single meaningful game (Hall of Fame game is not meaningful), and that’s something that could not be said of Rozelle, who headed the league when the labor disputes may have been shorter in number of days, but football was lost to strike games or scab games. Goodell did what he was supposed to do, and that’s get the owners in line to sign off on a new agreement. Goodell did what he was supposed to do, in getting the trade association (players union) to sit down and negotiate rather than litigate. And here we are without losing a football game AND a new labor deal for the next 10 years that both sides seem to be pretty OK with. Yep, that’s right, shouldn’t be another lockout or strike for another 10 years. I’d say that’s getting the job done. Although I’m sure those that make a living reporting football news must have really struggled during this whole thing, it’s worth it for labor peace for 10 years!!!
