Aqib Talib Surrenders To Texas Authorities
March 30th, 2011Bucs cornerback Aqib Talib, a wanted man with a felony arrest warrant hanging over his head for allegedly shooting at a fleeing man last week, turned himself in to Garland (Tex.) police today, posted a $25,000 bond and walked.
In this St. Petersburg Times video, good guy Stephen Holder discusses what options the Bucs have should he not be available for any reason this season.

Johnathan Joseph would be an even more attractive prospect to me than Asomugha due to only being 26 and coming cheaper. He is definitely one of the better corners in the league. As far as I was aware the Bengals tendered him as a RFA though. If they for some reason don’t sign him then he would be an awesome way for the Bucs to put some money toward reaching the probable cap floor without tying too much of that money up in one player who is 30 years old.

Did a little research and it looks like a token move by the Bengals to tender Joseph. From what I gather they have shown little dedication towards resigning Joseph so far. If Joseph becomes a UFA under the new CBA he should definitely be up for grabs to a team like the Bucs who are certainly in position to outbid the Bungles for his services.

This such a shame. Even more of a shame, because Aqib Talib is up there with Darrelle Revis for the best NFL cornerbacks.
I really hope WE DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT cut Aqib Talib. That would just rip my heart out if that happened.
Tanard Jackson and now Aqib Talib. All of a sudden, it’s hard being a Bucs fan again. Although, I actually could see Tanard Jackson returning next season and being given one more chance. Talib, unfortunately, is in far deeper s*!t than him. Any crime involving a firearm is MUCH more serious than smoking weed.
Apparently Talib can’t stop doing dumb things. So if he had to do anything wrong, he should have just smoked weed again instead of opening fire in a neighborhood lol. Being suspended a couple games > ruining your entire NFL career, spending 5-20 yrs in prison.

A sad day for the Bucs and their fans. Talib is a grat talent. His lack of intelligence and self control has really hurt this team’s foward progress. Now we have a huge weakness , where we once had a strength. The team now has to find a Number one cornerback, who wants to win a Superbowl. Talib apparently has no goals except to be the most famous guy on his cell block. Just a bad day.
