Freeman Talks Lockout Preparation
February 5th, 2011No Bucs fan wants to think about a potential lockout of NFL players in March, but Josh Freeman says he’s ready right now for Day 1 of a lockout.
Speaking to the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio Friday, Steve Duemig of WDAE-AM 620, Freeman explained that he and his key teammates on offense will be unified and working if they are separated from the organization.
“I’ve got all the film I need for the offseason. I got the projector, the computers, all that stuff is all in place. We’ve had coaches say, ‘Hey, you can use our high school field.’ It’s just going to be getting everybody down there,” Freeman said.
“If guys aren’t getting paid, they’re not going to really have that much motivation to be in Tampa. …But our receiving corps [is ready]. I was hanging out with LeGarrette [Blount} at Gasparilla, and everybody’s ready.”
Joe will have more Saturday on Freeman and his obsession with practice and preparation.
While Joe’s rooting hard against any form of lockout, it sure would be fun to watch Freeman and his young guns on offense breaking their asses at a Tampa high school this spring without the supervision of team officials. Joe might even hire cheerleaders to encourage the young men.

If Freeman’s agent doesn’t sell tix and donate to charity (I think Joe came up with that idea), he’s really missing a great opportunity to gain some favor in the community.

Joe here,
Yep, that was Joe’s take. These guys could raise $5K or $10K easy for just an hour workout.

23.
TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD.
I now believe Raheem and Dominik when they said they would have taken Freeman 1st overall if they had that pick. Raheem Morris going to K-State for that 1 season might be the best thing to happen to the Bucs since 2002.

@ Larry, have you been eating paint chips again ?
February 5th, 2011 at 8:59 am
What is your obession with coming on here and saying Joe can’t ban you GFJ? No reason to cry about it, you broke the rules and were banned, take it like a man.
Going on different computers and coming here under various aliases doesn’t prove Joe can’t stop you, it just proves you have no life.

Bradford ROY!! I can’t believe this. How many slaps in the face are we going to endure.
I hope the team is taking all these slights and using them to fuel the fire next season.

Wow, 44 votes for Sam and only 4 for Mike. This is insane.
February 5th, 2011 at 9:43 am
@Gary – Just imagine how many Bucs are going to come back to work with chips on their shoulders…there is a silver lining.

I think Free could turn the Buc’s apathy around by arranging to workout at 20 high schools in the area. Try to open an hour or so with the school’s QB and receivers to join in.
I think Fear The Glo’s comment is dead on. Free was worth a #1 overall pick especially if you think of JaMarcus Russell out in Oakland.

I’d love to see these guys get together & do some workouts. Making some (but not all) of the public would be great PR. Autographs & pictures before or after to top it off. Hopefully a lockout doesn’t happen, but I don’t like what I’m hearing.

Blount is already in Tampa, along with Josh. The recieving Corp is ready. these guys are already back to work. Never had that many weapons on a Buc offense. Winslow is great, but imagine we get a young TE out there with Josh and the WRs. 4 deep great young WR, 2 TEs with Speed. Blount, Graham,Huggins, Lumpkin receiving out of the Backfield. And the Vet Caddy giving the kids Advice. This year ought to be good! They better not Strike!!! This team is gonna be fun to watch!

Joe, maybe you could hire our favorite school teacher too. They do have summers off.
February 5th, 2011 at 12:04 pm
That’s Josh. That our leader.
As far as I’m concerned he should have been the number
one OVERALL pick in his draft class.
Thankfully for us, he wasn’t.
