Old Friends On Bisaccia’s Love List
January 14th, 2011Joe finds it intriguing that departed special teams coach/Chucky lover Rich Bisaccia singled out and praised three Bucs in a quote given to eye-RAH! Kaufman of The Tampa Tribune.
They would be Adam Hayward, Maurice Stovall and Micheal Spurlock. All three happen to be unrestricted free agents after this season.
In addition to chatting yesterday about his parting conversation with Bisaccia, Kaufman penned some of Bisaccia’s comments for TBO.com.
“I’m proud of our body of work in Tampa over the years,” Bisaccia said. “I will definitely miss the players, guys like Maurice Stovall, Adam Hayward and Micheal Spurlock. To me, coaching is based on relationships and I’m proud of the relationships we built in Tampa Bay. Looking back, I’ve been touched by a lot of people in Tampa and the fans here have been great.”
Joe has to think Bisaccia would push San Diego for one or more of these guys. Spurlock, as Joe has written previously, would be a tough loss for the Bucs. He’s one of the better kick returner in the league and has shown a knack for catching big passes.
Spurlock ranked seventh in the league among kickoff returners with more than 20 opportunities, and he was one of 16 guys in the NFL to return a kick for a touchdown. He also caught 17 balls, 14.7 yards per catch and two touchdowns.
The Bucs’ season might have looked a bit different without the amazing sideline catch Spurlock snatched with seconds left in Cincinnati.
Stovall and Hayward are replaceable in Joe’s eyes.

Joe here,
@Travis – Joe assures you this is a coincidence. Joe writes most stuff many hours in advance and the posts are scheduled to appear throughout the day.

I hear ya Joe. I cant argue that you stole the story, its a dry time with only so much Buc news to write about. Just stating it before the haters kill you.
Keep up the good stories.

I always suspected Stovall would be a favorite of an” italian Stallion” type. But not Spurlock and Heyward!! Ohh Noooo! I am truly disillusioned

I could see Stovall without a doubt. This was San Diego’s first year with out Karim Osgood and it showed.

Yeah, Stovall fits the bill of a Chargers WR with his 6’5′ height.

Joe- Hayward is replaceable in your eyes? Your eyes must not have been watching when Adam Hayward quite clearly outplayed Quincy Black and earned the right to be next years starting SAM backer. OPEN your eyes. Hayward had a dominant game against the Saints in the Bucs biggest win of the year. The guy is all over the field like we had come to expect from Buccaneer linebackers before the last couple of years. Quincy and Ruud can both be shown the door and I wont cry about it but Hayward MUST be resigned and he could become a dominant player given a full starting role.

We let Spurlock go once already…. let’s hope they learned their lesson the first time.

Good article. In the 1st half of the year Spurlock seemed to have a knack for the big play when they needed it. He single handedly kept the Bucs in that 1st game in Atlanta. He also has the best hammies since Karl “The Truth” Williams!

Hayward from Southern Cali + Bisaccia in San Diego = Hayward heading west most likely
