Oh man…i know, i know, its one play…but I hope Marpet is the opening day starter. Have a feeling this kid is going to become extremely popular in Tampa Bay…
It isn’t the first time I’ve seen Aunt Geraldine get driven back and beat by a rookie. Not a good look for the self proclaimed leader of the defense. For the $ I will take Beast LVD.
As I’ve said since he was drafted. Big Brother Ali is going to be a stud. Some people argued against it. But I have a real good feeling about the Hobart prospect.
Mongo! That is so funny! Man oh man did he stand GMC up on his tippy toes! We see this in the preseason our run game is going to look good! That happens how much better our passing game?
McCoy may up his sacks by slimming down, but we are going to end up losing to teams running all over us. Whoever told Foster he should lose weight last year cost Foster his job. If McCoy doesn’t put his weight back on he won’t be an all pro this year. Remember how our former first round QB went to falling like a rag doll when hit after dropping a lot of weight. Winston needs to get back to 250 pounds or he is going to get hurt when the real tackling starts. I don’t mind it if we put Smith at RT and move Demar Dotson back at LT we should be better while Smith develops. Statistically Rookie LTs do not fare well in the NFL. Dotson is best to protect Winston’s blind side!!!
He looked pretty good on this play…however if you look closely he moved his head to indicate the play direction….rookie.. he will tighten this up as time goes on. I am sure the coaches will notice in film review and say something. LB dream when your looking across the line.
No way in the place of fire, deep down below, did Gerold McCoy get “stood up”, “stuffed”, “quarter pancaked”,”driven back”, “beat”, by a Hobart, Division 3, rookie, who still needs time to adjust to the size and speed of such a massive and unparalleled jump, into the mighty NFL? There is no way this rookie has a chance to start over the likes of Garrett Gilkey, Kadeem Abdul-JaEdwards or Patrick Ohmygodisuckah? Ali Marpet is going to start in the season opener. Mongo no like quarter pancake in morning.
I’m happy to see brother Ali (can this name please stick?) doing well but I’m still very concerned about the fast pass line that starts at left tackle and ends at Jameis. Why can’t we find a left tackle? We need a mauler. An aggressive LT that plays out of his mind and puts people on the ground every play. Instead we have a competition between a guy who should be fighting for a roster spot and a large immovable object who plays in slow motion.

If this is an example of what we can expect from Marpet then I vote to give him the nickname, MONGO.

@MoDowns
He does look like Mongo. Let’s hope he’s half the player that Alex Karras was. Sounds like he’s off to a good start.
