Choppy Field, Wind Could Help Bucs?
December 5th, 2010Joe’s reaching for an edge against the Falcons today, in what Joe expects will be a tight game.
Perhaps a chewed up field after last night’s South Florida-Connecticut game at the C.I.T.S., a little morning rain, a forecast 15 miles per hour wind through the game, and some legitimate crowd noise could help the Bucs?
The Falcons have played their last five games in domes (four at home). And that’s not going to help them today if it’s 60 degrees and breezy with the game on the line tonight.
Of course, it won’t matter if the Bucs can’t stop the run.

Matt Ryan might be 18-1 at home in the safe haven of his arena…
But he’s very beatable away from the Georgia Dome:
5-8 on grass.
7-9 outside.
10-11 on the road.
“Matty Ice”? More like “Matty Indoors”.

Bad conditions make it hard to execute. I don’t see how that helps the Bucs. Both teams have to play in the same conditions.

it should be easier for us because most of our games are played on grass. not turf
December 5th, 2010 at 10:49 am
Falcons are 0-2 this year on grass against teams with winning records.

It could help that the field is torn up, because they play on perefect turf…;)

Joe here,
Snook – If the Bucs win, Joe’s going to use “Matty Indoors.” Very good.
December 5th, 2010 at 12:07 pm
not sure much of that will matter
what will matter is not getting by ryan to roddy white all day, stopping turner, and getting blount going
December 5th, 2010 at 12:08 pm
Snook thats funny. Matty Indoors. HAHAHA
December 5th, 2010 at 12:10 pm
Thanks guys. But when you live in Atlanta and ALLLLL you hear is “Matty Ice” all day long, it tends to get on your nerves.
Joe… WHEN the Bucs win today, feel free to use Ryan’s new nickname.

‘Matty Indoors” Snook, you may have started something right here on JBF.
IF Tampa beats Atlanta today, I can see BSPN and Fox spurting that phrase Dude. Classic!
December 5th, 2010 at 2:59 pm
Matty Indoors. HAHAHA
December 5th, 2010 at 3:11 pm
Did a little more research….
Matty Indoors is 1-6 in his career on the road outside.
December 5th, 2010 at 3:11 pm
Sorry…
1-6 in his career against winning teams outside.
December 5th, 2010 at 3:16 pm
We all know where we heard Matty Indoors first, nice Snook.

I know I’ve gotten carried away with this and I’ll be done after this post:
Ready for this FINAL breakdown on “Matty Indoors”?
10-11 away from Georgia Dome
7-9 – OUTSIDE
3-2 – in domes on the road
4-0 on grass against teams with LOSING records.
2-2 on grass against teams with .500 records.
1-7 on the road OUTSIDE against teams with WINNING records.
0-6 on the road ON GRASS against teams with winning records.
I couldn’t believe it… He’s never beaten a winning team on grass. The mighty glorified Arena Football QB?
Go get em Bucs! Make that 0-7!
Bet you’ll never see that stat on BSPN…
