Can The Bucs Win The NFC South?
November 2nd, 2010Joe just typed that headline and it’s really surreal. As Joe noted yesterday, the Bucs are in a playoff race with a 5-2 record.
Now as pumped as Joe was — and still is — about that win Sunday over Arizona, Joe’s not quite ready yet to believe the Bucs will win the NFC South. But in this crazy NFL season, who knows?
The good people of the NFL Network tackled this very subject. Torry Holt and Charles Davis discuss the Bucs chances of winning the division in this video.
Check it out. You may be surprised at what they had to say. Let Joe know what you think of their responses.

I like when the media doesnt expect much from us, it motivates the team into forcing our name into the picture.

Just got back Joe and I gotta say I’m surprised 5-2? I didn’t think THIS was gonna happen!
As for the video – Torry Holt was right, if they believe and get the breaks and don’t give up the turnovers maybe. I have to admit that I didn’t realize how many 4thQ victories Josh has orchestrated!
This week is a big test – Atlanta away. I expect a loss but but how much is the question and how well will the Bucs play?

Will the Bucs win the NFC South – I doubt it. Why?
Saints should finish 10-6
Falcons should finish 10-6 or 9-7.
Bucs will likely finish 8-8 or 9-7. If the bounces go their way ‘possible’ for 10-6 but IMHO unlikely.
Of course there are lots of things that could happen:
Injuries to players could affect the outcome
Additional players could affect the outcome – i.e., Moss

Betting Man…NO…But I’ll sure be pulling for them…I believe this weekend
will tell it all.

If the Bucs can win Sunday, I like their chances…I believe in them and I hope the defense continues to get better!

Nope. We are an 8-8 team in a s(p)itty conference, but two of the top three teams are in our division. Not gonna happen. People are really buying into the hype and being blinded by the national attention. Setting themselves up for dissappointment. Anyone who doubts this, watch the Falcons/Sains game, Sunday night’s Steelers/Saints game, or the Bucs/Saints game. We are not in that class yet, and it’s ok to admit it.
It is unlikely, but possible that we could get to 10 wins and sneak in as a Wildcard team. Let’s be realistic and consentrate on that.

The defense has holes, but the offense is consistently getting better. Stating the obvious, but Blount’s success has DC’s rethinking how to stop us.
We have so many weapons (that’s nice to say) that if we get stopped, it’s usually us stopping ourselves.

I have a $50 Vegas bet at 162 to 1 for the Bucs to win the Super bowl. I don’t think it will happen this year but right now I’m excited. Anything can happen.

JDouble:
Joe just went through a few pages of spam and found one of your comments there. Joe’s guessing one of two things is happening:
1) The comment Joe found, you sort of used one of George Carlin’s seven words not fit for the FCC (Joe edited the word in question). Maybe that was it? Joe does filter for obscenities. It might help to keep your comments clean.
2) Are you using more than one computer or a computer network? If so, Joe’s software may be recognizing the different IP addres(es) as spam.
November 2nd, 2010 at 11:11 am
I use my home computer, laptop, and phone….but I didn’t realize it was filtered. I use the less offensive curse words quite often without thinking. Maybe that’s the problem. I’ll try to keep it cleaner.
Thanks for the response Joe.

JDouble:
Sure, no problem man.
Joe’s software automatically filters comments for obscenities. Now, Joe doesn’t care what vernacular people use but Joe knows all too well many workplaces filter what employees surf; it’s all too common. If Joe allows too many four-letter words, this site will get dinged by workplaces and it could get people in trouble.
Joe wants as many people as possible to read Joe, specifically when they want to blow off work. 🙂

Thanks for the video Joe-you’re right, I was surprised to get some love from the NFL network.

Joe you keep useing that four letter word WORK.

It’s good to see fans getting excited about the team but it’s also good to see people ‘keeping it real’.
I mean look how hyped fans were when the Saints came to town and the Bucs got an azz-whipping!
The Bucs are showing great promise and they are more advanced that I thought they would be at this point in the season but winning the division – well if the Bucs win AT Atlanta then I’ll consider it.
Remember the credo: Trust but verify

How about if the Panthers take down the Saints, will you think less of the Saints or more of the Panthers? The cats are due, and NO looks beatable (except the game against tampa bay). I think we will beat the Saints in NO just like last year. This weeks game will be good, I think it will be close as well.
