Roy Miller Hates Failing Against The Run
October 13th, 2010Hats off to Roy Miller for calling the Bucs’ run defense as he sees it.
The Bucs’ rushing defense was miserable the last two weeks, and Miller told St. Pete Times beat writer Rick Stroud he finds it offensive.
“I cannot speak for everybody. I had two mistakes that make me sick,” defensive tackle Roy Miller said. “I gave up a couple yards on the two plays I made my mistakes on. Just as a defense, as a unit, we’ve got to pick it up and find a way to stop then.
“It’s disgusting. Just to know I had a part in that, that’s disgusting to me. Like I said, I had my mistakes, I had two bad plays. One is enough. When you have inconsistent play here and there, it adds up. It’s not that we don’t have the guys or the talent, we’ve just got to find a way to get it done.”
The Bucs are ranked 30th in the NFL against the run and No. 9 in pass defense.
Joe loves the accountability by Miller, who had even more to say. The talk is nice, but can it be fixed this season? Joe suspects that it will take quite a bit of time to turn around the run defense. Thankfully, the Bucs have time before they play the Falcons.

What a fitting title considering I hate when they fail against the run too! 😛

Roy Miller may have felt that he had 2 bad plays, but I feel like we get beat at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. We can not stop the run and we can not run the ball. It is very abnormal to lose at the line of scrammage and still win football games. We have been fortunate and I enjoy the 3-1 record but we have to get better because I do not know when our lick is going to run out…hopefully not too soon because winning has been fun regardless of how it has happened.

Jaytek74-lol! Do most of my post on my iPhone. Hell trying to type with big fat fingers! Part of the problem is or stategy! In 3 games, We have played to stop the pass, and make them beat us with the Run. We leave 6 in the Nox, and play the safety and one LB in Pass coverage. The Backs got yards, but they couldn’t run well enough ta win!! Good Plan!!. With the Steelers, we dared Batch to beat us. Yeah, he did! But playing the pass strong had been the ticket do far! Don’t care about stats- they are for losers. As long as we keep winning this year, I’m happy!! Wel’ll be more well rounded next year !

Cappy Tina I’ll explain it SLOWLY for you to comprehend:
YOU said our defense shut down the Bengal’s running game but an actual Buc player, Roy Miller said, “Just as a defense, as a unit, we’ve got to pick it up and find a way to stop then.”
So once again skippy Tina is WRONG !!!! You even had Jim ‘Joel Glazer’ Buc trying to defend you but let’s face it you must be hitting the sauce awfully hard lately.
Hey maybe Capt Tina is really Captain Morgan’s step-sister???

Let’s face Mr, Sucky, you are a dumbass! Enjoy your pathetic Lil attempt to be the new site “hater”.the job is vacant- because the tools that previously held that posistion were made to look so stupid, that they quit posting, having been humiliated enough to send them snively to their Mom’s! The only one left is that racist Piece of Shi*, rahdom, who has reincarnated himself yet again as “buced by you”. He feels so shameful about his homosexuality, that he is a raging racist, to displace his guilt about being a raging gay! Is that your story also, Mr .Sucky? Or are you really the Loser Thomas? Lol! Keep having fun! It gets even Better! All the others are gone -lol- I need another Lil hater to keep this place interesting. You overlook one BIG thing with the Bucs win over the Bengles – THEY screwed themselves! Instead of sticking to the run with a 7-point lead they went to the air! Coach Marvin Lewis, actually their OC, should be shot for that dumb decision.
The Bucs, however, cannabilized that situation, got the ball back and went on the offensive. Freeman to Williams is the key!
Had the Bengals stayed on the ground with Cedric Benson I doubt the Bucs would have won the game! The Bucs are #30 against the run – only Oakland and Buffalo are worse than us in that category.
Lucky for the Bucs that when NO comes to town the Saints are ranked #31 in the run so hopefully the rookies McCoy and Price get some good experience.

As for us beating Cincy – we did but only because Cincy allowed it.
Coming up against the Saints it will be a better test.
Bucs are ranked 18 for run and 19 for passing.
Saints are ranked 22 against the run and 7 against the pass.
On paper the Bucs lose this game, however with a few breaks, a few catches like Williams and Spurlock had last week, good field position, etc., and the Bucs ‘could’ be 4-1.
