If we are finally gonna see the Mccoy we were supposed to draft IM REAL EXCITED FOR THIS SUNDAY. You think this is true Joe?
October 20th, 2010 at 10:10 pm
Gavster:
Time will tell. Joe’s a big believer in results; not talk.
To be blunt, Joe’s not expecting anything from GMC this year. To expect a rookie defensive tackle to shine is unfair.
October 20th, 2010 at 10:19 pm
It’s good to hear they are looking at LDE for Magee. Who knows if he ends up working out, but I was high on CJ Wilson in the draft because I want the Bucs to have a bigger more physical LDE than in years past. At 6’3″ 300lbs Magee fits that mold. Even if he doesn’t end up being the right fit, I hope we stick with the idea of have a bigger LDE.
Imagine if we drafted Clayborn next year? All four of our defensive linemen would be right around 300lbs. That would be crazy.
October 20th, 2010 at 10:42 pm
I can’t argue with the deal they pulled. A former 3rd round DE and a 6th rounder next year for a 5th round pick next year. We get a potential DE and only move down one round late in the draft. If it doesn’t work out, we didn’t lose out on much. If it does, we got a steal, and all the negative people will be screaming how bad the team screwed up with Kyle Moore in the 4th round (after Magee was gone).
October 20th, 2010 at 11:03 pm
What if Kenneth Darby shreds our defense for 150 yards on Sunday?? In case you guys don’t remember, he used to be with the Bucs.
October 20th, 2010 at 11:30 pm
In support of Raheem Morris in his endeavor to develop this young team, allow me to offer some sound advise..
Fire Todd Wash!! Now!
Not at the end of the year..not next week… There HAS to be someone better qualified within the coaching ranks to teach a player his position than a coach that takes 5 WEEKS to tell his players where/how to line up! Do you not talk to the man throughout the week Wash? Do you not discuss his lane assignments in position meetings? Unbelievable.
October 20th, 2010 at 11:36 pm
I notice Rod Marinelli has the Bears number 3 in the league against the rush.
Coaching just might have some relevance to our present situation.
October 21st, 2010 at 12:12 am
If Marinelli can be bought, he is only a D-line coach in Chicago, so we could steal him away if we offer him our DC job. I’d love to have him back. So would our young D-line.
Then we can see if Russ Grimm wants to come be around his kid. He is a great O-line coach. We probably couldn’t get him, but it wouldn’t hurt to send Cody home with a box of chocolates and a nice note this off season. :p
October 21st, 2010 at 12:44 am
Why would Rod Marinelli want to leave in the middle of a playoff run with the Bears? In the middle of the season?
Why would father Grimm want to coach his son in the NFL? Never would happen.
And in a little more than 2 months, Raheem will be fired.
October 21st, 2010 at 1:10 am
Uhhh…meant next year. Thought that was kinda obvious.
October 21st, 2010 at 2:40 am
“Time will tell. Joe’s a big believer in results; not talk.” BAM !!
October 21st, 2010 at 3:43 am
@Buc You
“And in a little more than 2 months, Raheem will be fired.”
Don’t hold your breath on that one buddy, especially if we win a decent amount of games this year. You do realize that there may not be a season next year right? Not to mention the fact that we are still paying for Chucky. Raheem is not a well paid coach, plus he is a DC as well. To bring in a big time coach and a new DC will probably cost them over 5 times the price (Cowher will probably be 10 times the price). It would take a pretty damn big increase in wins to make that type of investment. As a businessman, would you do that? I sure as hell wouldn’t. The owners are going to have to be really disappointed to get rid of him with all these factors. I don’t see it happening unless we have a major meltdown. If that’s what you want, go ahead and cheer against us every game. I will not do that, because this is my team and I will cheer for them no matter what.
Do you realize that we are better than everyone expected us to be this year at 3-2? The bitching and moaning by our fans is laughable to fans of other teams. One of my good friends is a huge Denver Broncos fan, and the other day we compared message boards. Their fans are 99% positive, with not one fan calling for any coaches job. Keep in mind they are 2-4 and they got rid of their best players the last 2 years. He was blown away by the negativity from our fan base. Bottom line is some of you are never going to be happy, so all I can say is… sucks to be you!
October 21st, 2010 at 3:44 am
Yeah I agree. They should’ve brought back Marinelli when they had the chance after he was fired by the Lions.
October 21st, 2010 at 6:09 am
Patrick, with ya on bringing Marinilli back as DC. If Raheem continues ta win, we still need to have a separate DC, Rod would be perfect! As for Darby running for 150 yards/ don’t care as long as we win! Right now, that is the stategy. Make them best us on the ground. It’s only failed twice! Let’em run, 4-2 will help me get over it:)
October 21st, 2010 at 7:07 am
@Hawaiian Buc… The people you mention are not really fans of this team! They only show up on message boards after a loss to bitch. They never have a positive thing to say. I’m from Missouri and have friends who are Rams fans. Even for as bad as they have been, you just don’t find nearly as much negativity coming from that fan base.
October 21st, 2010 at 7:54 am
Rod is the DC and Assistant Head Coach for da Bears.
Agreed he would do a world of good for the Bucs D.
October 21st, 2010 at 8:26 am
Hawaiian Buc,
This team has been in chaos since Chucky was let go. There was no concensus about our current coaching staff whereas in St. Louis they are excited about their coaches. let’s face it in St. Louis they had fallen so low and so far there was no where to go but up!
That hadn’t happened in Tampa. I mean in 2007 playoff team. In 2008 we missed the playoffs with a 9-7 record.
To go from 9-7 to 3-13 on the promise of a ‘new era’ is total crap. Dungy was brought in and raised the Bucs from crap to a contender. Meanwhile in 2008 the Glazers decided to go with a slash and burn method, cleaned house and ruined this team from being a contender to being a pretender.
And you wonder why the fans aren’t happy? GEE WHIZ

Capt Tim wrote: ‘As for Darby running for 150 yards/ don’t care as long as we win! Right now, that is the stategy. Make them best us on the ground. It’s only failed twice! ‘
WTF? When a team runs for 150 yards they win like 85% of the time!
Moron
October 21st, 2010 at 8:31 am
Hawaiian,
I’m not saying to fire Morris BTW…I’m saying that he’s the coach and we need to support him. However he wasn’t my first, second or third choice.
October 21st, 2010 at 8:31 am
Buc You / Javiar/ Rahdom…Whatever your screen name is this week. Morris is hear to stay. It does not matter if you like it or not. He is here for at least one more year.
October 21st, 2010 at 8:33 am
Oh wait…maybe Buc You is negative Expectations, he has not been around in a while. Why do you guys change your names all the time, at least Eric, Patrick, and Tampa 2 are man enough to use the same screen name win or lose.
October 21st, 2010 at 8:52 am
McBuc wrote, ‘Buc You / Javiar/ Rahdom…Whatever your screen name is this week. Morris is hear to stay. It does not matter if you like it or not. He is here for at least one more year.’
Exactly. Until the CBA is resolved I doubt ANY team will make HC changes. Look at the Cowboys. I mean if ANY coach needs to be replaced it’s Wade Phillips and he’s still there. So….
October 21st, 2010 at 9:05 am
Derf…great example. That team should be awsome, but they are not. Even their stats are really good, but they just do not win. That may be more frustrating than our poorly ranked team winning ugly and losing big.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:14 am
I love how the haters all find their way to slither out from under their rocks as soon as a loss occurs. You heard none of them when the wins were being posted but as soon as the last horn sounds for a loss it is “Rah should be fired” time again. What a pathetic bunch of fare weather wusses there are on this site.
I started reading this site before the draft and found it somewhat informative in reference college prospects. However, as soon as the draft was concluded and it was time to write about our Bucs, Joe who-ever showed a true “all about the money” business mind. I commend you Joe for knowing how to turn your site with a blast of hits. You call the site joebucFAN which results in a lot of us true fans finding the site. Then you post 85% negative trash and cause every one of us fools (me included) into hitting the site repeatedly to argue the point. You sit back behind your site controlling computer and spin doctor each argument against you to make the reader appear as if they “mis-interpreted” your article.
I know the ture Buc fans. I read there post after EVERY game. Win or lose. I read what they feel is going wrong. But I also read what they feel is going right. I sit at every home game and watch them inside RayJay yelling for EVERY play. Supporting the Bucs good or bad. Some can’t afford to make RayJay and that is understandable. But they’re not climbing on some Joe-money-making adventure bus to watch a television at a higher price than going to the game itself. Support Bucs JoeBucFan! Take that same bus load to RayJay where the team can hear them.
Tickets to the game are on StubHub right now for $30. You can get them in the surrounding parking lots for $15. Parking is $10 at four blocks away. That puts the Buc Fan butt in a seat inside RayJay for $25 to $40 parking included. I hope all the true Buc fans, that can afford it, will join me inside RayJay where our team can here our support and displeasures live and loud!!
For you haters, don’t stray far from the rock, your about slither back under it.
For Joe-who-ever, keep up the good business work.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:27 am
gruss222:
LOL Joe doesn’t make a red cent off of the Blackout Tour. Joe does not own the limo company nor does he get a kickback from Lee Roy Selmons or Derby Lane.
Most of the people who go on the Blackout Tour do so because they cannot afford to go to the CITS. You cited a $30 ticket at StubHub. Already that’s more expensive than the Blackout Tour and you haven’t even factored in StubHub fees.
It’s awfully easy to spend others’ money, isn’t it?
If you think this reply is spin, then buy another battery for your calculator.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:29 am
Wow gruss venting a little anger are we?
So you want Joe to promote his readers to go into the parking lot and purchase tickets ILLEGALLY just because it’s cheaper? That sounds like a good policy to me.
October 21st, 2010 at 9:31 am
gruss wrote, ‘For you haters, don’t stray far from the rock, your about slither back under it.’
Please define haters will you? From you post you sound pretty hateful yourself….
October 21st, 2010 at 9:53 am
@derf
Never called you out derf. Understand the laws before you site them. It is no longer aganist the law. You are more than welcome to buy any tickets your would like at any bargain you decide at Buc games. The “hater” comments are intended for those who choose to post nothing but negative banter on this site only to gain a joyful argument from buc fans. those that the statement was made for know exactly who they are.
@Joe
I take the group of you (the 2 or 3 people that post as Joe) as being savy business men. Your making decent money from taking an adversarial role (devil’s advocate) and causing more hits based off of fan suppporting their team against you. But are you truly taking the stand that you can not park, enter RayJay and support Bucs live at a cheaper price than your gimic tour? Really? Your guys are smarter than to take that stance because it is easily proven wrong.
As far as it being easy for me to spend others money? I do believe, and can repost the quote from above, that I stated “that can afford it”.
Another great example of a good spin-doctor attempt. Joe, just take the compliment of you guys being good business men with a good business scheme compliment. Why do you want to turn this into an argument? Is it not you that says people should be able to post their opinions?
October 21st, 2010 at 10:04 am
Joe here,
gruss222 – First, don’t tell Joe how to be a fan of the team. Joe doesn’t tell you how to be a fan. Joe writes what he thinks about Bucs issues and shares others writings and comments about the team from local and national perspectives. And Joe delivers some hard news from his research and contacts. …Joe’s opinion is not colored by money or any kind of love of negativity. …Go into the archives here a couple of years ago and you’ll find Joe doing the exact same stuff with no comments and a puny audience. Joe’s here for the love of the team and because he enjoys it. …And to say the writing here is 85 percent negative is incorrect. …The money and the business plan is a nice byproduct. If the money dries up, Joe will still be here doing the same thing.
How arrogant you are to assume that every Bucs fan can physically handle the demands of going to the stadium, let alone the expense, and still enjoy themselves. Some folks don’t walk too well, or do so hot climbing steps, or out in the sun. StubHub for $30, plus $10 to park, plus the walking, plus the sun, plus using the water fountain at the stadium and curbing hunger with one hot dog is not everyone’s idea of a great time. And some can’t handle that, along with the $46 expense Joe just outlined.
The Blackout Tour is no gimmick, and you would never say such a thing if you met the fans on the Tour. These are hardcore Bucs fans. The dude with a cane on the bus last week surely would think you’re an ass, or the woman with a broken shoulder. Surely, the bus is not filled with disabled people, but these fans, I assure you, would rather be at the stadium.
Joe responds because you are incorrect. Joe is not here to argue, but when you misrepresent anything related to Joe, you get the feedback.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:06 am
gruss222:
It is you who is spinning. It is you who mocked people for going on the Blackout Tour for $29 when you can buy — so you claim — a Bucs ticket for $30 from StubHub.
You seem to be mocking people who can’t afford to go to a game. Joe has no idea why.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:19 am
Gruss222, Do you know how many buses of the Tampa Bay Blackouteers Tour it would take to be REALLY invovled to make even a 10% difference in the staduim seating? I think Joe mentioned the ONE and only bus seats about 70+ fans. I’ll let you do the math, since you seem to be so angry. It will give you something to do the rest of the week!
October 21st, 2010 at 10:21 am
Oar:
The Blackout Tour bus holds 29 people.
Trust Joe, in no way does this effect the Bucs ability to sell out the CITS.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:21 am
Joe,
Again, I commend you on this effort!!! Keep it up and all the fans that enjoy it, are the real winners. Great site and great job.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:23 am
Joe,
Wow, my bad. Boy you just threw Guss222 a monkey wrench in his calulations. Back to the board!
October 21st, 2010 at 10:26 am
OAR:
You are too kind. Thanks for your long support of Joe. You’ve been around almost from the beginning.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:47 am
Nice spin Joe, once again. I never knew that your bus was the only way possible for ilfortunate or physically challenged individuals to view the game. I didn’t know that RayJay did not adequately support handicap or physically challenged. Whatever, spin-doctor!! Let the argument go! I buy tickets for friends and family for almost every game right in my parking lo for $15. The point of my statements is that fans, THAT CAN AFFORD YOUR BUSRIDE, can also afford to be in the stadium supporting our Bucs! Have a great day Lee! @OAR. Stay close to your rock.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:51 am
Joe here,
Gruss222 – Your point is inaccurate and translate into the real world.
October 21st, 2010 at 10:55 am
@Joe
We agree to disagree. Have a great one and GO BUCS!
October 21st, 2010 at 11:34 am
Guss222, My rock is always handy and my aim is great!
October 21st, 2010 at 11:58 am
Hey Gruss – Have a great time at the game man. Let’s hope the Bucs kick some lamb butt this Sunday.
As Rodney King said, ‘Can’t we all just get along’ – then he tried to run over an undercover police offer posing as a hooker. Oh well.
October 21st, 2010 at 1:14 pm
Derf- again the town fool! I wrote that I don’t care if Darby runs for 150 yards, as long as we win! Your dumb ass wrote” whaaaat, teams that run fer 150 yards win .( snort) 85%of the time , duh , blahblah blah” I’ll keep explaining it, so that meybe it sinks in your hollow head. We have an extremely young D Line!. They would struggle to stop the run.( gies derf a minute to digest). We aren’t even trying to stop the run. We are playing a defense of 3 DL, 2 LB, 6 DB. ( another moment for stupid absorb time) we are Forcing the opponents to run! We are loading up to prevent the Pass. Teams get impatient, and try to pass. Doesn’t work, we win. Actually a great coaching strategy! Against the two best teams in football, it didn’t work. Nothing would have. But after this weekend, we will be 4-2 . With this young team, that Is good coaching. Bout, we won’t have much pass rush, and will struggle against the Run. If we continue to win- I don’t care!
October 21st, 2010 at 1:24 pm
And yes Derf, we will from this point try to get along, as you don’t really seem like a hater. Olive branch extended, hooker pursued in car.
October 21st, 2010 at 2:29 pm
I suggest we do not employ the “we aren’t trying to stop the run or pressure the passer” strategy this week.
