“Looks Just Like Joe Flacco”
October 15th, 2010If you don’t want to get fired up about the Bucs, then you best not click this link.
Nothing quite like the NFL Network for breaking down film. Mike Mayock (offense) and Brian Baldinger (defense) look at some good and a little bad from the Bucs’ performance in Cincinnati.
Mayock is sold on Josh Freeman. Baldinger likes a couple of the Bucs’ pass rushing packages.
Everybody is excited about the Bucs. Joe’s enjoying the hype.

Yeah…..I think Freeman is more talented than Flacco.

I agree. That comment doesn’t get me fired up at all. I think in a couple years there will be no comparison between the two.

I hear the “Big Ben” comparisons a lot also (size, escapability etc. ) and I can see that, but in my opinion, Freeman looks like a better athlete.

Hopefully in a couple years, they’ll be saying the comparison is the size of Big Ben, the brain of Peyton Manning. Then I’ll be thoroughly impressed.

Size of Big Ben, brain of Payton Manning, and mobility of Michael Vick. That would be perfect.

Comments on Josh – didn’t get me too fired up. He didn’t say anything we didn’t know. the 3-step drop and slant route – this is something that is OPEN a LOT but Freeman needs to improve. Imagine doing to combination to Benn 3-4 x a game! OMG.
On the defensive breakdown. I’m NOT impressed with our D-line and the ‘pressure’ they’ve been getting. Too complicated and our guys are showing their rookie status.
What I am impressed with is the CB’s and safties. Love the movement of the backs and baiting the QB’s. GREAT play calling on our part. The Bucs 2ndary is the team strength.
If Grimm keeps this up pretty soon it will be Tanard who????

Man, amazing that some now claim that Freeman is BETTER that Flacco and better than Big Ben. I hope that is the case, but man noone thought that when he was drafted or when he started to play last year.

Don’t say “no one”, JimBuc. There were plenty that thought he’d be exactly what he has been, they were just drowned out by the screaming of those that HATED the pick.

I am sick of hearing comparisons to other QB’s. Josh Freeman is his own person. He’s not Ben Roethlisberger or Joe Flacco. He can actually do things that niether of those guys can. And there are things they can do that he probably can’t. Im just saying calling every player that comes into the league the next this guy or that guy is stupid. Those comparisons are too simplistic.
