Cadillac In The Garage?

October 4th, 2010

The lovely Tiffany Simons talks Cadillac Williams and the Bucs in this NBCSports.com video. She really doesn’t tell Bucs fans anything new, but who doesn’t want to gawk at Tiffany on an otherwise depressing Monday morning?

    I know everyone loves Cadillac. Having had 5 knee surgeries myself (4 ACL reconstructions and 1 torn meniscus), I applaud his will to return to the field. However, the guy just isn’t anywhere close to being a decent running back in the league. You watch other RB’s and they make people miss. Cadillac has poor vision. When’s the last time he found a cutback lane?

    He’s a good guy and a hell of a competitor, but I can’t see anyone justifying Caddy getting the ball anymore.

    Enter either the new beast Blount or last years MVP Huggins.

  3. Not A Rocket Surgeon Says:

    Caddy has the lowest YPC in the league as a starting RB (can’t get the video to load.)

    I certainly hope Blount has it together and Huggins is healthy. Huge difference in our running game.

    Why not give him a shot? Caddy may be best in a relief mode at this stage of his career… if Blount and Huggins can learn the blocking and hot route stuff then why not? If they can’t pick it up then they may need more time… As for Grimm- well- while watching Red Zone this weekend I saw the Ravens DB get lit exactly the same way Grimm did… didn’t catch who it was on the Steeler’s first TD, but clearly could have been an INT if he turned his back… that’s why I say give Cody another shot.. all DBs make mistakes and get lit up. Some work harder to improve (Grimm, J Lynch, Ronde) and some don’t (Sabby). And I also say that if Sabby is willing to bust his butt and improve and lose the crappy attitude then he should get another shot too– just not before he does a 180 and acknowledges that he sucked.

    any chance getting 60 year old Jack Tatum out of retirement.

    Jack Tatum died a couple of weeks ago.

    Now THAT would be a hell of a comeback for Tatum!

    I can’t believe people are already giving up on Cadillac. It really kind of pisses me off. One or two games…and a player is already done.

    And seriously, don’t get all your hopes up on Blount and Huggins. Yes, they’ve shown flashes of talent, but they’re still undrafted guys that didn’t get touched by another team. No Cadillac around, and all we have is Blount and Huggins. Pretty scary if you ask me. I’m excited about these two young guys, but I’m just saying that we can’t expect so much out of them right now.

    @Patrick
    Haha…”already” giving up on caddy? Did he just come back or something? He had this same kind of season last year when he played his first full season of his career. If im not mistaken, he had 1 100 yard performance (overtime included)…most of his games were sub-par. Nobody is giving up on him, they are just saying he’s not gonna be putting up the numbers we need to be affective in the pass game. We need a running game, and it looks like its Caddy’s time to be a 3rd down back and enter a mentor role. And Blount did not go undrafted based on talent…it was because he punched another player and tried to fight fans. Character issues. He is a mean runner and we need some of that. Love caddy to death and it sucks what his career has become…but he’s done.

    I love how everyone calls him Blunt.

    Yeah its not one or two games. Injuries aside has Cadillac taken it to the house on a long TD run even once since his rookie season? I know Graham can take it to the house. I know Huggins can. I suspect Blount might be able to. I’ve been saying since last year that Caddy should not be the starter. Graham lost his job to Caddy why? Cuz it was a heartwarming story? Cuz he is such an unbelievably great FB that we just had to have him at that position. BS!!! It was a huge mistake for this coaching staff to anoint a guy with two bum knees the unquestioned starter all the way back to the start of last season. With all that wear and tear Caddy should have been on the bench as an “insurance policy”. Caddy should get NO carries anymore. Blount, Graham, Huggins > Caddy
