Penn Says, “Go Watch The Film.”
September 26th, 2010Joe loves to hear confident players and all that tough guy, machospeak that comes from athletes, but there is a time and a place. And it’s not after your team loses 38-13 at home.
Donald Penn apparently disagrees. Per his postgame conversation with Tom Balog, of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Penn has concluded that the Steelers aren’t that much better than the Bucs.
”They won the score, they didn’t win the physical battle,” Penn said. “Go ask them. I know they have a lot of respect for us. As an offensive line, I know they have a lot of respect for us.
”Go watch the film. Please,” Penn said. “Because I was throwing those guys around. I was banging those guys more than anything.”
Joe suggests you read Balog’s whole piece, linked above.
Joe would like to take this time to remind Penn that today the Steelers registered four sacks, 17 hurries, and five knockdowns, per the CBS stat hounds.
And if the offensive line didn’t lose the physical battle, as Penn claims, then what does that say for Cadillac Williams and the Bucs’ receivers?

The o line didn’t play bad… there were time where freenan had time… he just hurried and made bad throws… freeman’s innaccuracy doesn’t help us much… that’s probably Penn’s nice way of saying, the blocking was fine, Freeman just was throwing the ball all over the place… focus freemna focus buddy.

we did watch the film donald! it was ugly, 2009 ugly! You were not the worst player on the o-line by any means and that is scary!

or maybe javier, the problem is we have young wr’s that arent great yet at reading coverages and the steelers have a very good veteran secondary that kept the young guys confused.

The O-line was bad and I had the golden opportunity to sit next to a Steelers fan when Penn got destroyed by Harrison for a sack on Freeman. “The Eye in the Sky doesn’t Lie”. They are showing the need for next years draft.

Everyone has a bad game just ask terrible Tom Brady 18 and 1 he got hit more than a pinata Javier knows about that. Some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you.

”Go watch the film. Please,” Penn said. “Because I was throwing those guys around. I was banging those guys more than anything.”
Penn was too busy “banging those guys” to actually block them. Great job Donald.

Anyone who has played football can understand what Penn was talking about. The rest of you jock-sniffing fantasy G.M.’s can over react all you would like.

I watched the replay of Blount’s TD and Penn was tossed onto his backside like some kind of big fat turtle. Watch the film? How about all the grass stains on the backside of your jersey?

Look cody grimm started the downslide cant blame him but it showed he was green as hell and then aqib gives a td and then strughter tips it to a 320 lbs guy who rumblestake 21 gift points away and its 17 to 13 or who knows what because we made some real retarded mistakes we came out game and played hard and then we showed our youth mike williams is a stud and i think blount is gonna be a stud and freeman is gonna be franchise plus o line handled themselves ok under a lot of pressure from a crazy 3-4 d 8-8 or 9-7 with a lot of young talent sure beats 3-13 or 8-8 with old vets better get ready to pay Mike williams guys he looks sick

Nick- yup, agree with all that.
September 27th, 2010 at 5:21 am
Nick, I agree as well. Go Bucs!
September 27th, 2010 at 5:22 am
FGO…You are right as well.
September 27th, 2010 at 10:39 am
So FGO, you say anyone who has played football can understand what Fat Ass Penn is saying? Oh, I guess Ian Beckles never played football because he says that they WERE dominated and pushed around. And how much football have you played in your career FGO?? I’ll wait……………, what team did you exactly play for ? I think I’m going to listen to an NFL veteran that played for 10 years in the trenches over you Raheem Morris/Glazer ass lickers. Let’s see when the team ends up 4-12/5-11 if you ball sniffers will continue to praise them.

good post pewterPirate!
@Nick
Can’t blame Grimm? but I don’t see where you wrote who to blame. And that would be the Amateur Defensive Coordinator/ anointed HC that put Grimm in there, dontcha think! The Bucs played a real NFL team and got their collective arses handed to them. Could this be the result of the Glazers “last in the league again” 80mil payroll? Could it be the Amateur wannabe HC? Could it be a team full of rookies? Or, D. Could it be combination of all the above? Run-stuffing, violent Defense, Raheem says!
Mendenhall ran for 143 yards, and the 4th string, 35 year old Batch burnt the secondary for 3 TD’s. The Bucs were Batchslapped and exposed for what they are, a bunch of Rookies coached by a wannabe amateur-coach, with owners that are tighter than a frogs arse, and thats water-proof.
Keep the boycott going! Don’t buy a ticket to see scrubs! Force the Glazers to spend money or sell the team! Run-stuffing, violent defense! hahahahaha!
