Demar Dotson Done For The Year
September 5th, 2010Basketball player turned offensive tackle Demar Dotson, a potential Hall of Famer per Jeff Faine, is sadly done for the 2010 season.
He had filled in a bit at tight end last year and was emerging as a blocking icon and Donald Penn’s backup.
Mark Dominik spoke to the media late Saturday and broke the news of Dotson landing on injured reserve. It seems Dotson hurt his knee, but Dominik was unclear about the injury.
“Thankfully for Demar, it’s not an ACL. It’s nothing that’s going to sit there and take eight to 10 months to rehab,” Dominik said. “It’s really more of a three-to-four month type of injury. He had to have a little surgery.”

Hey Joe,
What’s up with Raysindex right now? I haven’t been able to go on the site for the last few days.

Joe here,
Erick – No clue what you’re talking about. The site is busy. Plenty of comments. Are you getting an error message? What’s happening?

Hey Erick and Joe, I had the same problem myself. I wasn’t able to get on Rays Index for about a day. But I just kept checking back to it every so often, and somehow it came up for me about 4 hours ago. Don’t quite understand what’s happening with it. At least now I know that I wasn’t the only one with the problem. 🙂
So maybe it’ll come back for you now, like it did for me, if you try to bring it up again.

Are injured reserve players able to come back later in the season when they are healed?

Never new sitting out for 3-4 months was just a little injury.

@ topdoggie: No, players on IR, stay on IR. His injury should take 3-4 months to recover from, per Dominik.
Sometimes a player is released off of IR and then he becomes subject to be claimed by any other team but that player (I believe) is ineligible to return to the team the released him for the rest of the season to prevent teams from using IR to stash players.

I hope Demar can come back. I think he has the ability to come back next season and claim a starting OT job.

Damn it, I had hopes that he could improve us at Right Tackle. And he looked good during the preseason!

I’ll take dotson and his one leg over that moron trueblood. He is the weakest link on the line.

Yeah I was getting a page error sign for like two days. But it is working this morning.

Problems for me again. 🙁

They must like him for some reason since they are hiding him on IR.

If I didn’t know better, I’d think that was Kenan Thompson on stilts. Where’s Kel?
