It was an intriguing moment on the Bucs practice field today, when new left guard Keydrick Vincent stopped a one-on-one (O-lineman vs. O-Lineman) drill to call over line coach Pete Mangurian.

Vincent was working against Davin Joseph, who was pretending to be a defensive tackle, and Vincent wanted to talk, show and debate technique with his position coach. The interaction turned into a pretty animated session of them each displaying footwork and handwork on Joseph.

The rest of the Bucs offensive line was left to sweat, watch and wonder when they’d get to stop standing around.

Clearly, Vincent is very serious about his craft. (Or he’s sucking up to his position coach, although Joe surely doubts that.)

One thing that stood out to Joe is just how much larger Vincent is than Jeremy Zuttah, who he’s here in Tampa to push. It’s a noticeable size difference.

Joe’s not discounting Zuttah’s commitment, for some reason he was wearing LONG sleeves on yet another ridiculously hot day.

Vincent just looks like a veteran very determined to be his best self.

Vincent is a very good guard, and I predict will win the left guard spot easily, and will improve our running immediately. This guy has game!!

So, is the Sat Aug 7th practice at RayJay free?

From 7-9 pm on a Saturday evening, inder the lights?

Since I plan on paying Zero dollars to the Glazers this year, I think I can take in a free night practice at RayJay.

I’ll make sure i drink as much coolaide BEFORE I enter so i won’t have to purchase the 11 dollar beers.

    All practices are free.

This is great to hear. It’s not a knock against Zuttah; however, I think he is just better suited to be a versitile backup on the line versus a starter. In doing a little research on Vincent, I hear not only is he a mauler based on his size, but he also has a nasty streak in him.

Keep the great coverage coming Joe….I need as much as I can get stuck out here in Oregon!

Vincent is your starter provided he knows the playbook.

Having Zuttah be a backup to all three interior line positions is not a bad thing. I would feel more comfortable with him having to start as opposed to Compas or bringing back the human pylon Mahan.

ZE, dogs and drinks are a dollar at that practice too. I don’t know how much beers are but I think they are half price or discounted some.

  8. Capt.Tim Says:

Zero, sorry to hear about your financial problems. Hopefully things turn around for you. If I run into ya, I’ll buy you a beer! Us JoeBuc guys gotta stick together! 🙂

Zuttah may be in serious trouble.
