Loving And Hating The Bucs

August 10th, 2010

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com has a few things he loves about the Bucs. He also has a few things he hates about the Bucs.

In the immortal words of America’s voice of reason, Bill O’Reilly, what say you Bucs fans?

    America’s voice of reason huh?

  2. d-money Says:

I think he is right on the money.

  3. Gary Says:

wow, way to go out on a limb Pete! “not this year, not the next, but the one after that!”

I’ll do one better, we WILL be in the playoffs NEXT YEAR!! (hey, its early, I’m allowed to dream right?)

  4. nick Says:

How can you hate Ronde? He’s like our Mr. Reliable.

  5. McBuc Says:

Right on Gary. I disagree with some of the Ronde stuff. He has those sack and INT totals becasue he has been great. Maybe he is passed his prime though.

  6. Jimmy Says:

HOW THE F CAN YOU “HATE” RONDE BARBER???

    NEW YORK JERKOFF!!!

  7. lightningbuc Says:

I guess he was trying to do a love/hate type of report, but saying “I hate Ronde Barber” doesn’t sound good at all – and actually is tacky. Why not say “I hate that Ronde Barber is still playing” or something along those lines? I don’t think he hates him personally (at least I hope not) but the commentary was classless nonetheless.

  8. bucfanjeff Says:

We surprise teams now, Raheem keeps his job.

We need to keep Ronde in a position to be helped. If he gets man to man too much, he’ll get burned.

  9. Andrew Says:

He hated that the Bucs won the superbowl! I used to razz him constantly after he was the biggest Buc hater in the media! That’s why he hates Ronde, a vicious reminder of the Bucs glory which he so tries to deny while his Jets havent won squat in forever and he knows they’ll disappoint again this yr!!! New York schmuck he is!

  10. Javier n Wimauma Says:

He doesn’t really ‘hate’ Ronde Barber, it was his likes and dislikes about the Buccaneer team and what will make and break them as a team. Jeez!

The worst part of the whole video was how wins won’t be a factor and the only facyor will be that ever-so judgmental qualitative factor: “Progress”

Sure. Leave that judgement in the media’s and the apologists hands and you will see so much “Progress” from Raheem Morris that even another season of losing will be glossed over in the name of self-proclaimed progress.

I think i am going to hibernate until we get a real coach. So long as the apologists can twist and turn ‘progress’ there will ne NOTHING that Raheem can do wrong folks.

As said earlier, ALL of the eggs are in one basket, and that’s the Browns game. If the Bucs lose against the Browns, then they will head into the bye 0-3, just look at schedule for yourselves. Ah, you can’t be trusted. Let me show you. By the time they get to the Rams they will be 0-5 if they lose to the ever so desparate needed win against the Browns. They could very easily go 3-13 again, win 2 out of the last 3 and Raheem will get a pass on perceived ‘progress’.

Here is the break down. The only teams the Bucs may be favorites will be the Browns, Rams, Lions, Seahawks… and those are MAYBE favorites. The rest are underdogs.

    Browns 0-1
    Carolina 0-2
    Steelers 0-3
    Bye
    Bengals 0-4
    Saints 0-5
    Rams 1-5
    Arizona 1-6
    Atlanta 1-7
    Carolina 1-8
    San Fran 1-9
    Ravens 1-10
    Atlanta 1-11
    Redskins 1-12
    Lions 2-12
    Seahawks 3-12
    Saints 3-13

  11. Javier n Wimauma Says:

Who else has better predictions? Capt Tim. 8-8? Where are the 8 wins coming from?

  12. oar Says:

I can’t tell if he’s a Grudenite or a Raheem dreamette? Isn’t that all that matters? Possibly a Raheem dreamette, seeing how he hates Ronde “veteran” Barber, LOL!

  13. 2011 Draft Guru Says:

Going 3-13 isn’t so bad. This will allow Tampa to rake in more high ranking draft picks.

Another year of top 5 picking (per round) will make for an exciting off-season and a promising influx of youth into our young foundation.

And for the 3rd pick of the 2011 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers choose:

    Marcell Dareus, DE/DT, Alabama

Marcell Dareus is more than adequate. As a mere sophomore last season in Alabama’s 3-4/4-3 hybrid defense, Dareus really came on and accumulated 6.5 sacks in just four starts, and then proceeded to knock McCoy out of the game during one of the two national championships this past winter.

A great athlete despite weighing 301 pounds, Dareus is expected to take the SEC by storm this fall. If he has a big year, he could be the first player chosen in the 2011 NFL Draft.

  14. eric Says:

    C’mon Javier,

    Quit being so optimistic.

    We can’t beat the lions!

You are right about one thing, whatever the record, the Rah supporters will be there spinning away.

All because they are not able to admit they were wrong for running Gruden out of town. Sad, really.

Some folks just can’t face reality.

  15. McBuc Says:

    Javier…You really are a fool.

  16. Javier n Wimauma Says:

McBuc the Raheem apologist, why don’t you give your prediction of the Bucs this year? all you have to do is copy and past the team’s schedule i posted, and paint the Bucs to a 16-0 season. McBucky, it’s okay, you know you want to write it as you wish it were.

Lets go ahead and look at how Raheem did last year. It was so progressive!

    Dallas 0-1
    Buffalo 0-2
    New York 0-3
    Washington 0-4
    Philly 0-5
    Carolina 0-6
    New England 0-7
    **Raheem’s Tenure Begins!**
    Green bay 1-7
    Miami 1-8
    New Orleans 1-9
    ?Or does it begin here?
    Atlanta 1-10 (back-up QB)
    Carolina 1-11 (back-up QB)
New York Jets 1-12 (back-up QB)
    Seattle 2-12
    New Olreans 3-12 ( 2 in a row = amazing progress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Atlanta 3-13 (back to losing, defense getting the ball ran down their throat)

All in all, Raheem gets credit for the Green Bay game, doesn’t take credit fot Miami or New Orleans, then takes over the defense against the Falcons back-up QB, Carolina’s back up QB (notice that Delhome beat Jim Bates in game one not Raheem) and then the Jets back up QB. This equals holding the oppenets 21 pts per game over those 3 games… equals progress??? Hmmmm. Over the 6 games, Raheem’s defense gave up 21 pts per game. And this a sign of a promising NFL defensive coordinator? 21 pts per game?

    Any who, facts are facts.

    Carolina win
    San Fran loss
    Ravens loss

“All because they are not able to admit they were wrong for running Gruden out of town. Sad, really.”

You are right Eric, sad indeed that you are so clearly obsessed with Gruden that it invades and dominates every comment you post.

Hey Eric, what do you think about Freeman?

“He sucks because if we keep Gruden we never draft him”
Hey Eric, what do you think about Gerald McCoy?

“He sucks because if we keep Gruden we never draft him”

Hey Eric, what do you think about the weather?

“It sucks because if we keep Gruden it would always be sunny . . .”

  20. ZeroExpectations Says:

JimBuc, I have zero expectations for you to add value with any of your comments. I see you are busy playing the role of the JBF Mother Hen, yet again. 🙂

JimMotherHen, you have added ZeroValue to this conversation, I award you ZeroPoints and may God have mercy on your soul.

  21. eric Says:

    JImbuc,

That’s six Gruden references in one comment!

So, who is the obessed one?

  22. ZeroExpectations Says:

Jimmy is still mad at Joe because he has failed to influence JBF’s coverage of the Buccaneers.

    JImbuc,

So, who is the obessed one?

Eric — YOU. That is the point. A video about the current Bucs still bring you back to Gruden. One positive Eric, at least you don’t have the dumbest comment on this thread. That distinction goes to:

  24. eric Says:

    JImbuc,

Yet another one……………….geez man give it a rest already.

  25. ZeroExpectations Says:

    JimBuc = JBF Mother Hen.

    LMAO!!!

    Zero Value Jimmy.

  26. JimBuc Says:

    Dumb and Dumber

  27. Dave W. Says:

Hey Joe, let’s keep your opinions on idiot talking heads out, and just stick to football, m’kay?

I agree with most of what Prisco says, but I think he’ll be surprised by Ronde playing back to his strengths in the Tampa 2. He isn’t what he used to be, but he’s still pretty good.

Hoping for 7-9 or 8-8 this year. Go Bucs!

  28. Javier n Wimauma Says:

    Dave W
“Hey Joe, let’s keep your opinions on idiot talking heads out…”

So, who do you want Joe to talk about? Just people who are positive about the Bucs?

So because YOU don’t agree, it’s not news about the Buccaneers?
The guy was ON THE SIDELINES. Joe can’t post a story about that?

I love the guys who attempt to control the message, the slant, to only their perspective.

Prisco is right about Barber. The old man gets burned on many occasions. And it is a fact that he is yet another year older.

How is it that Barber gets a pass on aging gracefully yet Brooks or Galloway or Dunn or R. Anthony or Garcia get labeled old?

Is it because the DB cowch is buddy buddy with the old timer DB? Could it be the old timer DB is the guy who influences Raheem the most? Raheem’s mentor is in fact Barber? (Which is not a bad thing) But, is this the reason why Barber is still on the team?

Seems to me that Barber has gotten a FREE PASS in the youth movement. Hmmmm?

  29. Javier n Wimauma Says:

Shoot man…. I’d like to see Raheem get canned and Barber become the head coach if anything.

  30. admin Says:

    Joe here,

Javier, breathe deeply. Breathe. It’s ok to be calm.

Dave W. didn’t like Joe’s harmless, non-political Bill O’Reilly reference. …Joe finds O’Reilly very entertaining. And that’s what his show is — entertainment.

  31. JimBuc Says:

Joe love the “non-political” O’Reilly reference:

“Joe finds O’Reilly very entertaining. And that’s what his show is — entertainment”

  32. Javier n Wimauma Says:

So JimBuc, all because you enjoy watching the View, does this mean Joe has to like the View? No. One of those Joe’s is allowed to like O’Reilly just as much as you love the View.

  33. ZeroExpectations Says:

Holy hell Javy, take Joe’s advice and breathe man.

YOU may get nicknamed JBF Roster if you don’t chill bro. And if you come to Joe’s defense one more time, I’ll re-name you JBF Mother Hen, Part Deux.

  34. Jimmy Says:

“Hey Joe, let’s keep your opinions on idiot talking heads out, and just stick to football, m’kay? ”

Oh, I see. So if Joe referenced that gasbag Keith Olbermann who wants to turn this country into some dime store banana republic bordering on chaos, that’s OK? But Joe’s not allowed to quote an honest man who upholds decent, law-abiding American values?

You really need to visit Hugo Chavez… permanently!

  35. ZeroExpectations Says:

Hey Joe, would it be possible to nip this in the bud now: How about you post Optimist articles in the Optimist category, and the Pessimist articles in the Pessimist category. That way you can separate the riff raff right from thet start. 🙂

Maybe even designate certain swaying commentators to each sub-group while not allowing posts in ‘the other’ category? what do you say Joe?

Side question, why do you have 50 pessimist articles but only 4 Optimist ones? Hmmmmm? 🙂

  36. admin Says:

    Joe here,

Zero, a fresh OPTIMIST is coming in a matter of hours. PESSIMIST was first to the party. No other reason

  37. Dave W. Says:

@Javier, I’ll let what other people said to you stand. They got it, you clearly didn’t. Surprise.

@Jimmy, I missed the part where I endorsed Olbermann. You’ll have to point that out to me. Good call though. You didn’t come off as a nutjob at all.

  38. TJ Says:

agree 100 where is the pass rush

  39. JimBuc Says:

Javier — you have RahDom’s reading skills. Ka-wink-a-dink? I think not.

  40. Capt.Tim Says:

Eric, JimBuc- please quit mentioning Gruden! I’m outta spit!

  41. Capt.Tim Says:

Zero expectations- damn you! I don’t know why, but that “zero exp” is starting to be slightly amusing to me! But don’t get yer hopes up! I think it’s only because it’s so dumb!

  42. Capt.Tim Says:

RahDomtheJavier is sure worked up today! Must be “Pre Cowher” excitement!
