Aqib Talib Suspended

The news just keeps pouring out of One Buc Palace today. NFL warden commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended Bucs cornerback Aqib Talib for one game due to his incident last year with a cabbie.
Last summer, following a night out with teammates to celebrate the end of training camp, Talib belted a cabbie in the head as the vehicle they rode in sped down I-275 in St. Petersburg.
The cab driver spoke candidly with Joe about the details shortly after the incident.
So, no Talib, who is in the midst of a pretrial intervention program, when the Bucs host Cleveland to open the season.

As much as we could use him in that game, this suspension is completely reasonable. I really really hope that this is a wake up call for him to get his off the field issues straightened out.

I wish he was out for a game vs somebody like the Saints or Ravens. A game we would probably lose anyway. I want him on the field for the Browns, we need that game.

Against the Browns..I’d like to think if ANY game was a good game, it was this one or the Rams.

I’m confused. I don’t agree with what he did, but Shaun Rogers didn’t get suspended and he was arrested for having a loaded gun in an airport.

How did he only get one game for puncging a cab driver in the back of the head on the bridge going across Tampa Bay?
What if the driver flipped the car inot the bay?
Either way, Talib should count his lucky stars that he only got ONE game from punching a Cab Driver in the back of his head. Period.

Have you ever BEEN a part of a team? You set an example, and put pressure on the other players to police themselves, and each other, building a spirit of discipline and drive.

Glad it is only 1 game, but I thought he was clear of that and there would be no suspension. Oh Well. Get’s Mack and Biggers some playing time to see what they got against Cleveland.

This sucks. This suspension should have come last season. Come on. The threat of suspension hung over the team like a fog last season. Now it is seeping into this season. This just plain stinks.

This is just sad but it is too common in this younger generation. Our society is falling to pieces and it includes our sports stars. I grew up watching Lee Roy Selmon, Scott Brantley, Batman Woods, Gimmie Giles, Kevin House, Rickey Bell and the likes. I never heard any negative things about any of those guys much less criminal. I wish his punishment did not have to affect the team and fans but more than that I wish people would wake up and start having some self control so that this sort of thing would not keep occurring. I guess it is just a sign of the times 🙁

F this. We have entirely too many MF’n rules in this country. We have a GD rule or law for everything, and then there is a tax on top of it. Then we have a tax for the tax. I’m sick and tired of everybody F’n with the common man, and I’m sick of that MF’r Goodferry suspending players all the time for BS. That is why we have a legal system and Courts, so that people get trials and can defend their actions. F this crap. Who the F@@k does he think he is? God? Does he think he’s GOd? Walks on water? never made a mistake in his life? I’m telling you that Hypocrite MF is going to hell. He passes judgment on everybody. They violate Coaches and Player’s right to frre speech.

Yeah, that may have been just a wee bit excessive.
Anyway, Sweet Dreams eric and make sure the Safety is in the OFF position. I keep my KABAR close at night, and have well trained Dogs, oh yeah, and my trusty old M40 for what gets away from the hounds. I guess I’m just a redneck, but I don’t live in a trailer anymore, I swear.
