BSPN Previews NFC South
July 25th, 2010Six days from the start of Bucs training camp and Joe can almost smell the sweat. This week, Joe’s going to bring you quite a few previews, both team and position. In this BSPN video, Trey Wingo, Cris Carter and Eric Allen break down the NFC South.
Carter, in short, believes Raheem the Dream has to rely on his coaching roots for the Bucs to be successful.

He has to rely on his coaching roots…. What roots? He is still a seedling.

I agree. What coaching roots??? What qualifications and what resume?? He really hasn’t done anything noteworthy in his career.

True enough but give him a chance. This will be his first full season with, hopefully, all of His decisions in place. He may fall on his face like a lot of people think and hope that he does…. The again , he and the whole team may suprise us all. they havent taken the field for a practice snap let alone a REAL game.

Like it or not he’s part of the Gruden/Herm Edwards/Mike Tomlin/Rod Marinelli coaching tree. He’s learned under the best…so by implication those are the roots of which they speak.

Look at John Harbaugh’s resume…at least Rah was a DC for one year! Harbaugh had been a position coach up until he was hired by the Ravens and he’s doing ok.
My point: This is a player’s league first, a coach’s league 2nd. Give the Org some time to put the pieces around Rah and Freeman and we’ll have a more accurate reading on the future.

That was a pretty accurate assessment.I think it all starts with the defense.If we can slow down the run,we can be competetive.I know rookies take time to make an inpact,but I have a good feeling about this group.

Rah was not a DC for a year. Unless you count last year.

@eric
Yep. One year at K-State. (That’s how he knows Freeman bro!) Harbaugh has never been anything more than a position coach/ST coach throughout his college and the pro career.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh I forgot about K-state. You are correct.

Amazing how those guys (and all the other experts) spend so much time saying nothing (a.k.a. “who the hell knows what is going to happen”). It’s funny how most (if not all) the experts are wrong about what actually happens once the season gets going.
However, fun to talk about & listen to.

99% of all media pundits and sports gurus are wrong 99% of the time.
Don’t believe anything except what you see on the field in September.

Exactly! Besides, 53.7 % of all statics are made up! Read that at “hooters”, thought it was a classic! 🙂
