Warren Sapp Tees Off On Facestomper

June 29th, 2010

Joe must have been listening to his good friend Justin Pawlowski, of WDAE-AM 620, and his regular Saturday show “The Blitz,” thus missing this following gem.

Over the weekend, former Bucs great Warren Sapp unloaded on almost-Bucs defensive tackle Facestomper Haynesworth, a defensive tackle for the Redskins.

Seems as though Facestomper is upset that he may have to play in a 34 defense this season, despite the fact he signed a lucrative contract just last year and in recent weeks cashed a $21 million check, more money than some South Pacific island nations. As a result, Facestomper has yet to show for any offseason workout with the Redskins.

Sapp isn’t cool with Facestomper sitting out and unloaded on him while appearing on “Press Coverage,” with co-hosts Howard Balzer Vic Carucci heard exclusively on Sirius NFL Radio, via Cheeseboy Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post.

“Let’s stop the BS, like we like to say,” Sapp told Vic Carucci and Howard Balzer on SiRIUS NFL Radio. “I mean, c’mon, son. You sat at the table. The people told you they had a very lovely check for you….Albert Haynesworth, you took the check, now show up to the job, son. It’s that simple. You take that kind of check. I mean, I’ll flip dogs for you. I mean, c’mon, what you want me to do, you want me to return punts? I mean, what? C’mon. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it.”
One of the hosts pointed out that Haynesworth even had issues with Greg Blache last year, when the Skins were running a 4-3.
“How about he had issues with showing up for the Cowboy game and the Eagle game,” Sapp countered. “I mean, if a body part’s not missing, you’re showing up for division games. Are you kidding me?”

Sapp had quite a few more choice words for Facestomper and it’s safe to say that Sapp is not much of a fan of Facestomper.

Remember, Bucs fans, Mark Dominik was “this close” to signing Facestomper last year, only to lose out in the bidding war to Danny Snyder and the Redskins.

Dominik is likely still lighting candles in thanks for swinging and missing on that one.

Ha ha….. classic how no one responds to Warren Sapp. And this isn’t the first story about Sapp’s ‘perspective’ on JBF that no one really cares enough about to post a reply.

Here’s one for you Sapp… first…. but this article has been up almost all day.

RahDom, I think, it’s cause we all agree with what the man is saying about headstomper boy. I didn’t want him then and don’t even more, now!

Lol, the Qbkilla, still calling ’em like he see’s em’

I was glad that we tried to sign Haynesworth and was disappointed when we lost out. It worked out for the best, I guess. But I recall Haynesworth saying that the BUCS offered more money than the Redskins but he liked the Redskins club better. I wonder if that’s true. Joe?

I think that we all agree that we heard Sapp enough when he was here. As a player he was great! Away from the field, however, he was an @sshole. So who cares what he says.

  6. Capt.Tim Says:

Buddy, absolutely true, but the Bucs did the smart thing, tons if money in INCENTIVE PAY! Bonus for leading the DL in tackles. Bonus for games started, bonus forminutes plate, bonus for Sacks, Etc. That way Fat Albert EARNED his pay. He has always been notoriously lazy. The way a smart team makes a lazy player work is to tie his money up in Production bonuses! Make no mistake, Albert Is a friggin monster when motivated! The Skins pretty much just gave him 100 million! And Albert celebrated by taking the year off, more or less. So, yes, he took an offer for less than the Bucs offered, so that he could jus relax! Here, he would have had to actually PLAY hard for the money, and who needs that?

  7. BigMacAttack Says:

I think GMC will blow Haynesworth away. It may take a couple years but he and Price should make Buc fans forget all about Fat Albert and his bad attitude. Glad Dom missed out on that one.

  8. Capt.Tim Says:

I think GMC is gonna be the best thing ta hit the Bucs D in 6 yearss! O can’t wait !

sapp and brooks are the best players ever to wear a bucs uniform I dont care if he was nasty off the field cause I sure know he WAS NASTY ON THE FIELD havent had a pass rush since MR SAPP left town so stop hating!!

  10. Capt.Tim Says:

Wish Warren had endeared himself to the fans a little better than he did. This town sure wanted ta love the guy. Hopefully GMC is making notes, cause 15 years from now, wanna be eating a steak at “GMC’s hall of fame steakhouse”!

    @nick
When you watch a “Bigger than life” football player refuse to sign an autograph for a little league kid that was 11-12 years old, “Abruptly saying” I don’t do autographs! (with a very nasty tone), at a baseball field no less!, the blowhard doesn’t deserve respect! I’ve never forgotten that. And I’m sure that the kid hasn’t either! And I’m sure that other posters can tell you story after story too. Speaking of hating, Sapp was notorious for hating too. And I’m not talking about on the football field!

I have always heard about his “off field antics”. I saw him once, said a quick hello, and he said hello back. I did not stop him and try to have a conversation or anything. Regardless, the man knows football, so what he has to say is worth Joe putting on the site. besides, Joe is putting out more material than any other site that I have been to, so do not try to take away one of his sources of material.
