On The Fringe: Cody Grimm
June 25th, 2010One of the interesting things to watch when training camp begins in just over a month will be what happens with Bucs seventh round draft pick Cody Grimm.
Ostensibly drafted as a special teams player, he may just surprise some people by playing safety, though he was a linebacker at Virginia Tech. The son of Hall of Fame offensive lineman Russ Grimm, the younger Grimm has always been overlooked. He had but one scholarship offer, that from a Division-II school.
In this way cool video from the good people of the NFL Network, Grimm and his struggles to overcome obstacles on all levels of football are featured. Joe is impressed.
After watching the video, just think that this is the kind of quality television broadcast daily that is denied to the many law-abiding citizens in the Tampa Bay area by the criminal element known as the Out House Networks syndicate. The absolute arrogant gall of these people to refuse to give football fans in a football-starved area the NFL Network, yet continually shake down unwary consumers monthly to bankroll an insipid yenta channel that believes a story about a new park that serves only to offer another plot of otherwise valuable real estate for neighborhood mongrels to shat on is news.
Only in this case, the grass isn’t the only thing being shat upon.

Go get DirectTV. We have a free market and there is choice. DirectTV is cheaper, has better quality HD and has the NFL Network. I switched 6 years ago and will NEVER go back to regular cable.
As far as Grimm… seems like a practice squad guy this year.

I’ve said it already, Cody “the Grimm Reaper” will be a major force at safety! He’ll be a monster, and teams will FEAR to cross the field in Tampa Stadium!!
Either that, or hopefully he can help minimize the lose of Will Allen on special Teams, where we also have no depth

Dave, Or Verizon Fios, which has NFL Network in all it’s HD glory. I have had DirectTv and “Outhouse”(too funny) before and have found Fios to be superior in HD quality and service to both.

As for Grimm, like many rookies, we’ll just have to wait and see. Training camp will shed more light though.

If ANY of our 7th round draft choices pan out again this year (hopefully Stroughter continues to be successful), then Dom and his staff need to be hearing some apologies from the doubters. It’s rare to get one 7th rounder to work out for you, but to get one last year and another this year and to have guys like Peanut that were undrafted should go a long way to improving the view of the front office. I’m hoping we get some production from Watson or Grimm this year, or see if Lorig can recover from his injury and maybe be productive in future years. I’m doubtful that more than one will have success, but it’d be nice to see that kind of late round success 2 years in a row.

Oh yeah, and I don’t have Outhouse network as I don’t live in Florida. I’ve had DirecTV for 11 years and had NFL Sunday Ticket every year to watch my BUCS!!! as they’re never on national TV (even after they won the Super Bowl!!!)

LOL a thread bashing “Outhouse Networks” and then I looked to the left side of the screen…… Lo and behold, it’s an add for Brighthouse on Joebucsfan.com. Haha! Hypocrits!

WHAT??? Until that syndicate gets the NFL Network, Joe will never take ONE DIME from those SOBs!
Joe does not have any ads, or has taken one red cent from Out House Networks!

Well, there was certainly a Brighthouse Networks add on the left just below the ‘submit comment’ button on June 25th 2010 @11:42 am.

Mauha Deeb:
Joe does not take money from those SOBs and surely would never offer to give those rotten aholes a free ad. Had to be Google. Next time check at the bottom of the ad to see if it’s a Google ad. Joe just might have to get a hold of Google to prevent that from happening again.
