Faine Preying On McCoy?
June 11th, 2010Jeff Faine, outside of being a good center, is notorious for his business savvy. The guy’s got seemingly successful restaurants in multiple states, a clothing store, and he’s been lauded in the media for his investments in domestic oil and more.
Listen to Faine talk and you hear CEOspeak flow on everything from branding to the “shared DNA” of his compaines.
Enter Gerald McCoy to the Bucs roster, the kid who’s about to score somewhere around $35 million guaranteed from the Bucs. For an entrepreneur like Faine, whose brain is in overdrive, McCoy has to look like some very fresh meat.
So Joe had to chuckle when Faine told the Tampa Tribune that McCoy was planning to buy one of Faine’s homes.
“He’s actually purchasing my (two-story) house in Tampa,” Faine said. “I’m downsizing a bit.”
Joe couldn’t resist checking out Faine’s house in the property appraiser’s database. Mr. Faine paid $1.85 million for the Rocky Point crib back in April 2008.
Joe sincerely hopes McCoy does his homework and gets a fair deal. Joe can only imagine how much the value of the four-bedroom, five-bath home has plummeted in the last two years.
Hey, Faine. Joe’s going to watch for the sale price. Don’t take the kid to the cleaners.

I sincerly hope the BUCS get a fair deal on the 40 million dollars they are going to have to fork out to this twittering obsessed little kid who hasn’t proven he can play a lick yet.

Radio Mushmouth,
You are a douche. You take a light hearted story from Joe and turn it into a way to be negative. Get a life dude.

Well none of the 2010 draft choices have played a down yet, so how can anyone tell who is “truly” be a PLAYER..
40 million..
yeah, all i really need is 100,000 cash and i will be set.(40 green acres, a place for the kids to roam, have a garden, a few cows, a pond) yep set. Now how about to get this 100,000 cash… hmmmm
As i have heard it from plenty of folks, “you make hay only when the sun shines”
I to feel bad about the amount of money being paid out to player who might never make any impact for the large amount of money they are paid. But it is what it is. 2011 rookies i am thinking are not going to see quite the same checks.
I am looking forward to the season and seeing McCoy and all the 2010 rookies play, learn to work at their craft. Get better, the price? It is not my name on the bottom of the check.
Go BUCS!!

Have to agree with RastaMan here Joe. Your concern is noted, but it really is between Faine and McCoy. The value of a property is what someone is willing to pay for it.
