Freeman Was Almost Undefeated?
May 13th, 2010Joe’s a word guy. So definitions are important to him.
Delusion: 2a) something that is falsely or delusively believed or propagated 2b) a persistent false psychotic belief regarding the self or persons or objects outside the self that is maintained despite indisputable evidence to the contrary; also : the abnormal state marked by such beliefs
Now Joe just played English teacher there for a moment because Joe wonders whether Raheem The Dream is delusional.
In a recent interview with J.P. Peterson on 1010AM, Raheem The Dream made the bold statement that the Bucs nearly won every game when Josh Freeman took over the starting quarterback job. Here is the head coach’s unedited comment.
“I made no secrets about tying myself to Josh Freeman when I selected him,” Raheem The Dream said. “That’s the type of guy I want to be around. That’s the type of guy I want to lead our franchise. As soon as he got the reins to the helm, I felt like he could win every football game. And we almost did with him playing. That’s where we are right now.”
Joe is excited about Freeman’s future, but he was understandably inconsistent in his rookie season. He finished 3-6 as a starter, and the Bucs lost their final three home games by a combined score of 84-20.
Yet Raheem The Dream thinks his team almost won every football game with Freeman as the starter. Hmmm.
Delusional?
Joe’s worried that the head coach might just be, especially on the heels of the quotes that came from Raheem The Dream and Freeman about 10 weeks ago. Particularly the one from Freeman, when he said on live radio that the Bucs were almost “right on the bubble to make the playoffs.”
Joe’s played on teams. Joe knows coaches and players find hope and see silver linings. But a crappy record is always a crappy record. It can’t be spun.
If Raheem The Dream really believes the Bucs almost won every game with Freeman at QB last year, then, yes, he’s delusional.
Scary delusional.
May 13th, 2010 at 10:16 am
Man, its just one after the other with this guy. Its getting hard to find the silver lining in his stupid comments. But you have to admit, we were very close to winning atleast 2-3 more games if someone made a play here and there. I guess you can say that about every game, but I kinda understand what the Dream is getting at.
May 13th, 2010 at 10:21 am
Apparently, optimism is no longer acceptable.
May 13th, 2010 at 10:24 am
Raheem is quickly becoming a practitioner of hyperbole.
May 13th, 2010 at 10:25 am
What are you talking about Joe?
They almost won everyone of those games. They just didn’t score more points than the other teams. Other than that they almost won.
May 13th, 2010 at 10:39 am
Bob:
Optimism is great, but Joe lives in the real world.
Optimism
Joe will live in a mansion Team Glazer would be jealous of.
Joe will have servants bring him mass quanities of cold Caybrew while lounging at his pool.
Joe will take his boat for a quick trip to Bimini.
Joe will bed Rachel Watson whenever the urge arises.
Reality
Joe owns a modest condo.
Joe has to get up from his couch — while watching the NFL Network on his standard def TV — and has to open his bottles of Caybrew himself.
Joe has to hire someone to take him to Egmont Key
Rachel Watson has yet to be inside Joe’s abode.
May 13th, 2010 at 10:49 am
Joe doesn’t have hi def with all these advertisements???
LOL…
Joe, that must have been a hyperbole by you!
May 13th, 2010 at 10:51 am
WTF is wrong with this coach ( I think he can be a good coach) He is Arrogant Cocky and never thinks when he speaks but hey the Glazers put him on this pedstal by promoting him all the way to Head coach now he thinks he knows it all. Um Coach Saints game 38-7 um coach Jets game 26-3 . Morris’s confidence to me is starting to come off ass Cockieness. He is like the little kid in the neighboor hood that is all always talking trash then gets beat up then goes and lies and says I never got beat up
May 13th, 2010 at 10:56 am
Joe, I know you have a real TV with HD. Enough with the BS already.
Raheem is sitting in a very good position right now, after a strong draft and great off season participation thus far. So why is he even talking at all? He isn’t stupid and must know the perception of his all too rambling comments to the media. Maybe he is just addicted to the sound of his own voice, kinda like JimBuc.
May 13th, 2010 at 10:56 am
“…then goes and lies and says I never got beat up”
LOL… that is actually a great analogy.
May 13th, 2010 at 10:58 am
RahDomDaBest:
No, no hyperbole at all. Joe has standard-def TV and doesn’t feel slighted.
When every channel and network is HD, Joe will take the plunge. Unlike many, Joe isn’t overly enamoured with HD. It’s a good picture, don’t get Joe wrong, but it’s not — in Joe’s eyes — dramatic.
Joe’s just old enough to remember black and white TVs. Going from black and white to color was dramatic.
Seeing Rachel Watson in HD might escalate Joe’s timetable of a purchase of an HDTV however. 🙂
May 13th, 2010 at 11:00 am
Three years ahead of schedule.
Almost won every game Freeman played.
Huggins was the driving force.
And its only May!

quit smiling rah….if you dont go 7-9 or better you’d better wipe that grin of your face and start up again with that “fast talk stuttering” in press conferences again…..adam from ny

what is rah-dream’s signature move?
“fast talk stuttering at press conferences while tossing team members and staff under the big ole yellow bus”

Nope. Joe does not have HD. No BS.
But Joe is a man and does have the NFL Network! 🙂

May 13th, 2010 at 11:19 am
Players need to beleive in there coach with him feeding us all this BS he has to be telling his players the same thing so are they have to be questioning him
May 13th, 2010 at 11:31 am
It’s great to be optimistic but this was just absurd!
May 13th, 2010 at 11:33 am
Joe,
Come on man! I know you must make enough off this site alone to buy a HD TV. There are many out there that are cheap (relatively), not to mention the connections you must have with advertisers.
You can’t diss guys for not buying NFL network when thier cable provider doesn’t even carry it and call them women…
and then watch football in standard def!
May 13th, 2010 at 11:37 am
tj:
they are well aware rah-blah is not that qualified….when they look at other teams they see some top of the line people running those organizations…then they look back at their own team and see morry & dommy….when rah gives a pregame lockeroom speech there is usually a towel boy standing right next to him, assisting him, wiping away the wetness behind his ears…those lobes are quite drippy and beaded up at press conferences too…hopefully he will grow and there will no longer be a need for a towel boy as his right hand man….adam from ny

If this NFL gig doesn’t work out Raheem should apply to be the Iraqi Information Minister.

Sorry, but I read all the post here and I really hate when everybody tries to bring Raheem down instead of embracing him. It’s like you take the smallest line you can get from him and turn it into some crazy stuff. He’s not delusional. I think he actually believes in his QB and team. We all say some off the wall comments, but hes not looking at statistics on every interview he does. Do you do that? Exactly. Why shoot the man down for that? Sorry I had to say that. That was my first post, and I felt the need to get it off my chest
May 13th, 2010 at 12:01 pm
No problem in being positive. Everyone knows what the win/loss was. I seem to remember someone from this site (Joe) last year about this time wailing that drafting Freeman was a mistake, and that he would be a crushed heap of sobbing goo if he ever started a game his first year-because obviously its too difficult. Winning three at the END of the season seemed damned good to me, especially against the ‘AINTS.
Let Rah alone and let him talk our young team up. Remember he is the coach of the Buccaneers, not the fans. We are not strapping it on Sundays. Im glad he said what he did instead of “We suck, and I am glad I can milk this gig for another year before I become a line coach at Kansas State”.
Besides next year we are 8 and 8 and making our playoff run in ’11 or ’12, how is that for being positive?
May 13th, 2010 at 12:07 pm
If they almost won every game that Freeman started last year, then they should almost go undefeated this season!
May 13th, 2010 at 12:16 pm
Raheem:
Why apologize man? Joe’s not BSPN. He doesn’t try to stifle free thought.
May 13th, 2010 at 12:47 pm
Raheem Morris is the cancer to the team.
If the dude ain’t smart enough to clean up his grammar when talking to the media, and focus, JUST FOCUS for that short timeframe, then imagine how stupid he sounds behind closed doors.
May 13th, 2010 at 12:58 pm
Joe, You haven’t seen the “real” NFL network, if you don’t have HD.
May 13th, 2010 at 1:17 pm
oar:
Joe isn’t positive what the allure of seeing Warren Sapp in HD is?
May 13th, 2010 at 1:21 pm
HD TV = BEING ABLE TO COUNT THE POURS ON SAPPS FACE WHILE HE TALKS TO YOU…WHO NEEDS THAT
May 13th, 2010 at 1:25 pm
The playing Warren Sapp, not the zoot suit Warren Sapp.
America’s Game, and not to mention the rest of the awesome shows on NFL Network, are HD-errific!
May 13th, 2010 at 1:27 pm
And obviously anybody that has HD is three years ahead schedule!
May 13th, 2010 at 1:31 pm
ADAM = LOSER
because he doesn’t have an HD TV SET
May 13th, 2010 at 1:37 pm
but really folks, who needs to bear witness to a ubiquitous pubicuous caught between sapp’s teeth during a smiling moment on the set, after a lunch time hair pie eating fling with a hottie in a nearby hotel room…..these things are better left unseen and moreso, left unsaid….adam from ny

May 13th, 2010 at 1:41 pm

Joe gets HD on his computer, so a lot of NFL Network shows Joe watches in HD online.
May 13th, 2010 at 1:54 pm
Joe, Well thank goodness for computers! NFL Network in anything other than HD is like looking at old polaroids.
May 13th, 2010 at 2:59 pm
Where are all the Jimbucs of the world to put a positive spin on this “delusional” and “fictional” hyperbole?
BP “almost” safely and cleanly took oil from the gulf – right rah!
May 13th, 2010 at 5:31 pm
We definitely might have been 16-0 if Freeman played all season.
How can you guys deny that??
My god , you are all so NEGATIVE !
May 13th, 2010 at 5:42 pm
I guess if you don’t have any real accomplishments, making some up is the next best thing.
May 13th, 2010 at 6:05 pm
After the Green Bay game, I think we had a legitimate shot at winning the Miami, Atlanta and Carolina games (weeks 10, 12, and 13). It is delusional to say they had a shot at winning every game he started. Yet, I think they did have a shot at going 6-3 instead of 3-6 with Freeman. All 3 of those games were lost by our defense’s inability to stop the opponent from either scoring in the last minute or running the ball for an 8 minute drive to finish the game.
May 13th, 2010 at 8:07 pm
Raheem is constantly sticking his foot in his own mouth
May 13th, 2010 at 8:34 pm
@ Patrick
Raheem would be BETTER OFF sticking his foot in his own mouth rather than trying to articulate anything remotely coherent!
May 13th, 2010 at 8:46 pm
He is delusional…Completely delusional. I honestly think if we would have lost every game last year he would have tried to put a positive spin on it.
May 14th, 2010 at 7:53 am
Freeman is a “bust in waiting” and was a waste of a pick. Didn’t everybody know that?
Love going back and looking at the clueless comments from JBF on Freeman.
* * * * *
Unlike other outlets that are shrugging their shoulders or are outright cheerleading that this pick was great, arrogantly mocking those who think otherwise, Joe won’t let this die.
This pick will set the franchise back five years.
If Freeman makes a Pro Bowl, Joe will buy his jersey and offer to buy Freeman a steak dinner and several adult beverages in honor of his accomplishment.
Joe doesn’t see that happening, either, but dearly hopes it does happen (steak dinner and cocktails included).
Simply put, Bucs fans collectively got taken to the cleaners by this pick of Freeman. Joe isn’t going to curl up in a fetal position and suck his thumb and remain silent.
He’s outraged.
May 14th, 2010 at 8:08 am
UfoJoe
Please post that ever day. Please! Joe wants to be reminded daily that the only guy who was ever perfect got hung on a cross.
Joe only wishes he had the time to waste at that Romper Room you hoist up as some paragon of journalism and find a post where you were wrong (though Freeman hasn’t made it quite yet, has he?)… or were you also hung on a cross as well?
Sadly, Joe’s got bigger and better things to do. But carry on!
Joe also requests that you dig up his posts — since you have so much free time on your hands — where Joe said if Freeman ever makes a Pro Bowl Joe will buy Freeman’s jersey.
Strangely, that you won’t do. Nor will you repeat where Joe wrote he hopes he is/was wrong about Freeman. How odd you won’t do that?
Caution: If you keep kicking the dog, don’t be surprised if one day the dog bites.
Interpret that however you wish.

LOL. Like the quote from you that I just posted? Geez, you’re really starting to lose it.

Gotta love it. The real JBF shows up. Journalist? Don’t make me laugh any more than I did after that last post of yours.
May 14th, 2010 at 8:30 am
Romper Room? Another shot at Pewter Report? You seem a little insecure about that. Might want to get that looked at.
May 14th, 2010 at 8:39 am
No, a shot is something Joe drinks.
May 14th, 2010 at 8:41 am
Who’s laughing now? The dog just bit.
Goodbye UfoJoe!
May 14th, 2010 at 8:48 am
UFOJoe – Not sure what your beef is. So Joe didn’t like the Freeman pick, like most people, but has since been impressed. What’s the big deal? Whatever your writing and quoting is impossible to understand.
May 14th, 2010 at 8:52 am
I remember Joe saying he’d buy a Freeman jersey and be his biggest backer if he played well. I think that was to prove a point that Joe supports the team but isn’t afraid to be critical. So what
May 14th, 2010 at 8:53 am
Thanks Phillip.
Joe never had anything against UfoJoe. He was a longtime reader.
Of late, he’s been quite venomous towards Joe, and Joe has no idea why.
UfoJoe picked a bad morning to cross swords with Joe. When he didn’t get the hint, well, the dog bit.
Joe is confident UfoJoe will run to the playpen you know where and whine a cry that he got banned. There’s usally a reason people getting bounced. If Joe pulled the same stunts over you know where, Joe is confident none of his comments would survive the morning, and still be locked out.
May 14th, 2010 at 8:56 am
Thank you Dave.
And that offer still stands. Joe will be the first in line at BucGear.com to buy his Josh Freeman jersey if the guy makes the Pro Bowl.
Joe has nothing against the kid. Good guy. Joe hopes sincerely he makes it. Big time.
May 14th, 2010 at 10:01 am
Joe will you buy me a steak dinner? Im hungry and I promise I almost made the NFL, and almost went undefeated to almost become a Pro Bowler.
Thanks in advance
May 14th, 2010 at 9:57 pm
UFOJoe , you are a douche bag , and it’s a testiment to Joe’s fairness that he allows you to continue to spew stupidity , rather than to just block your ass.
Why don’t you go back to kissing Jim Flynn’s ass ??? Oops , I forgot , Jim got laid off due to the fact that Poo-Poo report is (edited to remove unsubstantiated financial claims about Pewter Report. Ulitmately, Joe is reponsible what appears here.)
May 14th, 2010 at 10:02 pm
and now he is banned ….bwahahahaha . Good riddance
May 15th, 2010 at 4:45 pm
Comments like this from Rah make it hard to be a Buc fan…..
