The Coverup Of Arron Sears Continues
March 26th, 2010Last season the Bucs offensive line sadly regressed when it seemed it was on the verge of being a dominant unit.
First, there was changing the blocking techniques, which may have been the biggest culprit.
Then there was the boneheaded plays of Dunderhead Trueblood.
Not to be overlooked was when Arron Sears decided to play hide-and-seek.
Since, other than the Bucs bringing his name up, Sears is like the NFL version of Sasquatch: Sometimes talked about; rumored to be walking amid the public but never seen.
This espionage by the Bucs in regards to Sears continued this week when Bucs general manager Mark Dominik and coach Raheem the Dream brought Sears’ name up in conversations with Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times.
To say the two were guarded in their comments is an understatement.
Asked about Sears’ ability to contribute this fall, both Morris and Dominik were cautious in their answers, though it’s clear they haven’t ruled out the possibility of him playing a role.
“Arron’s working and we’ll have to see what Arron is when he comes back and we start our offseason,” Morris said. “But the situation was a private situation and we tried to keep it that way. . . I look forward and I’m hopeful to see where he is and to see how he’s going to react when he has an opportunity.”
Private? No one has been more private since D.B. Cooper. There have been more sightings of Osama bin Laden than this Sears. The way the Bucs are hiding Sears, he must be in possession of Obama’s birth certificate or has access to Russian nuclear armaments.
If the Bucs have to protect him this much, how on earth do they expect him to handle the overflowing crowds of 40,000 at the CITS this fall?

Joe,
Face it. Some things are just none of our business.
I don’t really car what’s wrong with him. I hope he gets it worked out and makes a come back. Short of that I really don’t need to know what is going on.

I really hope they get him back 100%. even if he doesn’t start at least it would be depth and enable them to focus on other things in the draft.
If he isn’t back, they will probably have to draft an OT and an OG.

Joe,
I think they are using the “cone of silence” rather than the shoe phone.
Raheem is the one who sticks his head out and says – I can’t hear you!!!!!!!!

For those that arent old like me, this is the cone of silence.

Good one!
Actually, after the 3-13 season, Raheem the Dream peeked around the corner of the entrance to Joel Glazer’s office and said, “Sorry about that, Chief.”
Then, in mid-February, Raheem the Dream said to the assembled press, “Would you believe we beat the Super Bowl champions in their own house?”

What a mental image! Maxwell Smart is coaching the Bucs!

IMO Agent 99 would have been a strong contender in the eye candy competition.

Now I understand all of Raheem’s shortcomings last year of coaching a football team. It was the misunderstanding’s of the Glazers and the cone of silence. I can see it now; Glazers say-don’t change defensive schemes, don’t change bolcking schemes, don’t sign Jagz or Bates, don’t sign Lefty as a vet back-up and don’t cause qb or kicker controversies, don’t release our only leader on/off the field Brooks, and definitely don’t resign Clayton. And well, we now how it all turned out. Thanks cone of silence and here I thought he was just chest-bumping and inexperienced.

40K? Bit optimistic Joe…especially if they start 0-4

Leave the man alone. This is none of your business.

trade his ass…

Joe, that was funny. Good one

Thanks BigMacAttack! Joe appreciates it!
When the Bucs stop charging for admission, then it will be none of our business. So long as Bucs fans are partially, indirectly (if not directly) paying his salary, it’s very much our business.

Joe, who would thunk you were such a soft hearted lib.
March 27th, 2010 at 8:06 am
Joe here,
JimBuc, you must be joking.

Whatever is going on with him is obviously very complex and is pretty useless for us to speculate on. This isn’t a guy taking time off because he got caught tapping a waitress in a Denny’s parking lot…wait..we would need to leave that alone though because that is just too personal.
Let the kid figuire things out.

Just because you “might” go to the Bucs game, that doesn’t give anyone the right to delve into Sears’ private life. That’s why they call it “private.” Whatever issues Sears is struggling with, if he wishes for them to remain private, then that is his business. Just because alot of you were raised by Jerry Springer, it doesn’t give you any “right” to become involved in anyones private life.

Erik- Too funny…thaaaaaaaaat much. lol
I know the real reason for Sears disappearance. It is a personal matter. You see, he was kidnapped by aliens. The mother ship swooped in, hidden by cloud-like gasses and beamed him aboard without anyone noticing. He was then transported to somewhere in deep space where he underwent exploratory surgical procedures. He was then forced to mate with a Serpentine female before being returned to planet earth. His memory was erased but he still has flashbacks. It was a horrendous ordeal and that’s why it is being kept secret. I don’t blame them.
