The Official Word On Geno Hayes
February 12th, 2010Joe thanks the good folks at One Buc Palace for getting him the official word from Mark Dominik on Geno Hayes.
It was broken yesterday by good-guy reporter Tom Krasniqi, sometimes-host at WQYK-AM 1010, that Hayes was injured in the Bucs’ final game and had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder.
“Obviously Geno did have surgery on his shoulder. He will be able to participate in the mini-camp in late-June,” Dominik said. “It’s certainly something that we decided as an organization, he decided, met with our doctors, went ahead and said it was the right time and we tried to make sure we did the surgery early enough so he would be able to participate in as much as he can going forward.”
The late-June timetable sounds great. But Joe would settle for Hayes returning 100 percent for the start of training camp. Hayes is not a guy they can afford to lose. And Joe’s guessing Raheem the Dream wants to get “violent” again.

Right you are, Joe. Geno looks like a star on the rise. His stats in those last seven quarters were eye-opening. & the on-field speed!! I think he’s faster than Brooks in his heyday.
BTW–I hope the Bucs are considering a similar ‘Nole, Dakoda Watson, as a late-round pick.
