Showtime Shameful In Covering For Warren Sapp
February 15th, 2010Since The Sopranos left HBO a few years ago, Joe has not had any movie channel.
Literally minutes after the show went dark, Joe logged on to his DirecTV account and canceled his HBO subscription.
Joe doesn’t do any other movie channels — Joe’s not much of a movie guy; the second edition of The Longest Yard is the last time Joe remembers being in a movie theatre — so it’s easy to forget that Showtime has the weekly “Inside the NFL.”
Like the NFL Network, former Bucs great Warren Sapp also is a co-host on this show (along with the lovely Jenn Brown, a Clearwater girl).
After Sapp was dragged off in handcuffs and tossed in a Miami-Dade County cage for allegedly slapping around his girlfriend of two years when he was in South Florida covering the Super Bowl, Sapp was pulled off the NFL Network as he was there along with a cast of dozens working for the network.
How would Showtime’s “Inside the NFL” cover the Sapp story? The answer quickly became apparent. It wouldn’t. At the top of the show, host James Brown simply said: “Warren Sapp will not be with us this week.”
Why? Did he have a cold?
Was he sunning himself on a beach?
Raissman is right. If you are going to cover for one of your own on a nationally broadcast show, what else are you hiding? What other kind of agendas do you have? What other kind of cons are you pulling?
More importantly, why should viewers believe you or even watch you?

The lovely Jenn Brown is impressive, isn’t she BigMacAttack?
Probably got that tan on Clearwater Beach.
