Sapp: “[Raheem] Has To Keep His Job”
January 2nd, 2010The loudest mouth of the Bucs glory days, Warren Sapp, who now makes his living as one of the NFL’s most colorful analysts, is offering loud praise for Raheem The Dream.
In his Week 17 picks breakdown for the NFL Insider show on Showtime (no link offered on the video on CBSSports.com), Sapp had some back and forth with co-hosts Chris Collinsworth and Phil Simms about the state of the Bucs.
Sapp claims “Buc Ball” has definitely returned to the defense and the head coach deserves the credit.
Collinsworth: Can Raheem keep his job?
Warren Sapp: He has to keep his job. The [inaudible] was bad. He’s doing an excellent job.
Collinsworth: Jon Gruden won nine games down there. Doesn’t that count for anything?
Sapp: No. He won a Super Bowl and he dismantled it. …Let’s leave him alone.
Joe did find it interesting, however, that Sapp picked the Falcons to win Sunday. Hey Warren, what happened to Buc Ball?
And for those who like to gamble, Sapp doesn’t have much faith in the Oakland Raiders putting up much of a fight at home against the Baltimore Ravens.
“Nobody packs up the U-Haul like the Oakland Raiders, baby,” Sapp said.

I like Sapp, no Sapp, no Lombardi. His big mouth said in around 97 the bucs would win a championship, his big mouth talked, and the big man did his damage.
If the bucs win this week, Morris has to get some credit, and continuity is important.
Hell of a diffcult decision for the Glazers, but Sapp took a stand even after a prognosticated loss. Wrong as it may turn out to be in the future.
2 win streak on the road? Something is there, give him another year at least.

Joe, Desi Cortez says you’re a racist for calling Sapp a “colorful” analyst!

Ouch!

Now since I didn’t see the program I’ll give Mr. Mouth a “little” slack but saying Morris is doing an EXCELLENT job?
So 3-12 is excellent and 9-7 is crap?
Jon Gruden dismanteled the Super Bowl team and Raheem has done what to Gruden’s team?
Sapp is entertaining but most of the time I laugh AT him and not WITH him. I wish I had seen the entire give-n-take between Sapp and Collinsworth. Unfortunately Chris doen’t have the balls to call Sapp out on those ridiculous comments about Morris. Cuz if he did Desi Cortez would be all over Collinsworth like white on rice

I think Morris must of gave me Stockholm Syndrome.

Sapp is bitter that Gruden wouldn’t re-sign him and he had to take the Raiders millions when the Bucs millions didn’t materialize. Take whatever he says with a grain of salt, though I wonder if would think the Bucs coach was doing an “excellent” job if he wasn’t black.

Mr. Lucky, you can go to CBSsports.com and under the video meau it right there…what Sapp said was that since they went back to the tampa2 which was Raheems choice they are much improved..Sapp wasn’t the only one that was removed form that superbowl team:Sapp,Lynch,Johnson(both),Pittman,McCardell,D Smith,Rice need i say more. Sapp has every right to be a little bitter!!! he was there when this franchise got turned around and he also got to see Allen and Gruden run it back into the ground!!!

He got a Super Bowl ring from Gruden, and Gruden did in 2002 what Sapp was begging Dungy to do for 5 years…get him an offense that can score 17 points and the defense would take care of the rest. The Bucs got all they could from Sapp while he was here, and didn’t want to take a chance on another contract renewal while they were trying to dig out from the cap hole McKay left them in. Booger McBustland was also set to take his place. It’s not like Sapp did a whole lot in Oakland to make Gruden and Allen look like it was a mistake. He was like a dancing bear at the LOS for the Raiders, not the penetrating bull rusher he was with us.
