Half The Bucs Honor Gaines
January 23rd, 2010Reading the reports out of South Carolina, Joe was quite impressed by the show of support from the Bucs at Gaines Adams’ funeral in South Carolina on Friday.
The St. Pete Times sent Stephen Holder to chronicle the event. He estimated half the Bucs roster was in attendance.
From a picture gallery on the Web Site of The Greenville News, Joe could tell the Bucs had chartered two buses from the local airport, in addition to the plane from Tampa. The photo spread captured Aqib Talib, Mark Dominik, Raheem The Dream and Chris Hovan among those in attendance.
Bucs defensive line coach Todd Wash was among the speakers at the funeral. From all the reports, Joe was most moved to learn of the close relationship Gaines had with his father, also Gaines Adams.
Rest in peace, Gaines.

At a time when it is hard to say I’m a Buc fan it is a story like this, one of support and love for a player an his family, that makes me feel proud to be a Buc fan. I thank the Glazers and the rest of the Buc organization for doing this for Gaines and his family and for representing the Tampa Bay community. Rest in peace Gaines. From what I can see and read you will be sorely missed. God bless.
